1 minute ago, Nicole44 said:So the smart thing to do is trot my friend out here to be destroyed by a bunch of people who can’t accept Sark is 💯 the reason why our offseason sucked and his entire side of the ball sucks? Sounds like a plan. I'm not absolving Sark of any of the blame, I just think you are claiming to have insider info in order to gain attention on the internet. -

Nicole claims to have insider information but just conveniently can't speak about any of it and also just rehashes what others have already thrown out there as true. "oh yes, my source is saying the same thing".
-
its laughable that any of ya'll think Nicole has any inside info -

This game will come down to if we can keep them from grinding the clock. They like to go on time churning, 10-15 play drives that take up half a quarter. With our inefficient offense we can't let that happen. I would prefer we be ultra aggressive on D and if we give up a long score, so be it.
-
The linebackers are generally pretty terrible in zone as well. They cover grass not receivers. Lefau in particular had a bad game yesterday with meaningless coverage drops and poor angles.
-
It’s a quibble when compared to the state of the Offense, but it’s starting to become a worrying trend how we’re playing pass defense. The dreaded off coverage from the corners gave up such easy slants and curls and we played way too much man coverage. There were plays were they threw a short hitch or bubble screen and the safety was so late they picked up a long first down. Feels like early years PK mixed with Akina inability to teach zone.

Sweatergawd more enterprises should take multiregion architecture more seriously. At least a pilot light backup would let you hit a 30 minute RTO to just fail over from use1
Our problem was mostly that our critical vendor were also down so us failing over meant we were up but the customer still wouldn’t be able to fully use our software for its intended purpose.
We have had customers asking us why we don’t have multi cloud…which I’m hoping they are ok with their contract being double what it currently is bc that’s what it would take to pull off that nightmare.

Yeah it is clear that they have way too much going on in their heads on any given play. Another sign pointing to Sark thinking he can run things like an NFL team when he is working with 19 year olds. Slide protections, pull protections, half run half pass protections. Its all too much. Just run BOB and some half-slide until we can prove we can execute those.Damn.. Paul Wadlington is undressing the fuck out of some of blocking schemes we did vs UK. Don't know who is teaching them but it's straight fucking asswater.

41 minutes ago, immamac said:didn't get physically manhandled by Kentucky either and had the offense done literally anything it could have been 4 scores. I'm not gonna sit out here and project that Arch is going to backslide to UTEP levels of dogshit play and the OL is gonna just forget that they are playing football. you don't think that our offense got manhandled by Kentucky? You run a great website but you don't know shit about football. -

I've seen enough football to know the script of some games. Yesterday was a classic Underdog Outplays and Outperforms the Favorite, Gets Multiple Chances to Win, Loses in Heartbreaking Fashion games. I won't go so far as to say I knew we were going to win all along. I felt the pit in my stomach that we were going to lose. But I never felt like our team was less talented or victory was totally out of reach. Kentucky played about as well as they possibly could, but they made one mistake and that's all it took. They should have fully capitalized on the opportunities we gave them, and they didn't. I actually expected Mark Stoops to fake the FG at the end of regulation and hit a wide open receiver for the go-ahead TD. That's the kind of night it was, until it wasn't.
What? They didn’t play that well at all.

the people who think that we should bench arch so that we can possibly win more games right now a)don’t seem to be picking up on how sark operates, b)making a wild assumption that any of our backups would be more effective, and c)are not realizing what it would mean to bench arch.
sark isn’t out here like, “oh shit i need to win right now, my seat is hot, better bench (see: alienate and send to the portal) the one guy i’ve built this entire program around!”. benching arch would mean that sark is admitting complete failure when it comes to his ability to coach up “the greatest qb prospect ever”, and that’s not how sark (or any coach) works.
arch is *the* focal point for this organization (as it were). the entire plan revolves around arch being the guy, and i’m sorry, but you don’t know shit shout coaches if you think they’re likely to just give up on “their guy” after seven games because it’s not going well. and to do so in this case would be blowing up the whole thing and starting from scratch. you think sark wants to give up on arch for the rest of this year and go into next year with more uncertainty than ever? stop thinking that this is about winning games today and start realizing that this is about sark seeing his plan to fruition, a plan which squarely revolves around arch manning.
That’s why it won’t happen, not why it shouldn’t happen.
And you’re right, it won’t. But it’s more fun to argue over why it should on the internet.-

Also, Sark he completely lost his reputation as a qb guru and offensive genius already so what difference does it make? -

this is not true. there is a ton of harm in trying, from alienating the best qb on the roster who may not be a lost cause, to sark completely losing his reputation as a great offensive mind and a qb guru. sark is publicly telling us that he’s encouraging arch to take more of a leadership role as the qb even though arch isn’t proven yet, and you think there’s literally no downside to benching that guy?
this whole operation, which is years in the works, is based around arch manning being the guy, not just for today, but for next year as well. we are not going to scrap that after 7 games of his first year as a starter, and if you don’t understand the myriad of ways in which our qb guru head coach giving up on the guy he’s built his entire program around after 7 games could turn out to be a bad thing then i don’t know what to tell you.
ill just say this: imagine if we did bench arch after 7 whole games as the starter on some jeff fisher/VY shit. imagine that Arch gets replaced, his backup does no better than he did, the team is no better off for it, and next year dia bell is competing with some transfer from Bumfuck State while Arch goes and gets developed at ole miss, or oregon or somewhere else that’s not here. “literally nothing bad could happen from benching him.” sports fans are so short sighted.
So your position is that it is more important to preserve the very slim odds of the idealized scenario working out next year over trying to win games now? You’re scenario is completely hypothetical. I want to see what we might be able to do now. If Caldwell proves he can’t do any better after the next couple games, you go back to Arch.
This also sends the message (which is long overdue) that positions are earned, not ordained.-

This offense is just full of JAGs. Arch looked a million times better last year with a solid Oline, elite WRs, and an actual TE. It’s not like the guy just decided to suck. He has nothing to work with.
He didn’t decide to suck, but he still does-

The post game presser tells all.
Complete lack of introspection, burying his head in the sand, saying “it’s the little things”, saying it was a culture win, etc.
There’s an air of him acting like this is the way he wants it to be, it just needs a few tweaks.-

Roma, the dude is late on everything. He is late on his reads. He is late on coming off his reads. He is late on his incompletions and he is late on his completions. He is just late. Everything is so slow, and a large part as to why the O-line looks the way it does. Blitzes and rushes that should never get home get there because he cannot get the ball out. For example, the play where he got sacked trying to throw to Livingstone coming across the formation, Parker was open on the break and Arch waiting until he was well past the center to throw it. If he throws it right away the rush never gets there and Parker is running for a 1st down. Its like he doesn't have the plays memorized and it just out there throwing to whatever he sees open like back yard football. There is zero pre snap recognition for what should be open. Its all just wait and see.
Exactly. And what do you do with a QB who is always late AND horribly inaccurate? There’s just not that many good options left.
He might be serviceable in a Veer and shoot offense where the read is simple, the field is spread and the route tree is pared down. But that obviously is not happening.-

I can excuse a guy running for his life and still trying to make throws down the field like in the Florida game. I can’t excuse missing wide open 5 yard drags and throwing it at guys feet. I’m not sure that Caldwell will be an improvement but there is literally no harm in trying. We won’t get any worse on that side of the ball. Will it ‘scare away’ Arch and his camp? So fucking be it. -

James Simon is basically Jerrick Gibson, thus far without the fumbling. I think until Baxter is back Simon was easily number 2 in line for carries, regardless of if Gibson stayed.
-
After rewatching I came away really impressed with Brooks, considering it was his first start. The difference between he and Stroh is night and day. Brooks keeps his feet moving and even when he loses at initial contact he is able to fight back to at least a draw. When he wins a rep he is able to latch on to the defender and not allow them to slide off because he doesn't lunge. Its the difference between a true athlete and just a 'large human'. The combo of Goosby and Brooks on the left side will prove to be an effective pairing as the year goes on imo. They are well suited for outside zone because they have plus athleticism. That is what was so odd about trotting Stroh out there, not only is he bad individually, he really doesn't pair well with Goosby or the rest of the line. -

3 hours ago, immamac said:This isn't a talent or athleticism issue. It seriously isn't. Its not like they went to Ohio State and got fucking handled. Get your shit together people. This has everything to do with a locker room issue. Arch started the season saying they weren't the ones with targets on their backs they are the ones with the scope. Then he proceeds to do his best Hudson Card at Arkansas impression in Columbus, has the yips for 2 more fucking games and is best known this season for flexing on a guy he outweighed by 40lbs. Who took the banner and ran with it? I don't see any of that shit anywhere. I don't see a lot of fire in their eyes. I see they are focused, I see they want to do well, but I don't see the energy or aura around this team or any players except for a handful. There is no flow state possible when you are playing like this. You can play like this after you've already figured out how to be dominant and that's the standard you are playing too while being serious and in control. These guys couldn't even dominate SJSU or SHSU and damn sure not UTEP on the lines, why the fuck are you thinking you can do it to Florida? The main thing win or lose I wanna see Saturday is the sideline in a fucking frenzy. I want these guys to look like rabid dogs ready go be let off the leash to rip the throats out of their deepest and most hated rivals. Anything in crimson and cream gets annilitated type energy. When I see that energy I'll start worrying about what else is wrong. There's no way you can tell me these offensive lineman are punishing the DL that lines up across from them and hitting them to be fucking mean and to block them. Until this team gives a shit, none of us should. sorry but the O line is severely lacking in talent and athleticism. As is the RB room. -

It is pretty insane how quickly things have gone sideways on Sark. That game felt like the Arkansas game in 2021, which is an order of magnitude less acceptable in year 5 than it is in year 1. It reeks of hubris and confirmation bias. -

I’ve also noticed the oddly paradoxical way that Flood’s ‘large humans’ end up being mere screeners. It feels like based on how he apparently coaches them up or selects by temperament that he’d be better served going after the smaller more nimble guys that grow into their frame like Sam Cosmi. -
