As many have pointed out, fuck that conference pride bullshit.  That being said, the wife's (no pics) family are Gators.  So, I have pulled for them and have no issues doing so as long as they are not playing Texas and their winning does not affect Texas.

  2. Hell of a year.  Agreed on the rebuilding year points and yet we were battling for a World Series spot until the end.  This team showed all of the inconsistencies and greatness of what it could be all year and we got a glimpse of it all this last series.  That does NOT include the last play.

I've spent time in the outfield in baseball and in softball.  You are going to lose a ball.  It is terrifying and helpless when it happens but it does happen.  Can't imagine what those dudes are going through.  But if you can't see it, you can't see it.    To be called 'chokers' says more about the people labeling them that.

  3. I don’t know. They’re doing Yellowstone over the next week. They went to the Jackson Hole rodeo yesterday. They sent that pic from their drive this morning. Edit:  her reply to my “what is that barn?” text:  “Mouton barn… it’s like one of the most famous things about Grand Teton.. not sure about it being in movies, but it’s like quintessential Wild West pioneer America.”

    Another one.

I was in that same area 4 years ago to the day.

  4. and to be clear, you go in the water, sharks are in the water...  I have seen lots of bull shark pups swimming up and down the shore in Destin in a about 2-3 feet of water.  Never bothered me or my family.  Water is clear and you can keep an eye on them.    Although in Mexico Beach one time, I swear I got bumped by one.  Water was unclear and next to a fresh water source.

And there was this...I was out about chest deep a few years ago and saw a 8-10 foot Tiger cruising on the top about 20 yards away on the gulf side of me.  It was headed towards other family members about 100 yards away as it went below the surface.  I tried to get their attention but fortunately nothing happened.

allegedly he died.  so don't watch if you don't want to see that.  it's not graphic but it's traumatic.

Might want to put that at the top...

In your defense, futureman, I did not see the entirety of the post before clicking on the video.

People who speed on residential streets should be shot

Yep, I have started walking a lot more these days around my neighborhood and the one next to it.  See at least a handful of speeders during that time walking.

In addition the road that both these neighborhoods are off of (and another across that street) is treated like the autobahn.  Not uncommon to be clear of traffic (bit of blind curve approaching our main entrance) and start turning on to this road and have someone bearing down on you going 15+ over the speed limit.

This is the same road that I have mentioned before where people on the outer apex of a curve like to cross the double line.  I don't know how many times we have had to make evasive maneuvers because of this.   Surprised there has not been a head on collision at this point especially with all the idiots moving into the area.

That would be the stand up paddleboarders. ***

***Except for the few like the chick I saw in Maui years ago... First day we woke up in Hawaii, looked out the bedroom window facing the Pacific and saw this woman dressed in traditional skirt and bikini top with a lei and a flowered crown on a paddleboard.   She was surfing and paddling back out like it was nothing but a typical Saturday morning errand run.  Every time I see a paddleboarder else where, I laugh at them knowing there's no fucking way they could do what that woman could do.

  8. Enjoyed the finale.  It will be interesting to see what comes next out of this universe.

Stuff that makes me want to watch again...

When Mae straightened the picture of Geronimo on the wall, it was a direct reference to the last episode of Cheers.  Also, Rupert Mannion... the last name is a name used by Sam Malone when he would sign in to hotels - Lance Mannion.  A little more on the nose is the Sam and Rebecca relationship on Cheers and Ted Lasso.

  9. Not trivial... but surly worthy and beyond.

We were driving to a basketball tournament on Saturday headed north on Mopac just south of Slaughter.  Traffic was light to medium moving about 70 mph.  Apparently it was not fast enough for some cocksucker on a crotch rocket who decides to ride the white center stripes at around 100 through about a dozen cars scattered in both lanes.

  10. Apologies if this has been brought up before... I was in the China Spring area a couple of weeks ago and hit up 'Sundays'.  Looks like it is an abandoned used car lot on the outside.  Had fried shrimp.  Wife had cheeseburger.  Both were worth the stop.
