  1. If you ignore the off-court issues that caused him to be tossed off the team, sure.
Nobody seems willing to give a definitive answer as to why he has to leave. There have been rumors of weed, fighting with teammates, and being a,poor teammate, but nothing concrete.

It’s a bunch of guys with similar recruiting rankings to Eric Davis, James Banks and Tevin Mack.  It’s hardly a given that these guys will all be good, or that they’ll stick around.

Personally, I don’t know enough about Ramey to have an opinion, although if you go by the ratings I suppose he’s the consensus best recruit.  As for the rest, I like Hepa, and Hayes can be good eventually but it will take awhile.  I’m not sure what to make of Liddell.  There must be a reason he’s rated highly (I hope), but what I’ve seen hasn’t wowed me.  Cunningham probably needs to be a better shooter than he is now to make a dent in the Big 12.

Reportedly Avery Johnson claimed that Tevin Mack was often the best player on the team in last year.  Losing him was big.

Villanova and Kansas?  Well ... that doesn’t sound good.

Kansas has Garrett, Grimes, Dotson, Moore, and Cunliffe all in the backcourt. Divicenzo will clearly be the deciding factor for Nova.

Let's assume Roach comes back ( I would put the likelihood at 80%).  Let's also assume Jones comes back, but on a minutes restriction.

If so, I would put the minutes allocation at something like this:

    • Coleman, SO      32 min - 32 PG
    • Long, JR             16 min  - 4 PG, 12 SG
    • Ramey, FR           10 min  - 4 PG,   6 SG
    • Roach, SR           30 min  -            13 SG, 17 SF
    • Jones, JR            12 min  -               4 SG,    8 SF
    • Febres, SO           15 min  -             5 SG, 10 SF
    • Liddell, FR              8 min  -                           5 SF,  3 PF
    • Sims, SO              28 min -                                     7 PF, 21 C
    • Osetkowski, SR  26 min -                                   22 PF,   4 C
    • Hamm, SO             8  min -                                      8 PF
    • Hepa, FR               10 min -                                                  8 C
    • Hayes, FR              5 min -                                                   5 C
    • Cunningham, FR - redshirt?

Pretty tough to find time for everybody.  Somebody is going to get close to zero minutes or will need to redshirt.  If we get Cremo, then I would assume that Jones will be out for the year.

My thought is that Febres will start, but that Long will be the first one off the bench subbing for whichever of Coleman, Roach, or Febres needs a break.

I HOPE we limit Osetkowski to a good 26 min per game instead of the sloppy 35 minutes he played last year.

Hepa is going to get more than 10 minutes a game. Same with Ramey. And I don't think anyone will average over 30 min/gm. At least they better not.

He’s wanting to make it a race issue, but damn, how often do you hear of a MLB player get busted for weed? Or fail a test? I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, because I’m not that stupid.

How often do hear of an NBA player failing a drug test? You don't hear about it in the NBA, NHL, or MLB because those leagues don't give a fuck if a player is smoking. It's not because they're not smoking or ingesting it. .

would’ve been better.  those athletes aren’t negatively affected physically by smoking weed.  he’s going to smoke anyway and he can still be an elite athlete doing it, just like a substantial portion of the NFL/NBA.  in SF he wouldn’t have to worry about being arrested for it.

literally all he has to do is pass his one test a year until the shit gets scrapped in the next CBA.

I love how the prevailing sentiment that NFL and NBA players smoke weed while players in other sports don't. So much bullshit with this view that gets tossed around with absolutely no push back or questioning.

I don't think this is true at least in Texas.

Maxey is the only guard ranked higher than Ramey in the '19 class. He's probably a one and done and there's a good chance he picks Kentucky.

RJ Hampton in the '20 class is likely headed to Duke. Another one and done. Cade Cunningham is likely headed to Kentucky and will also have potential to be a one and done.

I haven't really looked at the guard options beyond Texas, but Ramey is the type I think Shaka should be recruiting. A really good player that's going to be here for 3 or 4 years.

If that's the case I'd still rather have Roach than Ramey.

It's my understanding that we have 2 scholarships to give right now with 1 of those belonging to Roach if he decides to come back.  It looks like Ramey and cremo are the main targets for that final spot.  Which would we rather have? Personally I would take Ramey due to him likely being here for 3 or 4 years instead of 1 with Cremo.  What are y'alls thoughts?

Cremo and it's not even close. Not only because Cremo is an instant impact player on next year's team, but the guards coming out in the 2019 and 2020 class are wayyyyyyy better than Ramey. I'd rather one of them get that scholi.

Gah.  After all these years Phil finally got there with Kimmie.  I guess she's legal now, but still.

Was nice seeing him show Paige who the better operator is.  Think Dad's a pushover?  Yeah, honey.  Not so much.

Right now I'm leaning 70/30 towards Phil spilling the beans to Stan and Elizabeth going down for the cause.  But who the fuck knows.  Only thing I'm sure of is that everyone ain't making it off the island.

He already spilled the beans by telling Kimmie not so go to a communist country. I wonder if anything will come of that if Elizabeth tries to continue on with the operation while Kimmie is in Europe.

  9. A lot of international (foreign) students who don't want to wait to establish residency often go DO. Typically it's extremely difficult for non green card holders to get into Medical schools.

  10. I didn't say I couldn't attend, read more carefully. Especially if you want to call others ignorant. I see the one white guy walking by when they make the news for whatever reason. 87%AA and 2%"white" for PVAM, btw. Seems diverse af.

80% AA for TSU and they didn't bother breaking down the tiny slices of pie for the other races.

You are being obtuse if you are representing them as schools the typical white student considers - to imply otherwise would mean there are some simpleton whites applying and being turned down, with that glowing 71% acceptance rate.

Ill admit, I'm suprised at 80% and almost 90%, I thought it was higher. I never looked it up; 1) i don't really give a fuck. 2) I don't try and find race in every conversation I have. Some of y'all should try that if you can find the time between being oppressed and name calling everyone who doesn't agree with you.

Noticed you let the NCAAP part of the question slide.

There are white people within the NAACP, and seeing how white people were among those who founded the org it wasn't worth mentioning. Again how would a white person attending an HBCU or joining the NCAAP be viewed as a spectacle. Seems as though you're doing a lot of projecting in this made up scenario.

If Fultz can manage to receiver rediscover the confidence that made him a #1 pick this team will be a problem for years you come. Dude clearly has the yips or the basketball version of
Chuck Knoblauch's mental issues when he suddenly couldn't throw to 1st. Hopefully Fultz overcomes it this summer.
  12. That guy,
Using your definitions, 2 a and b in particular, do you feel the fact that I can't reasonably attend PVAM or TSU racist?  And I don't mean technically - lets not be obtuse - I mean without making a spectacle of the whole thing? NAACP membership? Any of that racist?
Do you really think that only black people are allowed into TSU and Prairie View? Are you really that ignorant?
  13. Roach is projected as a 2nd round pick in next year's draft.

Jericho Sims is predicted as a top 15 pick in next year's draft. This should give you an idea of :

    1) how much of a crapshoot mocks are this far in advanced and

    2) next year's draft class is pure trash

A senior year Roach undoubtedly will be a 1st round pick if he comes back and just improves a little on this year's performance. And in all honesty I'm being conservative with the above. A simple repeat performance will suffice (although it's always good to show improvement)

  14. None until the end of the year.  He played his last game against OSU on 3/1 and lost to stanford in the second round.  He missed the last 6 games but we could have played in 4-6 more games if he would have been healthy.  At that point though he had shown everything he needed to (like kyrie).  He wasn't going to play again even with a foot that couldn't be injured any more than what it was (minor stress fracture I believe).  He was a top 5 pick and everyone knew it at KU.
If you had to repick that draft, the top 5 was:
    CLE - Wiggins
    Bucks - Jabari Parker
    76ers - Embiid
    Magic - Gordon
    Jass - Exum
If cleveland would have sat front row at KU games all year they probably would have taken Embiid.  Wiggins was noticeably timid most of the year, a problem he still has.  Could you imagine Lebron coming back to CLE with Embiid and Kyrie waiting for him? If they all stay healthy that would have been a dominant East team that could have possibly beaten the warriors more than just once.
A foot that couldn't have been injured anymore?!?!? He didn't play again after that for nearly 3 years.
  15. When the light went on at KU it was insane to see him play.  The first 5-7 games of the year he was getting some decent minutes but was behind 3 bigs in the rotation.  Then he got 20+ minutes and started doing things like the dream shake and dikembe finger wag and he started to show how special he is.  A few more weeks go by an you can basically see on a game by game basis that he is getting far better than the rest of the team and literally each day he is 1.5x the player he was the day before.  To me, it was clear that he was the best player on the team even though we had a future AA and NPOY in Frank Mason, A NBA all Star in Wiggins, and a 2nd team AA in Perry Ellis.  Embiid was the prize of that team and KU fans would flame me for not hyping wiggins but it couldn't be any clearer that Joel had the temperament, the physique, and the flourishing skill set to be one of the best in the NBA.  Conference play came and he starts a little slow but he just produced so many mismatches for himself and that created open looks when he would kick it out.  No one wanted any part of the lane since he was blocking 3 shots a game, and he was a rebounding machine.  When we got him he had been playing for like 2-3 years and it was clear he would be the next Hakeem if there was ever going to be one.
It is so awesome to see him play and he is probably the most charismatic player in the league so it is fun to watch him grow as well.
How many games did he miss that year?
