I had no idea that Griffin was still in the league.
In eight of his 15 seasons, not including this season in which he has not played, he played in fewer than 50 games.
You might want to redo this one...
He played in 13 seasons and in 2017-18 he played in 58 games between the Clippers & PistonsHe did have 4 seasons with less than 50 games played in the 13 however...

I'm sure it's been discussed on this thread but is there any particular reason we haven't signed Brandon Belt by now? I'd rather have him than Singleton and I'd rather have him start than Abreu....

Do you risk tanking the 7/8 game if you're NO or LA?
The 7 seed is a death sentence - meanwhile - OKC can probably be had.
I'm hoping LA loses to NOLA and then Sacramento that way we get rid of the two hyper annoying fanbases in the Western Conference. Unfortunately the Celtics aren't going fishing anytime soon...

Man y'all want to overreact both ways LOL.
This team is who we thought they were which is young, talented, and poorly coached (by the previous regime). Ime will make some big strides in fixing the latter deficiency but they still have a ways to go.
I remain optimistic that they can get to .500 or really close this year. Don't expect to learn much with NO in town but the next two games (three if AD can come back) should tell us a lot more between facing the defending champs and then hopefully the healthy veteran laden LA squads on the road.
Was an interesting year for sure had streaks both good and bad. Couldn't buy a game on the road for the first month and a half till they beat the defending champs in Denver which was wild. The 2.5 month stretch from Mid-Dec through Feb was brutal going 12-25 but somehow they pulled out of that tailspin and went 13-1 in the next 14 games to get back above .500 and add some excitement to the end of the season. Definitely have plenty to work on this offseason and plenty to build on.

Not sure if this guy's math is right but it seems plausible just we won't know officially till the play in games are done....
Basically 93% chance OKC gets our pick unless Chicago or Atlanta advance then it drops to a 90.6% chance OKC gets our pick. -

in case you missed it, or better yet if Boban missed it --
nice gesture from a very nice guy BUT clock had 4:44 left in game and we only up 105-97 on the road. Could have cost the game and a chance at 0.500. Not sure if the wisest decision but still won.
The Clippers have a promotion in which all fans receive a free Chick-fil-A sandwich if an opposing player misses two consecutive free throws in the fourth quarter. After missing his first free throw, Marjanovic obliged by missing the second throw after clearly being aware of the promotion.
Marjanovic even pointed to the crowd in celebration after bricking the second free throw.
Marjanovic, who played for the Clippers from 2018 to 2019, clearly had a soft spot for the crowd. He acknowledged that he was aware of the promotion, and was happy to award the crowd some free chicken sandwiches.
I mean who really cares about the .500 mark? We were 5 games back of the Warriors was the only thing that really mattered and we were so far ahead of the rest of the lottery teams it was a no-op even if we lost.
Here is the inline footage..... -

I think it depends on the player. If you're a guy like Singleton, Meyers, Dubon, Abreu, etc, don't swing. If you're a badass hitter in top 4 of the lineup, swing away.
Yeah to me it's an on base percentage question. If you get on base >= 35% of the time then I think you should have the freedom to make the call

This too lol

He was also my stats professor in late 90s and I remember he said that he most definitely did not prove OJ was innocent but that the sample that was proclaimed as a million to one was more like 75,000 to one.
I remember he said how masterful a job OJ’s lawyers did because they kept proving how wrongly inflated the odds were and how clearly wrong the defense was….all so that no one would notice how ridiculous 75,000 to one (still way guilty).
Jay showed us the footage and yes it was basically with the lab having a 5% chance of error being so much more statistically significant than the DNA profile matching you can absolutely just throw the DNA profile match out and focus only on the lab error.

Wasn't meant to be rude, although certainly reads that way (my bad), and maybe I was overvaluing in my mind what "org top 10" meant - because this is obviously highly dependent on the org. My issues were mostly with the position players, as pitching return is always highly driven by what else is out there. Frankly I just don't think Meyers has any value outside this organization, and as much as I love Chas and Pena, I think their returns would shock (in a bad way) many who are still attached to their postseason heroics.
And on Javier - I have no idea what to make of him. There was a time when I thought he was a future Cy Young candidate and now I don't know if he's actually any good at all. He's someone who could potentially fetch a ransom from the right team (if we eat some money) or he could be priced as the lottery ticket that he appears to be.
All of this only my opinion, obviously.
Reggie Jackson, apparently.
I have always been a huge Reggie Jackson fan for his fuck you pay me attitude during the 70s but at this point I wouldn't even listen to my own father for advice at his age and he's 7 months younger than Reggie.

Rangers then Braves. I’d be happy with 3-3 after those series but it could get worse.
Shit 3-3 seems like a miracle right now.

Our pitching is so bad they just left him in there. Also, nobody has signed Bauer since I suggested it yesterday.
I mean signing Bauer might make me want to Edward Norton Fight Club myself but at the same time we're so shitty with an entire starting 5 on the IL that I'm not opposed like I normally would.

Bandwagon? I have been a fan of this team for 40 years. Those of us criticizing the team are lifelong fans that have stuck by this team through years of shitty to mediocre baseball. That’s why it hurts so damn much that we’re not getting as many WS trophies as we can during this golden era. I am confident that I’ll never see an Astros team as good as 2019 ever again in my lifetime and you can’t convince me otherwise that we should have won the WS series last year if we had a competent manager.
Been going to the dome with pops since before I can even remember being there. Stood in line for hours to get Nolan Ryan to sign his autobiography throwing heat only to have them cut the line off like 4 people ahead of us. My old man then looks at Nolan and says "Hey man you're his hero" and so Nolan waves me over asks me my name and signs my book. I was always rocking my Astros gear on the beach in St Thomas during the 100+ loss years. I never expected the 7 straight ALCS run but damn if 2023 (putrid roster management) and 2019 (WTAF) don't sting it would have been sweet to have been sitting there alongside the Yankees dynasty from 1996-2003 (4 WS wins, 6 ALCS wins) instead we are going to be looked upon as 2nd fiddle despite the historic consistency.

I doubt unlike that old stooge he would need a security detail to deal with that inaccurate riff raff.- 1

...will you start following, hating, making fun of, SEC teams more than BIG12 teams? For instance, will you be more interested in the success or failure of Auburn, Arky, Miss St, and Vandy than Baylor, TCU, Tech and UH?
Or will proximity bias still tie you to regional teams rather than conference teams?
I live in Nashville so the Texas teams don't mean shit to me other than how they affect the success of TEXAS athletics and now they don't so I don't give a shit at all.
Thoughts?
All I care about is that we are more successful than all the "new" SEC teams (Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and to a much lesser extent South Carolina)
Now I also would like to be more successful than the traditional SEC powers (Alabama, Georgia, LSU, ...) but we haven't exactly set the Big 12 on fire with 4 football conference championships so I'm OK with baby steps first which is just beat the other n00bs to the prize and do so consistently. -

Jay Koehler was my statistics prof at UT and one of my favorite teachers. He was on OJ's defense team...
Didn't realize he made it into law and teaches at Northwestern now. Good for himhttps://www.law.northwestern.edu/faculty/profiles/JonathanKoehler/

They earned it for sure. I still would like to see them hire a President of Basketball Operations to run the front office and keep dipshit Fertita at bay just signing checks and keeping the trains running.
