  1. Is this suppose to be evidence? The penalties not called are on the refs moron. Not on the school. You tech folks really try to live up to the reputation of being idiots…..

  2. 2008 Tech game was also quite an exposition in two sets of rules.  The Tech O-line was allowed to do anything they wanted including wrestling moves and they let them get away with it, even when they injured Orakpo.  On top of that, they penalized Texas for holding which was not holding just to drive the point home that the fix was in.  They put the thumbs on the scale for that game.  We still had a chance but, had the game been called correctly, it wouldn't have been close.
Tech mysteriously wasn't called for holding that game which was an aberration from all their previous games and IIRC the games after that.

Those Red Raiders were a bunch of damn cheaters. . .

  3. Wow. Wonder what happened there

Word on the skreet up here on the Llano Estacado is that he was told he wouldn’t be the main catcher next season and he was unhappy about being replaced by an actual competent player

They already took 2 of 3 from TCU.

TCU and OU are the two most disappointing teams in the conference so far.

OSU, Texas, WVU and Tech appear to be the top 4 and then there is a large gap.

You may need to cut your list down by one

  5. Well Tech just GS’d to a 6-1 lead, and my brief optimism was instantly destroyed.  Life of a Poke

Was at the game Saturday and Sunday. If you asked me after the fourth inning today which Big 12 team was the best, I would have exclaimed OSU with great confidence.

But the pitching seems to tail off sharply after the top five or six arms. The defense is a little suspect. Their offense is really, REALLY, scary. Maybe even the best in the country good. Lots of big, athletic dudes. Tech was fortunate to take the series.

Also, Josh Holiday is petulant, petty, and kind of an a-hole. Not that it makes him all bad, but his act gets old after awhile
  6. This is probably not real but I wouldn't be entirely against it. Pay for play is the way of the world now, and I don't really give a shit about the prostitution stuff if we're being honest here.
Main thing is he's old and this is probably just a leak from his agent to get him a better offer and some other school he's actually interested in.

    Agent put that out there

Texas? Wrong slicked back Italian with Kentucky past

Notre Dame? Too sanctimonious to seem believable

Georgia Tech? Too nerdy too seem plausible

Texas Tech? They hired Bob Knight once. Lots of oil money in West Texas. Let’s put that out there to see if St. Johns will up there offer thinking they’re in a bidding war
  7. Considering both of our schools just got burned before the end of year 2 by coaches from the Bob Knight tree being huge assholes (imagine that!), maybe that’s not such a positive on the old resume.

McCasland was actually a staffer for James Dickey. Left Texas Tech when Dickey was canned in 2001 and before Knight was hired, though that might not be any better
  8. Wait, what's this again?

I’m surprised this hasn’t received more attention

Coach Mark Adams was a fraternal twin. His twin brother passed a few years ago. Mark Adams himself divorced his wife of over 30 years about the same time. Mark Adams and his twin’s widow began a relationship not long after those events. Allegedly, the two wed in Hawaii when Tech was playing in a tournament there in December.

    Yes. Really. Look it up

  9. Everything surrounding this saga regarding Beard’s departure, to Mark Adams being hired and his amazing first season, to now both of them being canned before the end of their 2nd season for absurd behavior- is completely crazy.
Texas Tech’s list of coaches, hoe they got the job and how they departed, is whackier than any program out there over the last 30 years or so. From rampant cheating to hiring a disgraced legend to leaving in the middle of the season for nepotism to another former national championship coach who ends up being a short timer to a rampant player abuser to hiring a guy who held his previous job for 19 days to losing him to the big instate school after becoming one of the most popular coaches on campus ever to watching that coach get fired for felony domestic violence to watching the assistant do amazing his first year, and then implode his second and then get fired for spitting on a player and quoting the Bible about master slave relationships (not exact, but he’s getting fired for sure).
    What a fucking whirlwind.

Yes. In a nutshell. A big nutshell without punctuation
