We are going in January with a big group for the birthday of one of my wife's friends.  Will be around Magazine St a lot.  I know about Sucre, Shaya, Domenica, District Donuts and La Petite in that area.  Any other good places to eat?  What bars or other things to do in the area?  Probably won't go anywhere super nice on this trip because of the group.

Seems obvious, but hit the Sazerac bar before Domenica, since they're in the same hotel (Roosevelt). I love the chargrilled oysters at Drago's, may wanna give 'em a try.

Beaty is self-scouting the Horns, not OU. Which makes this whole thing utterly regarded.

Actually, he also sent us his OU scouting report, which is the key to understanding how to beat them:

    Spoiler

    OU SUCKS!

God. I'd almost forgotten about that--the night the wheels finally came spinning off on the Akers era. The only bowl worse is the 1991 Cotton Bowl against Miami.

I was at that Cotton Bowl.

Yeah I was there, too. Miserable game to go with the miserable weather. The only thing I remember cheering for was the personal foul and unsportsmanlike penalties against Miami, of which there seemed to be eleventy billion.

In the Tx/Ou game in 03 it was garbage time and Ou scored a late TD running up the score.. I believe Williams was the guy that crushed the RB well after he scored and thinking to myself the guy was a monster and he was gonna bring the attitude we need to flip this series around.

I felt the same way, which is rare for me to cheer for a bad sportsmanship type of penalty. But it demonstrated a fight that nobody else was showing. And I'm fairly certain it was Aaron Harris.

Yep. We almost beat them last year because of him, and they were so much better than us.

Wasn't he the punter that dropped the snap in 2015?

Yep, good snap at shoulder level and center of his body, but went right through his hands. He ran it down and barely got off the punt for -6 yds to our 18 yd line with 0:36 left in game. We were tied at 27, so it would likely have been OT, but they kicked an easy game winning FG. That was extra reason I wanted him to play a large role in beating them later.

Guy just asked if Sam hurt his shoulder after leaving the game

Weird...but to be fair, they TV seemed fixated on the bleeding hand. I didn't know about shoulder but wondered why it was hanging oddly after CJ's TD. And reading on surly confirmed the shoulder problem.

  7. 1. I love wheel routes. My favorite was McCoy to Charles in 2006 Alamo Bowl. I know that it's well known that Charles is super fast, but it's still amazing to watch how quickly he gets into his route on the sideline despite being rerouted after the fake handoff.

    2. Beck had such a great game. I wouldn't give him Offensive MVP for the game, but definitely Honorable Mention.
