Just once, I'd love an ex-coach to burn the place down on the way out.
Uhh, Mack Brown, calling Mack Brown?

I must not be seeing the link you provided comparing the donations to when we are competing for national championships.
It’s been so long that you would have to adjust for inflation

Based on his HC record and being fired for cause at USC, I don’t even begin to get how he got hired.
I dint know if he is the right hire. I do know that people can turn their lives around after 5 years. I also know I can’t judge him.

My point stands. Using a flat W-L record to critique his time there is absurd.W-L is a flat circle

He's a freshman, He will be fine. Great win.
I’m not down on him. Watched him play a couple of times when he was in HS. Just seems like he hasn’t hit a consistent stride yet, but hopefully it will come.

Was not able to watch today. Looks like Greg Brown had (another?) off game — what was up with him today?

Blake Gideon is a very good coach. Good recruiter, too.
I hear he sometimes lets easy recruits slip through his grasp

$1000+ for two outings with coaches and wives..c'mon man(not you personally). Unless that was his personal tab, that was just petty. I might be wrong, but I'm guessing other coaches do the same things for their staff and wives. Adam Jude seems like a sour bitch.
And it was 8 years ago, not last week....

I have no skin in the game so I'm not going to say you're definitely right or absolutely wrong. I *hope* you're wrong but if it turns out that you were right I'll give you props. Either way, one of us will be happy and the other won't. Period.
Why cant we all just be happy that Herman’s gone?

I’ve had a Playbase, sub and 2 of the Ones for about 2 years. No complaints, easy to set up, and good sound for our living room.

Maybe that's where I've gone wrong, I've never added heat. What do you use, tabasco? Cholula?
Cayenne pepper

Usually get together with friends in the hood
This year: ordering takeout, debating whether to stay up even for the 11:00 broadcast of the NYC ball drop.

Very few places do beef ribs. And even fewer deliver better than a B+
Places in Austin that come to mind (and I’m sure there are others I’m not thinking about) that serve beef ribs daily. We can all debate where these fall in the pantheon of bbq joints and particular menu items, but all are better than County Line, and all make very good beef ribs:
Mickelthwait
Terry Black’s
Stiles Switch
Black’s

really enjoyed Prisoner with Xmas dinner. Highly recommend and easy to find.
Some background: that wine was created by a guy named David Phinney, who sold the label to the much-hated Constellation Brands. He sold other labels to the less-hated Gallo (under the Orin Swift company). Made hundreds of millions in the sales. He actually later went back to work for Orin Swift, and also has his own line.
If you liked the Prisoner style, I'd suggest trying Papillon (also easy to find), made by Orin Swift. Haven't had either in a while, but as I recall they are similar blends.

I have lived in Amarillo most of my life and we get a pretty good dose of winter. I like the cold and enjoy the snow, just don’t know about having snow on the ground for months at a time. My parents lived in Denver for a while, mom loved it and dad hated the winters.
Have not spent time in snow and cold in Amarillo (though I have been there several times). My guess is that dealing with cold and snow there is significantly less pleasant than dealing with it in Telluride, simply because it is layered on top of Amarillo.

It's great. I don't even bother with Pecan Lodge anymore with Terry Black's right down the street though I am needing to finally get some fried chicken from PL. My parents are up from SAT tomorrow for a couple of nights and we're going to have bbq from somewhere. I'm thinking of running over to Hurtado in Arlington -- been wanting to try it -- or Black's down in Deep Ellum if they don't pick up some on their way up 35.
The Terry Black's in Austin has been open for a while, and has been pretty good. Terry Blacks > Black's, IMO
