  1. Borba thinks too much instead of trusting his arm. The hesitation hurts him.
  2. Looks like it hit the knob first.
  3. Hard to overturn that.
  4. That didn't add much baseball wise. I will be fine. Aggy has difficulty with most things.
  5. Yes, I know I would like the results. What do add baseball wise?
  6. I tell you what, there should be a poll of who adds more to the baseball talk here, me or you. I don't think you would like the results.
  7. What I try to do is add to the baseball discussion here. This is what I want.
  8. No, I have my own, chocolate chip. What do you want?
  9. I don't think so, maybe you should ask around on the baseball forum.
  10. I'm not the only one pointing it and I am not going away.
  11. Facts can't be hidden. Broken thumb, with possible ligament damage.
  12. Galvan can hit but can't catch till a determined time it seems. Maybe he can start being behind the plate again against Georgia. We will see.
  13. Third base errors not going away. It and left field keeps being a question mark.
  14. Still weird that Belyeu got checked out by the trainer and remained in the game. Galvan and Rodriguez had to leave the game immediately and were thought to be the ones to worry about. They are coming back soon, and Belyeu is out for at least the rest of the regular season.
  15. Bing with the start is not unexpected.
  16. Speaking of Aggy, Buzz Williams leaving them to go to Maryland is hilarious. Is he the new POS coach they can talk about. I guess Buzz isn't as bad because he didn't leave to go to tu. He would have if we had offered though, Aggy will not consider that.
  17. Texas State not exactly tearing things up since the glory days of being at Aggy.
  18. Antico "was" a redshirt senior because he is now out of eligibly and no longer on the team. Winfield "is" currently a sophomore on the Texas Baseball team. The quotation marks were used to denote the difference between the two in their first year on the team. It was Antico's only season on the team. The length that Winfield stays on the team is yet to be determined.
  19. The real difference between Antico and Winfield is that Antico was a "redshirt senior" and Winfield is a "sophomore." Looks like Duplantier may get a look if Winfield doesn't come around. Winfield tries to pull everything, even in his limited playing time, teams are using the extreme shift on him. I can't believe that Tulo hasn't worked with him about taking pitches the other way or bunting some too. This applies to Farmer too; the bunt being used and the whole field when batting being used. Freshman Rodriguez even just slapped a pitch the other way batting lefty for single. when that shift was used on him. That same shift is being used against Chamberlain, who will getting more time at catcher. Schloss talked about this with Chamberlain in that Orangebloods video. The same things I and others have talked about here.
  20. Just wait to Sean Miller opens his own BBQ joint in Austin. Be sure to get a side of his famous "Skyline Chili" also.
  21. What about Hall of Famer Nellie Fox and his "bottle bat" he made famous. His bat wasn't for power though. In his last few seasons in MLB, he helped Joe Morgan become a power hitter. Since little Nellie Fox thrived on singles and doubles, he couldn’t care less about whip action. He wanted to extend his bat’s “sweet spot” from the barrel as far down as possible, even to his knuckles if necessary, so if a pitcher fooled him with a slider or curve, or jammed him with a fastball, the part of the bat striking the ball was still thick enough to propel the ball through the infield for a hit. 1959 season [edit] Fox's best season came in 1959, when he received the AL Most Valuable Player award (not until Dustin Pedroia in 2008 would another American League second baseman receive such an honor) on a White Sox team that won its first AL pennant in 40 years. He batted .306, had an on-base percentage of .380, and led the AL in singles. He also started and had four hits in two All-Star games and won his second Gold Glove. The Al López-managed White Sox had the best record in baseball, going 94-60 to finish five games ahead of the Cleveland Indians and a surprising 15 ahead of the New York Yankees. It was one of just two seasons the Yankees did not win the pennant between 1949–1964. In the World Series, Fox batted a team-high .375 with three doubles, but the Sox lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in six games. In Game 5, Fox scored the only run when Sherm Lollar hit into a double play in the fourth inning (this was only the second time that a World Series game did not have an RBI). It was Fox's only postseason experience, and the White Sox did not make it back to the World Series until they swept the 2005 World Series from the Houston Astros. Later career [edit] Fox played his final two seasons (1964–65) with the Houston Colt .45s and Astros. Joe Morgan later said that he looked up to Fox's example as a rookie with the Astros; Fox and Morgan were both diminutive second basemen. Morgan grew up hitting with a Nellie Fox model bat, which had a large barrel and large handle. With the Astros, Fox convinced Morgan to switch to a bat with a thin handle to leverage his power.[7]
  22. The whole thing looked pretty odd. He dove to make the catch, but his wrist came up and the glove was pointing straight down. He twisted his wrist I believe to try to keep the ball from falling out of his glove, which he accomplished. The umpire signaled the out and Belyeu got up and threw the ball back in. Then he took off his glove and was looking at his hand. I thought he had jammed his wrist. Then that female trainer goes out and examines his hand and seemed to be pressing on it with her thumb and asking him questions. He shook his head a few times and then she lets go of it and said something and Belyeu shook his head again. He said something like I'm ok and then trotted back to his position. He must be good to go I thought. Seems like with a broken thumb and torn ligaments maybe too, there would be a lot of pain if moved or especially pressed down on like that trainer was doing. Seems also like it would start to swell quickly too. But no, he goes back to right field and finishes the inning. Imagine if he had a broken thumb and had to make another dive on a play after that or just a fly ball hitting that thumb on a catch. The pain would be rough. Thankfully it didn't happen. Who knew it all went down this way if we had a microphone near the conversation with the trainer. She picks up his hand and presses different places and asks does this hurt. Yes, he says. What about here and here? Yes, and yes. Then she presses his thumb, and he says, Hell yes. She lets his hand go and Belyeu asks her what she thinks. She tells him I think you have a serious thumb injury. It could be broken and there could also be ligament damage. Either way it's going to require surgery. What are my options he asks her. She pauses and says, you can either stay in the game or go to the hospital now. He thinks about it and says, "I'm good," and heads back to right field. Sadly, now we know he made the wrong decision and succumbed to his injuries. Max, if you had only gone to the hospital instead, you would still be with us. RIP
