Wonder if we make a go at him…

I'm guessing he's never been in a fistfight in his life with the way he talks about it. I've been in more physical confrontations than I'd care to count and they were usually fucking terrifying.
Anyone who goes around talking constantly about wanting to fight people is telling us one of two things about them:
1) They're a sociopath with some element of bloodlust as a motivator to their behaviors. They are to be avoided, at least in terms of a physical confrontation, at all costs.
or
2) They've never really been in a fight in their life and they have no idea what they're talking about or asking for when they act interested in a physical confrontation. These types usually wind up fucking around more than they should and finding out. I'm kind of surprised that hasn't happened to Liucci before. Hell, maybe it has and he's simply too stupid to ever shut the fuck up.
Fighting nowadays is way different than when I was younger. People too quick to pull a gun out. No thanks.
When I was in highschool we had several instances where it would be group brawls vs other cities. Not fun…. Blindside shots everywhere. Even when you won, you lost to some extent. Galveston, Santa Fe, La Marque….. we had group brawls with em all. Look back now and say “wtf were we thinking”.

my wife asked me about it this morning and I originally said no, then saw the outrage so I immediately placed my order. Fuck social media!!
Step 1) Tweet out new Texas apparel with “embrace the hate” on the chest
Step 2) Start getting hate and outraged reply’s in the comment section by those who have zero context regarding why Texas would put that on the shirt
Step 3) Pull the tweet due to the backlash.
How the fuck are you going to post a shirt with the message “embrace the hate”, receive hate for it, and then fold? Do they not realize that they just did the complete fucking opposite of that? Bang up job, boys

I buy the kool aid on the roster for the most part. I think in hindsight the 10-win quality team assessment was right last year (Bama and TCU were straight up L’s to good teams; Tech and OSU not so much), there was just a tax to be paid for having Sark out there on game day.
It’s hard to shake the feeling that this year’s 10-11 win quality team doesn’t pay a similar Sark tax and end up at 8-9 wins. I think that’s the crux of it for pretty much anyone who’s bearish on the expectations.Texas spent more time in 12 personnel than almost every team in football last year. Is this the most effective package for a Sark offense to thrive? Not in my opinion… However, it was done out of necessity based on our roster. The loss of Neyor, OL youth/inexperience, and talent at RB dictated that 12 personnel was the best option with those factors taken into account.
I don’t disagree with those claiming Sarks coaching decisions last year may have cost us multiple W’s. However, I also realize he was operating in a system that doesn’t necessarily allow him to maximize his offense. That being said, he’s getting paid $5mill per year to make it work. People don’t want to hear excuses such as: “1st yr QB”, “young OL”, “no dependable WR3” (post Neyor injury), etc…
If people expect the the same “Sark tax” due to last seasons results, that’s fair. However, I tend to believe that this year’s personnel will allow for Sark to be able to offensively do as he wishes (without being restricted to 12 by necessity). Pair the roster upgrade at WR with experience at QB and OL, and I tend to believe those coaching mistakes to be minimized to a degree. When defenses have to account for more than a 2WR route concept, stopping the pass becomes more difficult

It's not just opposing fans. How much do you alienate your own fanbase letting him back on the sidelines, guilty or not? Perception is reality.
Just ask Cecilio Dominguez, a beloved fan favorite and franchise star. That was a 2022 case study on how fast shit can go south, and that happened right here in own own city with a shared fanbase. It got real ugly between club and fans when Austin FC tried to slowly bring him back. He now plays in Mexico i think.
Which is why I stated…

IMO the how or why don’t matter. Don’t lay hands on a woman. Take yourself out of the situation and leave.
"There’s no excuse for domestic violence." It sounds like a challenge. I mean, does everything have to be so black-and-white in this kindergarten country of ours? What if you come home from a long day at work and your wife has drowned two of your kids - she’s about to dunk the third one. Can you run over and pop her then? "Unfortunately no, there’s no excuse. You’re going to have to let her drown that third one." - Daniel Tosh

What matters is optics. How our program and athletics department as a whole is perceived. If Beard is retained this could, and would, be used against us in other sports in recruiting. This is why the clause was put in his contract that he can be terminated with cause for any conduct unbecoming his position, including just a felony arrest (regardless of a conviction).
Texas is a program that has garnered hate and jealousy from opposition well before this incident occurred (across multiple sports). Beard has the BBall team in top 10, recruiting like a stud in year 2, and indications of Texas becoming problem for years to come. I agree that optics are a factor in that Texas must choose the integrity of the brand over all else………. But the optics/opinions only really matter from those whom we attribute value to.
Letting outside opinion supersede the opinions of those within the University as to what action is to be taken…….. well……. I’ll pass. I trust our admin will make the decision that best suits Texas’ overall interest. The pros and cons will be discussed upon all relevant info being laid out before them. If we keep him and the worst thing to have to defend is other schools neg recruiting us, then that’s a victory IMO.
At the end of the day, I believe he’s only retained in a scenario where his oppositions only argument is “well he still shouldn’t have fought back against her, even if she was attacking him”. If that’s the case, the neg recruiting counter is rather easy.
