it takes a turn around ep6 that kinda defeats the purpose of a lot of the stupidity from eps 1-4, and the son becomes more of a minor character.
the thing cranston does with the aw shucks as he awkwardly tells lies take me back to walter white in a cringy kind of way.
Yep — the last 2 episodes really have him swirling down the drain. Worth powering through the mid-episodes

Whereabouts? We will do first half in Telluride and second half in Aspen. All of our Texas friends congregate in Aspen the four weeks before school starts.
Split between Telluride and an area north of Durango (closer to Purgatory) called Glacier Club

Spending summer in Colorado again. COVID making remote work more common has made that even easier for us. Used to just be able to do 4-6 weeks. Doing 12 weeks this summer.
Nice. Heading up for 2 weeks in mid-May

Every time Walter White gets involved, shit gets worse. I liked the first episode. Looking forward to more.
The “every move I make gets me further under” character goes back even to “Malcolm in the Middle” for him. And he’s great at it.

Just saw a highlight on Sportscenter from the indoor meet at Texas Tech, and recently saw a photo of the indoor facility at Arkansas. Got me wondering — what doesn’t Texas have an indoor track facility? And, yes, I understand it costs $$$, but you’d think at some point over the years one would have been built.

Had to look that up — Towel Guy from The Kids in the Hall. That was a great show.

Horns 247 / Chip Brown / Saturday update on Texas coaching staff searches
Saturday update on Texas coaching staff searches
ChipBrown
Just a quick update to say we’re hearing Tosh Lupoi is still in the mix - in some capacity - as a candidate to join Steve Sarkisian’s staff at Texas.
We’ve reported Lupoi has been offered the defensive line coaching position with the Dallas Cowboys by Dan Quinn. Lupoi coached the defensive line under Quinn last season with the Atlanta Falcons. Lupoi, who coached under Sarkisian at Washington (before going to Alabama and then to the NFL) would like at least a co-defensive coordinator title if he would return to college football, a source told Horns247.
We've reported Mississippi State defensive coordinator Zach Arnett is someone Sarkisian was intrigued by after Sarkisian faced Arnett's defense in a 41-0 victory by the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa on Halloween, sources told Horns247.
Dennis Dodd of CBSSports.com reported Friday Arkansas' Barry Odom was still a defensive coordinator candidate under consideration by Sarkisian. We'd heard that Odom and Sarkisian talked a couple weeks ago and that if Odom was going to take another job, he'd like to bring at least one coach with him, a source close to the situation told Horns247.
According to our sources, Sarkisian has already hired Bo Davis as a defensive line coach, former Longhorn Blake Gideon as a position coach and Terry Joseph, a longtime secondary coach (most recently at Notre Dame), as a position coach.
Texas defensive line coach Oscar Giles and Chris Ash, who served as UT's defensive coordinator last season, have been waiting to see how Sarkisian wants to fill out his staff, although we've heard Ash may have been let go by Sarkisian, freeing Ash up to join Urban Meyer's staff as a position coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
We've heard Sarkisian talked to Georgia defensive coordinator Dan Lanning about joining the Texas staff on Friday, but a source close to the situation said Lanning plans to stay at Georgia, where the Bulldogs are expected to be loaded on defense next season.
Sources told Horns247 Saturday it's unclear if Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding is still under consideration by Sarkisian to join the Texas staff. We've reported Alabama coach Nick Saban, who helped recommend Sarkisian for the Texas job, has objected to Sarkisian attempting to hire Golding.
Stay tuned.
Thanks Chip

I had assumed it helped retain moisture, but after some actual research it looks like the point is getting it past the stalling internal temp.
I never claimed to be Aaron Franklin here.Hey man, my first few briskets were barely edible, it's a finicky cut that takes quite a bit of practice but you learn with each one. It's not like a pork shoulder that you can overcook and it'll still be fine. We might talk shit but we've all been there, live and learn
I didn’t get my pork shoulders done right until I started cooking them after the point I thought they were done

My pitchfork is raised lol.
Maybe we should fire up the key and get the UT President and athletic director to fly to the location of the DC candidate and beg him to come to Texas. Tried and true method.

Hell yeah. Now go raid the entire OSU staff and GTFO of Texas
Based on the championship game, he’d be better off raiding the Alabama staff

Taking a bunch of staff from Alabama could be the first domino in them slowly giving up the crown before Saban retires. And with LSU potentially having to make a change in the next couple of years, and Aggy doing aggy things for 7.5M a year, OU and Ohio State are the only major hurdles in the coming years.
There is a pathway for Texas to really dominate over the next decade if we don’t fuck this up.

The Austin Hyatt on Town Lake is arguably where fajitas jumped into gringo cuisine in the late ‘70s- early ‘80s. Every politician/lobbyist took the Hyatt version back home.No. That would be the original Ninfa’s on Navigation that popularized tacos al carbon before the Hyatt.

I'm actually glad CDC was checking out the staff possibilities of the potential HCs. Maybe he's a nincompoop, but I wish he had been around to check out Mensa's at the interview.
What -- you mean the outstanding AD Perrin didn't do that?

I wish I could do that. Been having a hard time getting it past 380 off the tee lately. Still 370 on most holes. Maybe 350, 360 if it's uphill.
So I’ve played Kapalua, and there are several elevated tees that add distance. But that drive is just stupid long.

This, the drop in defensive stats is directly correlated to a shift to a more aggressive offensive mindset under Kiffen and Sarkesian. Defense is on the field more, stats suffer.
For those of you that remember:
