    - nice that Washington is giving good feedback to guys considering he’s been on portal watch for a while now.

Washington may still be on portal watch.  That doesn't mean he doesn't think highly of Coach Coleman. Sometimes these kids love their original choice, they just want a more favorable depth chart.

  2. Kobe changed the entire idea of what it means to dedicate yourself to a craft.

Steph Curry changed the game completely. If you can’t shoot at least 35% from 3 you're a liability in today's basketball.

The tennis list isn’t that long. It's Serena and Federer.

I guess it's fuck Simone Biles huh?

For the people who were asking why Murphy was ranked so high, check out this video. There’s just not many people on this planet who can throw the ball like he does. If he can clean up his mechanics and some other little things, then he could be a great take, but you’d like to see him make some progress on those things before you take him. Unfortunately there hasn’t been much opportunity to see it yet.

He’s got a cannon. Would not be upset if he ends up as the QB take.

No clue if a follow means anything, but Diggs has a better tape and look than most. I am not sure what is going on with highlights, but there have been a lot of bad ones flying around lately. So it is nice to see a good one. The fact that is ranked where he is says a lot about services. They have been fawning over a lot of jags lately to help keep the 2nd signing day interesting.

Seriously, the kid has a well put together highlight clip. Does a bit of everything for his team. Runs with the same kind of energy that Rojo runs with. Ranking definitely doesn't match the film.

Are they actually spending a lot of effort on guys like that or just getting free publicity with the offers? Doesn't seem like previous staffs where they withheld offers, seems like were splashing them around pretty liberally by comparison. I honestly don't know so I'm still in optimistic mode.

    It's the Alabama model.

    1. Offer the best players.

    2. See who's serious about building a relationship with you.

    3. ??

    4. Profit.

The previous staff had steps 1 & 2 mixed up.

Traylor was the head coach at Gilmer I believe before Charlie hired him.  I believe Traylor's brother is or was the head coach at Robert E. Lee (now Tyler Legacy).  It's all about keeping that access in my opinion.

What? I’m sure it has much more to do with his ability to coach. He was a major success at Gilmer.

  7. Bobby Burton on the Stoops hire:

According to published reports in Alabama, Crimson Tide analyst Mike Stoops is set to join Steve Sarkisian’s staff. While it’s not entirely certain what position he will have, it is ostensibly for the linebacker spot.

One of the first things I ever learned to deal with as a reporter was delivering “unwelcome news” to the public.

The hiring of Stoops to many Longhorn fans is just that. Suffice to say, he is not a well-liked figure in Longhorn lore.

Not only is he the brother of former Sooner coach Bob Stoops, but he was also the defensive coordinator of some of the biggest beatdowns of the Longhorns in the history of the Texas-OU rivalry, and was routinely seen berating players on the sideline to the point that spittle came out of his mouth and the coloring of his face turned a shade of red that is clearly unhealthy.

While I’m not concerned with Stoops’ participation in the shellackings of the Horns or his long-time relationship with the Sooners, I am concerned with his temperament with players and whether or not his last two years spent off the field has mellowed him somewhat.

It’s a tired act to be yelled at, to be demeaned in front of teammates, and possibly on national TV.

At the same time, I have zero doubt that Stoops is a strong position coach, more than capable of understanding what Pete Kwiatkowski wants to do with his defense. For much of the late ‘90s and early 2000s, the Sooners linebackers were the envy of the Big 12.

Every single hire that Sarkisian has made thus far - until that of Stoops - has the persona of being someone who creates positive reinforcement of the players and team. Adding Stoops to the mix changes that.

Time will tell if Stoops has learned a more measured approach. And a measured approach is one I’m trying to take while delivering what is likely unwelcome news this morning.

My point is bias is clearly a factor in this reaction and if you can’t see that you’re a part of it. Is it a meh hire? Sure. Is it catastrophic to the point that 90% of people are making it out to be? Probably not.

You're trying to come off as the “rational one” here and instead, you're just making an ass of yourself. But please, keep fucking that chicken Hank.
