  1. True. But Georgia was the only team to give us pass rush problems last year, and Florida was only rushing 4 much of the time and getting home. The OL blocked a basic rush well in the first game of the year against the #1 team, but couldn't block unranked 1-3 Florida who also didn't bring the house much. I think the team has worsened over time, which means improvement to the baseline is possible. That is at least something.
  2. Maybe, but is this what they were being taught last year? Were they taught the same thing against Ohio St? Pass protection was much better before with the same teacher.
  3. Yeah. Plus the DL held up against Ohio State. The issue isn't physical strength. It is mental and motivational. That is how Florida became better, right? Yes, it helped that Texas is in a funk. But 21-29 doesn't happen without Florida stepping up their play through coaching and attitude.
  4. How does anyone know what the S&C program is doing? Sark has coached in college for decades. He has won multiple national championships. Did he not know what kind of S&C they had at USC or Alabama? It seems very simple: increase strength, explosiveness, and endurance. Scipio/Paul mentions that the S&C coach is focused on bar speed with 135 lbs on bench. I'm sure he heard a coach reference that. But you can measure that after a basic strength program. You can have a base and then other fine tuning. I'm not saying they are strong, but last year strength wasn't a huge problem on the OL except for Hayden Conner. Majors wasn't super big, his strength was mobility. When you look at the pass plays many of them are due to a poor blocking system, lack of execution, and lack of aggression. The problem at LG was definitely lack of strength, but that could be due to Stroh not being good enough of Texas and Brooks is a Freshmen who hasn't learned enough pass technique. I think there is more room for improvement during the year than those guys are saying. But the coaches have to actually coach and motivate the players.
  5. Honestly, the same issues have been evident with PK's defenses at Texas since he got here. Overall the defenses of 2023 and 2024 were stout, no doubt, but game planning specific teams has never been something he does. If PK puts together a semi-decent gameplan Texas probably beats Washington in the 2023 play offs.
  6. I have noticed that OL recruiting hasn't been very good after Kelvin Banks and Cam Williams. Lots of big, heavy 3 stars, which means Kurt Flood has to develop them physically and technique-wise. Stroh, Robertson, Goosby, and Baker haven't been developed for strength. The penalties show the issue with technique training. College football is about coaches. They either got stupid or lazy.
  7. Arch practicing during the offseason. https://imgur.com/gallery/submarine-pitching-style-sl2rm
  8. Post Mortem's please if you can.
  9. Yeah. I see that. Hopefully he trends like Colt did.
  10. Yes. Ian Boyd got mad at me for it. I'm not saying Arch will end up like Garret, but that one game, he was closer to Garret than Colt
  11. Scipio noticed the poor throwing motion. Arch needs to bring the ball back by his ear and use a real throwing motion. He was literally shot putting balls most of the time. He even made some decent passes with the bad form. He might not have been dog crap if he would have thrown like every other QB I saw over the weekend.
  12. Simple fix for Arch. When you throw make sure your elbow is about shoulder height. The ball should be at head height. When he made throws in Ohio, his elbow was down by his ribs and the ball was shoulder height. It doesn't work for my 11 year old sold and it doesn't work for the starting QB of the University of Texas.
  13. Arch's throwing motion is garbage with every throw. I wonder what the paid Texas commentators are saying about it.
