This is a man who sent pictures of his hands to a journalist for like 20 years after said journalist once wrote that he had short fingers.  Letting things go is not his strong suit.

Yep, Trump is a short-fingered vulgarian. He'll lie about it and obsess over it until the end of his days.

Not a fan of free speech I see

I see you are yet one more in a long string of enabling right wing dipshits who don't know that "free speech" protects someone from the government telling them what they can and can't say.

"Free speech" doesn't mean the media has to keep scheduling the same liars who have repeatedly mislead them and it has fuck all to do with what we discuss on here.

  3. Yes. We all also remember that the GOP set lying about a blowjob as the standard for impeachment.

    For the GOP

Lying about a blowjob = impeachable offense, Bad!

Fucking everything this country used to stand for up the ass with no lube, or reacharound = Troubling at first, but one they find out no reacharound, Good! A reacharound would make it gay.

Line them up in parallel processes and just keep firing them one at a time

    I agree with this.

First, loudly tell anyone who will listen that the Senate has sold their souls and will not remove Trump, no matter the offense. Regardless of this, the House will do it's constitutional duty and lawfully impeach a criminal president.

Next, impeach him for his conduct over Ukraine and send it to the Senate. While the Senate is discussing and voting on it, impeach Trump for another heinous act (some of the NRA/Russia stuff would be perfect), keeping the GOP and Trump on the defensive. This sucks all the air out of the room and the media will follow the shiny new toy, dominating media coverage.

Repeat 3-4 times on the worst stuff and drag it out for the next 6 months or so.

Then, publicly announce that the current Senate refuses to hold a criminal president in charge, making them accomplices to Trump's crimes. The american people must vote in both a Democrat as president and a Democrat controlled Senate to restore dignity to the country.

  5. They are saying they are releasing the whole complaint, but I'll be shocked if they do that.

They'll run the Bill Barr defense. Release a portion of the evidence and spin it.

I think they are actually going to release the transcript only. It won't have an explicit quid pro quo in it and they'll tell us it is all overblown.

We'll only see the entire complaint if Congress forces the issue and aggressively manages the message.

Agree 100%. But it’s obvious that the report isn’t being released because of the White House.

Laws require law abiding human beings to enforce them. Law abiding human beings are in short supply in the Trump regime. Dems need to put the full-court pressure on.

    Fuck if I know.

But if have to call shots now.  Pence resigns and Trump appoints Don Jr. as veep.  Trump then resigns for health reasons/dementia.  Don Jr. runs in 2020 on how mean the lamestream media was to his poor, martyred father whose health was destroyed by the fake news enemy of the people.  We get at least 8 more years of Don Jr., shaking down the taxpayers and funneling money into his businesses, and by 2028 there'll be nothing left of the Constitution.

It'd be Ivanka way before Jr. Fuck this timeline and the fact that this is even a serious point of discussion.

  8. He's not resigning, he'll be in a jail in New York shortly after. I have no idea what Pelosi and co will actually do, but the correct answer is...

    1) Put the Senate's shit on blast. Go on the offensive and control the message. Repeatedly say that no crime is high enough for the Senate, because of their corruption, but Democrats will do their constitutional duty regardless.

    2) Assemble every impeachable offense into a single cohesive narrative.

    3) Give Trump and the Senate death by 1000 cuts through weeks-months of hearings. Turn over every stone, sequentially, in public and show us all the slime underneath it. Do this until the GOP cries uncle, or the public demand to remove him is utterly overwhelming.

It would put real pressure on the Senate to end it all, as the hearing goes on and it looks worse and worse for them.

Lulz pls read the thread before commenting. Start with the comment I was responding to. Have a good day

I'm not discussing your other petty posts on the thread, I'm addressing the one at the top of this page where you accused me of lying.

You then immediately lied about what I said. I'd say that reflects rather poorly on your overall argument.

    Stop spreading lies and misinformation.

Pelosi is not ok with trump’s behavior.

That is dangerous bullshit. The right is pushing the divide the left narrative to get folks to stay home in 2020. You would make them proud.

No matter how strong your emotions get about disagreeing with Pelosi and the majority of the House, don’t lie.

Stop spreading lies yourself before accusing others of it. I didn't say Pelosi was ok with Trump's behavior. Here's what I said. "Pelosi is wringing her hands and doing nothing."

In fact, I said she's upset about it and wringing her hands, but doing nothing else. Perhaps nothing else was a bit strong, but she's not effectively exercising either her bully pulpit or Speaker position to lead and do anything about it.

You're delusional if you don't think Pelosi has been sitting on her hands. She has been completely content to let the next election decide the issue and her actions have all been consistent with that view.

If she finally is going to move on impeachment now, good, but it's a shit load easier to pass on 1st, 2nd or 3rd downs than it is to wait and throw on 4th and long.

Negged for lying and spreading misinformation

In what world is that lying and spreading misinformation? Trump IS actively cheating in the 2020 election. Trump IS using Congressionally approved funding to hold Ukraine hostage and force them to investigate his political opponent in order to receive that funding. Ukraine has been forced to withdraw troops from sovereign Ukrainian territory, conceding it to Putin and the Russian invaders. Pelosi is wringing her hands and doing nothing.

    Those are all facts.

can someone explain why trump cares about any ties biden has to the ukraine?

is he under the impression that dirty ties to a foreign entity can cost you a presidential run?

    A few things.

    1) He knows Democrats care and wants to force them to be hypocritical, or turn on Biden and eliminate who he views as his biggest, or second biggest threat.

    2) Makes it into a both sides argument. If voters decide they are all corrupt, they won't care about his corruption as much.

    3) He's trying to spin the ridiculous argument that Ukraine and Russia actually interfered to help Hillary.

I don't think a committee can do that. Only Congress can.

So what? The House is in session and the last I checked, your bff Pelosi is still in charge of setting the agenda. Go hold a vote. It's not like it's any surprise that Lewandowski lied, evaded questions and falsely claimed executive privilege. Every witness has run the same script. These assholes are going to keep doing it until there are actual consequences.

A legit reason that Congress (House Ds) doesn't go balls to the wall on subpoenas and other enforcement matters is that the extent of those powers is not well defined.  Taking something to court, or pushing it to a level where someone else takes it to court (arrest by Sergeant-At-Arms and habeas corpus) risks clarifying and placing limitations on those powers as much or more than it may permit comeuppance for certain witnesses and their puppetmasters.

When the investigative and enforcement powers are blurry, it makes for a lot of bluster, which Congress has always loved.

I get what you are saying here, but Democrats face the reality of needing to test whether the courts will uphold their actions, rather than getting steam rolled while wondering if the courts would enforce X, Y and Z. Inherent contempt has been upheld twice by the Supreme Court, granted it was in the 1920s and 1930s, but there is still strong precedent on this. They can keep passing the ball around the perimeter looking for a better shot, but the shot clock is winding down on them.

Lewandowski would have been a great person to start enforcing this on, because he is an admitted liar, a hostile and combative witness and has ZERO claim to executive privilege, because he never served in any part of the executive branch.

    Quote

Congress’s inherent contempt power is not specifically granted by the Constitution, but is considered necessary to investigate and legislate effectively. The validity of the inherent contempt power was upheld in the early Supreme Court decision in Anderson v. Dunn and reiterated in McGrain v. Daugherty. Under the inherent contempt power the individual is brought before the House or Senate by the Sergeant-at-Arms, tried at the bar of the body, and can be imprisoned or detained in the Capitol or perhaps elsewhere.79The purpose of the imprisonment or other sanction may be either punitive80 or coercive.81 Thus, the witness can be imprisoned for a specified period of time as punishment, or for an indefinite period (but not, at least by the House, beyond the end of a session of the Congress) until he agrees to comply.

  14. Possibilities for the promise(s) Trump made to a foreign leader

    1) Identity and repatriation of CIA source within the Russian government

    2) Promise the US would withdraw from the INF, which allowed the Russians to openly test rather than just covertly violating the agreement as they've been doing for years.

    3) Promise to drop sanctions on Russia, renormalize relations, and/or readmit Russia to the G7

    4) Promise to stop aiding Ukraine against the Russian invasion and illegal annexation of Crimea

    5) Pressure on Ukraine to reopen investigation of Hunter Biden and/or give Trump dirt to hurt Joe
