He is better than what they have. Agree they need to dump Fultz

Basketball Buds or Nerder she wrote discussed Fultz and Simmons numbers playing with each other and when one of them aren't on the floor. Their numbers are significantly worse when they're on the floor together.

So I had a conversion awhile back with a source very close to the program. Here is what this person had to say about the state of affairs of the b-ball program.

Not only is Shaka not a very good coach today, he knows it. He was reluctant to take the Texas job because he knew he wasn’t ready but didn’t feel like he could turn down such an incredible opportunity. He’s trying to learn on the fly to get his teams where they ought to be.

The recruiting has obviously been great so he’s working hard to improve his coaching skills to take better advantage of the talent he is assembling.

I thought you said you had some inside info.

Bench was a lot shorter in the second half, but it was good to get so many guys involved in the first half. It will be interesting to see how our rotation evolves when Hamm is healthy and if/when Jones can handle more minutes.

That being said we played a lot better in the first half, especially when we started using the bench. Maybe Shaka should take that into consideration.

I think we will get better shots this year with Coleman, Long and Ramey. I know it was Eastern Illinois but our ball movement was pretty good last night.

We have 3 players that can handle the ball now and get guys shots.

Roach and Febres should get open looks from 3 all year. We saw it last night with Febres. If anything we were a little bit too unselfish last night and passed up some good looks.

I think people forget how many open shots we got last year and missed. For all the criticisms of Shaka's offense he does/did a good job of scheming open shots. Of which we missed a shitload last year. I'm sure @Bitterwhiteguy could give us the synergy numbers from last season, but I remember reading an accounting of it and we did a reasonably good job getting guys open shots. Just have to knock them down.
