    - Jer'Zhan Newton - Maybe it's because I only watched 3-4 Illinois games last year, but in each one this guy was a disruption on the field on damned near every drive. He should be drafted around Murphy's pick yet I've seen him much lower.

Newton has a medical that could be dropping him

Quick mock draft through their 4th round picks

42- Michael Hall Jr (Ohio State DT)

    59- Javon Bullard (Georgia S)

86- Christian Mahogany (Boston College OL)

    122- Ray Davis (Kentucky RB)

    126- Jaylin Simpson (Auburn S)

Yeah, I posted this earlier in the thread

That line makes me think people think Rakestraw isn't making it past Houston though

Looking at the circa o/u, the only players commonly in first round mocks who don't have a line are Caleb, Daniels, Maye, Guyton, and Morgan.. which makes you think Guyton and Morgan are candidates to not go in the first

Making a mock (but leaving out the teams) based on the O/U gives you

    Ennis Rakestraw (41.5)

Once again, no line for Guyton or Morgan, which would seemingly slot right in between Nix/McConkey's 34.5 and Legette's 36.6

As a Texans fan, Rakestraw sitting at 41.5 is notable

  4. Here's what the GM's have said publicly or has been sourced for the # of first rounders they have.. typically, it's probably safe to go with the lower range since the higher ones are red flags that they might pass on

    San Francisco- 22

    Houston- 16

    Buffalo- fewer than 28

    Kansas City- 16 to 18

    Indianapolis- 19 to 21

    Seattle- 15 to 20

I saw that article. This is kinda of a weird draft in that it's deep, but outside of Harrison Jr., Bowers, and maybe Caleb Williams, none of the players jump off the page at you.  Don't get me wrong, many of them may be stars and all pros, but this draft seems to lack guys that just scream "IT"

Brock Bowers is going to fall to some team in the 10-20 range because people lose their minds reaching for QBs.

Reportedly some teams in the top ten don't want to draft him due to the low historical hit rate in the top ten for the position

Still think at 4.5 O/U for QBs in 1st Rd, I'd take the over.   That 5th yr option in their contract  might end up being pretty valuable for some teams.

The 5th year option isn't really much of a consideration anymore. A few years ago it became more expensive and isn't that much of a bargain, especially at premium positions

Rankings aren't the same as a mock draft, but Jeremiah's mock draft is arguably the best in the business.  His final version last year was the only one that had the Texans trading back up for Will Anderson last year, which seemed insane when he suggested it.

Because of his background (scout for several strong franchises) and job (lead draft guy for NFL.com), he has the best access in the industry, so his final rankings should be viewed as the closest you'll get to a consensus, although I'm sure some of it is his own opinions sprinkled in

  9. I've seen Mike Sainristil mocked to Houston a few times recently, and it's worth noting that he's an old prospect, and Houston has shied away from drafting older players high the past few years

Here's the ages of the top nickel corner types. Rakestraw and Phillips have both visited

    Ennis Rakestraw Jr- 21.9

    Max Melton- 22.0

    Andru Phillips- 22.4

    Renardo Green- 23.5

    Mike Sainristil- 23.6

  10. With the LAC's pick at #37, it'll be interesting to see who Harbaugh picks between Roman Wilson, Kris Jenkins, Junior Colson, and Mike Sainristill

Where is he currently projected? I wouldn’t be surprised if that dude ended up being 10+ year NFL player.

He pops up in the 2nd round sometimes in mocks. Brugler has him #88. Has medical concerns. Some wonder about his sideline to sideline speed, but is a good box ILB. I think anywhere from the second to the end of the third is probably his range
