  1. This is what I find interesting.  Mich always portrayed itself as above the whole win-at-all-costs thing.  They always pointed at Ohio State and derided what they outwardly viewed as a decidedly lower-class “aint come here to play school” mercenary mentality.
Then along comes this year and their coach gets “suspended” for half the season for various forms of cheating.  And they win a championship.

I get that the “cheating” in both instances was kind of chicken-shit and ridiculous, but it’s exactly the kind of thing Mich fans always point to as evidence that others are “doing it the wrong way” and “only care about winning” when you talk to rhem.
If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying hard enough 9ba92be40b32c545bbae4cf745bfac59.gif
  2. Irritated about the Peacock game.  Don't want to sign up for $5.99/month.  Yet, I paid $30 for a month of Flosports (twice!) to watch the worst college baseball production in history.
But its a great matchup on a Saturday night and my kids will kill me if I don't.

  3. Eh, I think it was a dick move and not surprised ole crab legs is the one to do it. I mean lining up and running the ball is one thing but lining up in victory formation and then sneaking a run in for a TD is another thing. The Falcons coach overreacted though.
The bigger dick move is kicking the XP. Okay, so the players got their guy a TD. But he stood there and let them kick the XP without saying a word. If it was unsanctioned, he wouldn't have kicked the XP.
  4. Dream vs Shaq is an easy call. If the game is tied in the last few seconds and you coach Shaq's team, you're going to send the double team when Hakeem gets the ball. If you're coaching the other team, you don't have to send the double team to help Dream--you can hope for a steal, block, altered shot, or something from Dream, who is clutch. And then there are free throws and the basketball elegance of Dream over the brute force of Shaq.
To me, Duncan is the toughest Top 10 call. Lots of accolades and accomplishments, and he did make clutch shots--but he missed some clutch free throws. Also, he often took the easier big man defensive assignment, particularly in the playoffs. You almost never saw him guard the best post player all game. Nit-picky, yeah, but we are talking Top 10. And how do you factor the cultural significance of Dr. J?  Anyway, here are my Top 10:
    1. Jordan
    2. Magic
    3. LBJ
    4. Bird
    5. Olajuwon
    6. Kareem
    7. Russell
    8. Wilt
    9. Shaq
    10. Duncan
Dr. J, Oscar, and Kobe are next. I don't think Steph is Top 10 material and KD will have to do a few more things before he works his way up to consideration.
Speaking of Hakeem, the first 3:40 of this video are something else.

That first basket where he uses his dribble to create space and then the 2nd where he drives and dunks are why he is the best big man to me. What other big man could do that with his grace and athleticism? Then come down and beat you with a post up game that couldn't be stopped.
  5. How nice is it that Bud's team gave the Texans a division title? 🤣

I fully expected that bastard to rise from the grave and demand that they lose, just to fuck Houston one more time.

  6. Honest opinion.
Thoughts on the game Saturday?  I’m not as optimistic as ESPN.  I don’t know, maybe if it was a home game.
I hope they remember the first game against Indy and pay it back.
