Leal specifically mentioned in his tweet "financial" considerations. Is his family to poor to get to Austin as opposed to CS? Or does aggy have their own Uncle Red?
He wants a business degree and to make lots of money after college.EDIT: I'm a dumbshit, I read Nana instead of Leal. I think ole DeMarvin got the "you're a guaranteed starter year one, so you'll make NFL bucks, plus aggy network"

The dude nicknamed Prison racking up academic awards every year is always a delight

Yeesh. Looks like the door has closed for good here. Seeing Leal + Stripling + Mowry all end up in CS hurts.
Wonder if we go harder after Carl Williams nowMan, where's all the Giles moaning and gnashing of teeth (NOT that I think it would really be justified). Since we got Coburn and Ossai never actually committed to the ags we were actually in a better spot last year.

aggy has nine commits. Five have Texas offers. Texas has four commits. All four have aggy offers.
Yeah people aren't even counting Floyd since he didn't bother to visit aggy, despite the fact they'd take him in an instant.

It'll be nice when Leal's commitment today brings all the doommongers in to overwhelm the annual Stanford conversation.

reading Nahlin and Wells' comments on the Higgins thread, it's evident that this probably isn't happening any longer. It looks like a class of Whittington, Wright, Ellis, and Jake Smith is the path forward. That still wouldn't suck at all. Pulling Smith out of AZ won't be easy, though.
I'm not hopeless about Wilson yet, though. We still have our OV to strike back with.

What in the fuck did I just click into? A debate about the efficacy of taking a proven grad transfer at TB when we have scholarships available? What the fuck is going on here?
Whole lot of pessimism and stupid on the board right now. People honestly wondering if Herman will put on a fun recruiting experience this weekend when he literally has a 100% track record of that over the past year. Pets heads falling off.

No, it instills very little confidence on the RB’s currently on campus. Considering our QB was our leading rusher last season, it seems rather reasonable actually.
When we have exactly one non-freshman that counts as a workhorse back, getting a guy with the below profile even just as injury insurance is sensible, yes.
QuoteA consensus mid three-star prospect out of high school, Watson was also recruited by schools like Boise State, BYU, Washington, and Washington State. After arriving in Berkeley, Watson carried the ball 25 times as a freshman before emerging as a sophomore with 89 carries for 504 yards and three touchdowns, along with 100 yards and a touchdown as a receiver. In 2016, Watson turned 143 carries into 709 yards and four touchdowns, while also expanding his ability as a receiver with 241 yards and another touchdown through the air. On special teams, Watson has 657 career kickoff return yards.
Perhaps best all, Watson only fumbled once over the 249 that represented his last three seasons.

So, why exactly, did Texas sign one RB last cycle if the position is in this rough of shape? Relying on Johnson or Houston for production seems rather ridiculous.
Ingram wanted to be the sole take and it's not a tire fire, Watson is just a really quality upgrade.

I always assumed Herman's "it won't be a big recruiting event" was in regards to official visits, but I could have easily misread what he was getting at
It's this. Herman doesn't like OVs on game weekend because he's naturally distracted by actual coaching. It'll be a big recruiting deal at the Carrington/Langi level and in terms of making sure everyone has dope UVs.
It's shocking how (Leal aside), people are panicking about a thing we all knew was coming - other schools getting momentum back because they blew their load. Look at all the kids aggy had to blow their OVs on early.

But I thought Charlie killed it in recruiting. I confoosed.
He recruited a lot better than late-Mack but his classes turned out to be pretty unbalanced, with some questionable mental evals (hello 2016 DL class)

Where did that narrative come from?? Pretty sure I know the answer, (they dreamed it in they head) but is there anymore to it than just coming out of nowhere?
It's been going on since we made him the interim 10th coach and slept all they recruits before NSD2

Wow, getting any Mississippi kid to go outside of the SEC or FSU is pretty rare.

I remember Hudson being a Baylor commit. Thought he came over with duvernay(s) after the Briles rape scandal
Hudson was at first an aggy commit. Although it was said he literally just committed so Sumlin would stop giving him the hard sell on his first visit there.
