Chris Brown is a bad bad man!  Not only did he ball out later in the year, he also had one of the best plays against LSU of all our DBs.  I think he’s going to play himself into the draft, no doubt in my mind.

Also funny to look back and recall he was supposed to be the package throw in to get Dontavius Jackson

  2. Interesting to hear LSU might be interested in Cain. I like that dude, I get that people think he’s slow, but I was impressed with his highlights - just makes plays and IIRC there’s a decent number of plays of him putting someone on their ass which is a way underrated skill for a WR.

Im surprised his offer list looks like it does unless he’s just one of these kids that doesn’t report his offers.

  3. So if ACC/Big 12/SEC all play, and PAC and BIG don’t (I don’t see how a spring season is realistic) how does NCAA handle eligibility and roster numbers?

Are they going to allow the schools that don’t play to have a bunch of 6 year guys and rosters over 85 the next few years? If not, I don’t see how there’s not a mass exodus from those leagues.

This isn’t a massive loss in and of itself, but that 2019 class is getting murdered by attrition.

It’s almost like having to largely rely on OOS backup plans when you miss on all your in-state targets because you went 7-6 the year before can backfire.

The real bummer in this is 3 of the losses have been freak health issues. Then Shepherd was the flakiest of flakes who was always unlikely to maximize his potential.

im interested in how the sec defenses look in the next few years now that more and more sec teams are running a more spread, uptempo style offense.

It won’t matter; the narrative will change to “the future of football!” And how exciting these 52-48 games are. When it was happening in the B12 it was a gimmick though.

You already saw it last year; how many times did you hear Burrow is a system qb? Yet that’s all anybody could say about Mahomes or (to a lesser extent) Murray who are both better than Burrow.

I’m gonna go wash my mouth out now for saying something nice about that Sooner fuck.

They have no idea. Just collective bitching about the Oyetade non-offer.

All the bitching about Oyetade would make sense if we were some kind of outlier in not offering, but most teams have passed. His 247 shows 6 P5 offers the best of which is probably Az St or Virginia.

I haven’t personally watched his Hudl, but seems to be some star-gazing after 247 gave him a large bump.

Hilariously they took scrub big bro to get this kid and (per the twitters) he just got a basketball offer from Baylor.

Even as someone who loves football, I’d have to look hard at playing basketball in college instead if I got the chance. Even if you think you don’t have NBA potential, there’s an established precedent of CBB > NFL for TEs.

People act like Texas is unwilling to make changes. They've been renaming buildings and tearing down statues for years. More needs to be done but the idea they aren't willing to make changes is simply incorrect. Then go look at Hartzell's history in the business school.

When students were vocal about Simkins they made changes. When students were vocal about the confederate statues they made changes. When students were vocal about the Jefferson Davis statue they made changes. Where are all these "empty promises"? And I'll be the first to criticize Texas if changes aren't made in reference to the players demands.

They need to work to help these guys understand this. This is an ongoing process and there is a precedent in place so while it might taken longer than any of us like, it’s the proper way to go about things. Instead it sounds like they told the players “yeah, yeah, we’re working on it. Now get back to practice.” I can understand their skepticism.

Davis to Auburn, he did pull an Erick Young. What an obnoxious move.

Lol well yeah, his top 3 were 2 schools that wouldn’t take his commitment and the school he just decommitted from so don’t think anyone is too surprised.

  10. Kid shows some really nice hands and a willingness to play with some physicality blocking - though its impossible to tell if he plays with that temperament all the time, which is a hell of a lot more important than being able to do it once in a while.

Of all the years this is probably the one where the “rankings don’t matter” stuff is true (I think we all know these services rely too much on camps). That said, that offer list doesn’t inspire much confidence. Looking back at some of Coleman’s recruits at K state, he didn’t show some innate ability to uncover hidden gems.. he did get NFL guys in Byron Pringle (twice actually, once while at Youngstown St then again after he went JUCO) and Dalton Schoen, but he was a walk on.

Don’t mean this as an indictment of Casey, but what I really don’t get is our staff’s insistence on signing big, slow receivers when rule changes in recent years clearly favor faster, quicker guys as less physicality is allowed. Having one of those guys is fine but we seem to sign at least one a class while lacking many speed guys on the outside.

Looks like about 75% of the top 25 type programs all started following him after his LSU offer. He's about to blow up. I'd get on him as Ibraheem/Harmon insurance.

Putting on my satya hat real quick - why the fuck is LSU uncovering diamonds in the rough in our hone state, especially at a position that’s very weak compared to years past??

Cupp plus Wyder is was about as good of a TE class as I’ve seen, and Jimbo’s offense uses two way TEs better than perhaps any offense in college, at least up there with ND and Stanford

Crownover and the katy kid are a far cry from that class

What’s the prognosis on Cupp? Back 100% after the leg injury?

  13. It’s hilarious that they’re bitching about this as it relates to Bru when they went down the exact same way - LOI at different school, then enrolled somewhere else.

Also why are these dorks still so frothy about Bru? We totally ended up being the butt of that joke, they should be delighted by the way his saga happened.
