It will come down to our OL play. If they can give Ewers some time to throw, we will have a chance. If the OL plays like how they played last year against Arky, I am afraid Ewers will get flustered, and it will go downhill fast like Fat Ketch rolling down a hill. Have to protect the QB, which I believe we are capable of doing if the team believes in themselves.

Sark should have a flexible game plan offensively for this matchup. If he doesn’t, then I dunno what the fuck he was doing all off season. The install should have covered various formations and ensured that each QB knew multiple plays from each. After that, you expand on those for the more complex aspects that you wish for the QBs to eventually memorize.

This allows for your offense to adapt/adjust rather quickly on the fly in games where glaring issues arise. Knowing that the O-line situation could result in you fielding group of youth/inexperience, proactive solutions should already be in place.

    O-line protection decent/good? All plays /formations available

O-line protection average/poor? Narrow down to formations/plays that add pass pro assistance.

O-line getting absolutely obliterated? Nothing but plays that involve short/quick passes that prevent Defenders getting home, or max protect packages that have versatility within the package

There should be no scenario where an adjustment to the playbook cannot be made to handle the problem at hand.

Bama's defense is legit. Their offense run game is suspect though. Looking forward to seeing the PK/GP chess match w/ BOB on third and longs.

Hell, I dont even need to the outcome of a 3rd and long play. If you tell me the data sample size is 5+ instances, then I’ll take that all day

Quinn doesn't have the option of not hitting on those deep balls this week. All his passes of over 20 yds were yac by the WR/TE. That ain't gonna get it done

Speak for yourself………. I would gladly take 4+ consecutive passes that travel 3 yards in the air and 17 on the ground

The rare game where we have nothing to lose. Should be fun, let's see how far we are from being an elite program.

I hope Bijan has a big game.

I’d imagine Saban will gameplan to eliminate him and force any/everyone else to prove they can do it.

This is not true. Bijan was tackled for a loss on our 2nd offensive drive. Their CB blitzed from the boundary and tackled Robinson for a 3 or 4 yard loss. Keilan Robinson was coming on jet motion to that side, and the CB completely ignored him and Ewers as this was a straight hand-off with no RPO attached.

Then I stand corrected. However, the 4 rushing attempts that didn’t go for 5+yds is accurate. It wasn’t some kind of situation where a few anomalies are skewing data on a bunch of 1-2yd runs. 70%+ of the rushing attempts (pre-backups) went for 5+yds

The o-line looked like we had three new starters. Our per-rush numbers ended up pretty good, but there was a lot of feast or famine. We'd lose a yard and then gain 15. We got a third of our yards on three carries. Against ULM, that's not a good look. On a positive note,  for the most part it seemed to be busted assignments rather than guys getting beat one-on-one. That's easier to fix than physical limitations.

The starters played until midway through the 3rd Qtr before backups were inserted. Before the back ups came in, there were 0 rushes that lost yardage, and only 4 rushes that gained less than 5yds. Not really sure what your gripe is about

The emergence of JT Sanders is maybe the best news we got last night. An athletic TE with good hands is such a weapon. Gunnar Helm and Juan Davis are also great backups.

It’s certainly a valuable asset that’s been lacking on our roster for numerous years. The ability to have run/pass flexibility in personnel packages prevents the defense from diagnosing and adjusting pre-snap. Eventually, I’d assume Sark will have multiple run/pass options based out of one formation that he will allow Quinn to audible into based on defensive alignment . Probably nowhere near that stage at this point, though.

This is all true.  But it won’t matter when Bama’s multiple top 10 picks are going up against Cole Huston, Jake Majors, Christian Jones and a hobbled Kelvin Banks.  It’s going to be hard to run the ball and hard for Quinn to have more than 2 seconds to throw the ball.  Even if he gets time to throw, those Bama DBs are badasses.  If this game is within 3 TDs, give Sark and company a raise.

I was surprised/impressed with skill position blocking in yesterdays game (especially JWhitt). If Bama is just blowing us up on the line and living in our backfield, expect swing passes to the flats to be a sort of “extended handoff” to give the backs space. There are always adjustments that can be made to counter the opposition. Sark just needs to be able to identify and implement it. Can/will he? Time will tell.

Last night showed that Hudson card has no business anywhere near a football field.

Rumor is that it’s all psychological. He apparently freaks out and loses the ability to control his bowels when he believes he’s on a “football field”. Specialists have been tossing around the idea that if one could simply get Hudson to believe he’s on a “practice field”, rather than a “football field”, it’s a complete 180.

I'm in this camp, our oline is terrible, ULM had 3 sacks.. Bama is going to live in our backfield

    35-7 at half

52-17 final, we get some garbage points in the 4th

Offensive scheming and play designs to gain advantages is what Sark does. He’s not just going to allow Quinn to be a sitting duck back there while Bama defenders take turns teeing off on him. We are scoring atleast 3 TD’s on Bama this weekend. Book that fuckin shit
