“ Well fellow whoopers, the pooch has been screwed once again. Don’t let this minor setback get you down though…… because the staff will continue to harass the shit out of the kid until he blocks their number. Remember, lot of season left……….we run the table, and watch out. Trust Jimbo!!” - Brauninger

I know Ceddy did his research and all but a sprain, by definable,  involves ligament damage.  Perhaps he means no visible damage.   The grading is the degree of identifiable damage on imaging.

With Thamel being the ewers family mouthpiece, is it far fetched for them to put out a timeframe for return on the lengthier side……… allowing the mullets legend status to increase even more when he comes back in less than half the timeframe?

Doctors attempting to find identifiable damage (hopefully):

I wanted to see more out of that diamond formation

Pshhhh…… this play isn’t even that great. You try to pull this off against UTSA, and watch what happens. I swear the underestimating of this UTSA team is beyond annoying. Yeah, with a 5* QB against Bama’s D this worked well. You think a 3rd string QB is able to fire off a (checks film again to see distance) 7 Yd fuckin scud missile? Laughable. Let’s not forget again that this is UTSA’s D with a lot of athletes everyone is overlooking. THEY WILL SHUT THIS SHIT DOWN!!! Quit fuckin overlooking them, people!!! This is super cereal!!

This team is too young to take anything for granted.
    This is UTSA’s Super bowl.
    First time starter at QB.
    Multiple key injuries.

We likely won’t jump on them early, and if they get into the endzone first, it gets interesting in a hurry.
We must dominate the LOS in this game early and often.

Strip sack to the house 1st drive. Blocked punt to the house 2nd drive. Interception taken back to the 10yd line. Charles Wright takes his first ever live snap, and hands it off to Bijan for 6.  21-0 good guys, with Wright taking one snap.

The fact that we were on QB3 and missing other key players won't even be a footnote in the narrative.

To be fair, aggy lost to AppSt while having to play QB3 as well. Now…..QB1 and QB2 for aggy were perfectly healthy, but it’s still a way Jimbo can counter the negative impacts of the loss

It's probably best for the team if Wright is able to start this week and we make it through UTSA so we have card rested and ready to go for conference play until Ewers is back.

Would be beneficial for multiple reasons.

    1) Allows staff to observe/evaluate Wrights ability to operate the offense (and identify strengths and weaknesses)

    2) Gives Wright live game experience/reps. Cards inability to remain healthy means Wright could be inserted on any play. I’d rather Wright get as much experience vs the least talented team on our remaining schedule, than to start Card this week…….only to have him go down vs Tech (which would then have Wrights first game action on the road vs a more talented squad)

We benefited playing ULL week 1 instead of week 3. Unfamiliarity was our friend in that game on both sides of the ball. ULL wasn’t aware we couldn’t set the edge worth a damn.

Not saying I expect UTSA to beat us, but the circumstances are different and I also think UTSA has more firepower offensively. I like their group of receivers.

Maybe so, but appears their firing pins (offensive line) are faulty/defective……crippling its ability to cause damage. We know first hand how that scenario plays out

I wouldn’t call it hilarious.  Should be expected if Sark and Milwee are the QB whisperers they purport to be.

I mean he’s not exactly a walk-in that didn’t have any offers and he played in Texas 6A.

Well if he one of those whose game enhances when it’s showtime, Card might fuck around and become 3rd string.

Well I'm sold on Wright.  Murphy is obviously the better athlete, but Wright has been with Sark for two years and knows the system better.  Start him and hope the defense can look as good as it did against Bama.

Coaches will expect/demand it (or they fuckin better be). Players also need to expect it from each other as well, and voice it when they observe differently.

Demand excellence!!! Once a player/position group displays they are capable of something, a new bar is set…… and that bar is now the minimum to be expected.

Ill go ahead and say right now that if we simply play the rest of the year defensively at the level we played at Saturday, we are in the B12CG. Not a doubt in my mind

This. There's a reason why he isn't gonna see the field this year. If we see Wright play well in this game, then next year a QB room of Ewers/Murphy/Manning/Wright looks elite.

Just gotta scrape together 8 wins this year, but I'm hopeful the run game is gonna come alive here soon.

I’m not conceding a single game at this particular moment. Having QB1 & QB2 both injured blows dick, but it’s the current hand dealt. I believe this team can win with Card up until the OU matchup (he got confidence points from me for how he handled himself against Bama). Our O-line will gel more and more each game that is played, and they’ve just passed their toughest test they will face.

So if Card needs an extra week…….. then let’s allow Wright to get a shot vs UTSA (assuming Sark signs off yada yada). If for some reason the football gods actually allow the ball to bounce our way……….then Quinn is cleared for OU, and the raping and pillaging commences.

I just don’t want a perfectly good football season to simply be a “well we improved some” year. It’s our last run with Bijan, and at this point, everything we want is still attainable.

If Malik is behind wright he should probably portal, especially with arch coming next year. I thought for sure he would be next in line. Guess not.

If they are tinkering with his throwing motion, then that’s a process in itself. Involves repetition over and over until it becomes natural w/o thinking about it. If he’s not 100% comfortable with that, then he doesn’t go out there. Instinct will have him reverting to what he has always done when live game speed is occurring. Then you will have him thinking about throwing it the new way at the same time. Basically it’s just a no for me, personally.

May not mean anything, but Jeff Howe said Card came to post-game without a boot or any kind of treatment (ice) on his ankle.

I mean ideally, you want Card to be as healthy as possible for conference play. On a macro level for W/L, this UTSA game means nothing (although optically and public perception are negatively impacted).

I wouldn’t mind starting Wright for the UTSA game and see how things play out. Maybe we can have the luxury of resting Card and still secure the win. If it’s obvious Card needs to get in there due to a shitshow being displayed, then whatever. Play it by ear though.

I don’t care what kind of rag tag shit we have to throw together, as long as we get wins. Our goal should be do whatever is necessary to hand the team back to Quinn in the best possible shape for a run at conference

  13. So we are heading into the UTSA game with the possibility of having to start QB3? Sonofabitch!!!

Ive got full confidence in sarks ability to scheme and cater the game plan according to who is taking the snap, but damn……….. we’re getting into “danger zone” areas of the depth chart.

You need make opponents have respect for the passing game to a certain extent, or that play sheet gets very compact and easier to defend. I think that as long as the QB can connect on throws in the 25yd range, Sark will be able to scheme effectively enough.

  14. Need to get some plays and packages together for Rojo to take some snaps. Get some Rojo in 2 back sets with Bijan and K.Rob/Brooks. Mix in some Marion Go-go, etc.

Gotta have a plan if QB2 goes down. If Maalik can get work and sark thinks he’s serviceable…. Then fine. However, if you are giving me the option of Wright vs Rojo…….. gimme Rojo all day.
