  1. *When Ngata commits to ASU*

Perroni: "While obviously not ideal, Jimbo Fisher and Co. have been in constant contact with Ngata, and he returns most of Jimbo's missed calls.  The ags have been in on Ngata longer than anyone else, so I suspect this recruitment isn't over until the ink is dry."

    More likely

Jimbo 2023-- fishin at coal quarry lake, WV counting my $20,547 rolling in daily.

    Or equally likely,

Jimbroke 2023-- on the phone with lawyer, direct deposits stopped and aggy won't take my calls.

Not to be greedy, but regardless how the rest of their season goes, this year or early next is prime time to get his agent to start sniffing around semi-publically.  He can claim aggy just isn't doing enough to win and they will give him an extension and raise.

I will coach them for a mere $6M per year guaranteed for five years.  That's a heck of a deal aggy.  PM me Sharp.

I got a laugh from this post on the USC 247 board.

15 Most talented teams in college football by recruiting rankings

    1 Alabama

    2 Ohio State
    3 Georgia

    4 USC
    5 LSU
    6 Florida State
    7 Texas
    8 Oklahoma
    9 Clemson
    10 Penn State
    11 Michigan
    12 Texas A&M
    13 Auburn
    14 Notre Dame
    15 Florida

Top 16 ranked teams in the nation as of today

    1 Alabama
    2 LSU
    3 Clemson
    4 Ohio State
    5 Oklahoma
    6 Wisconsin
    7 Penn State
    8 Notre Dame
    9 Florida
    10 Georgia
    11 Auburn
    12 Oregon
    13 Utah
    14 Boise State-
    15 Texas
    16 Michigan

There are only 3 teams with top 15 recruiting talent that are not in the top 16. USC (#4) is the highest recruiting ranking team not in the top 25. Florida State (#6) and Texas A&M (#12) are the other two underachieving teams.

Do FSU and aggy have something in common?

  4. The aggy network is designed to get middle management jobs for aggy similar to what daddy98 does for a living.  So if Alfred Collins is interested in working for Paul Pesek's insurance agency in about five years, then Collins should absolutely commit to aggy.  On the other hand, If Collins prefers a professional career in football, or anything else for that matter, then the aggy network is no more effective than any other institution.

Let’s actually dream of Elko not getting a head coaching job, but instead getting poached by another SEC team as a defensive coordinator. The tears would be spectacular.

Aggy will pay any amount of money to keep this from happening.  Elko's agent is probably on the phone right now with about 10 other SEC teams.

People actually pay for this shit.  A successful year is just being able to say "wait until next year!"

He's also doubling down on the the whole "players can't have headsets on".

At the halfway point of the season, what constitutes a successful year?

I think that's very tough to answer, and, I believe, even if you lose, how this team improves and plays against Georgia and LSU has a lot to do with it. I think the bare minimum that you're hoping to see at this point is a 4-4 SEC finish (that means beating Ole Miss on the road and Miss State and South Carolina at home) and winning a bowl game. All things considered, to drop one game off of last year's record against this schedule wouldn't be the end of the world. Not saying that's a 'successful year' because it's not IMO. But I am saying that, when you're set to return as many as 21 of 22 starters (and definitely something close to that) and will soon be starting four true freshmen, it's not going to be the end of the world or derail progress under Jimbo or on the recruiting front.

Well aggy has already lost one starter in Roney Elam.  Offensive line starter Colton Prater is a senior.  They also lose their best player who is punter Braden Mann.  I think they will also lose Madabuike and Ausbon.  So it looks like Looch is being disingenuous with his reporting.

So Aggy jus needs 6-8 of these guys to finish Top 8?

Daniel Ngata (APB from Folson, CA) - pushed things back

Zachary Evans (RB from Houston, Tx) - Trending LSU

Devon Achane (APB from Missouri City, Tx) - Don't count out him going where Malik Hornsby goes

EJ Smith (APB from Dalls, Tx) - no idea

Chris Morris (OG from West Memphis, AR) - Trending A&M...for now

Garrett Hayes (OT from Athens, Tx) - Trending Arkansas or TCU

Ty'kleast Crawford (OT from Carthage, Tx) - Commtted to Arkansas - might not qualify

Marcus Dumervil (OT from Fort Lauderdale, FL) - Looks like Bama just trapdoored OL Xavier Hill to take this guy

Donell Harris (WDE from Miami, FL) - Fong to LSU

McKinnley Jackson (DT from Lucedale, MS) - who?

Antonia Doyle (OLB from Hazelwood, MO) - just had a kid. Could stay closer to home

Dontae Manning (CB from Kansas City, MO) - Tending A&M

Damieon George (OT from Houston, Tx) - Please please take him

Arik Gilbert (TE from Marietta, GA) - Trending Alabama

I think you guys are forgetting that Jimbo Fisher and Co. were "in on him first" with most of these recruits.  Advantage aggy.

  8. Fellow surly posters, we are about to enter a period of the greatest quality and quantity of aggy misery ever experienced by mankind.  I am thrilled to be able to share this experience with you.  This will be a combination of the long, slow burn of the Fran era combined with the rapid dumpster fire crash of the swagcopter, with a little bit of opening day loss to Arkansas State mixed in.  I pray that we are all able to make it through this period alive and healthy, because I know men have succumbed to lesser doses of aggy misery.  So as we set out into these uncharted waters, I encourage you to take care of yourselves; eat healthy, exercise, get plenty of sleep.  A golden age is upon us.  Enjoy it, my friends.

Give him his own forum that he can't venture out from.  Kind of like a caged animal.

This is kind of like a science experiment.  It will give us great insight into the aggy group think, and is something that could have long term benefits for humanity.
