I always get a kick out of fundies twisting themselves up trying to pick out pieces of the old testament and enshrine them, while completely ignoring and wildly misinterpreting other parts. Like how the south used parts of levitican law to justify slavery, but looooooooved to browbeat you with the new testament gospel that mooted the old testament theologically.

Also seedy boi I got both barrels of southern baptist indoctrination growing up. There's a variety of reasons that I don't consider myself a Christian today, but I'd bet ya a failed GoFundMe that I know my Sunday school better than you.

I still don't understand how that passage was for abortion, but not for infidelity. She didn't even needed to pregnant, and it doesn't even apply to just being pregnant that you can get rid of your child, but only to cheating.

Numbers 5:22 May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.

Lol I forgot that you don't read gud

    I forget, you're not Christian.

22 and may this water that causes the curse go into your stomach, and make your belly swell and your thigh rot.”

‘Then the woman shall say, “Amen, so be it.”

Bullshit. As per normal you can't even get basic facts straight. Depending on source, we haven't reached more than a million abortions in a year in a decade. If you look at CDC data we haven't broken 100k in 26 years, despite population increase. The overall rate has gone down since the passing of Roe - a lot (and again, with higher population).

Yes, its a ludicrous comparison. I can be on Bogus Basin skiing from my house within 30 minutes. There are houses 500ft higher in elevation than my house less than 1 mile away. Sorry, you drove on a flat road for a couple mile stretch and make terrible assumptions.

I mean 84 is pretty boring till you get to Oregon.

Smart.  No state income tax.  No sales tax across the river.

That's if you also work in Washington, if you work in Portland you'll still get income tax. You used to be able to live in Oregon and go to Washington and not pay sales tax.

We went to the Worlds track meet last month and drove to Bend from Boise and then to Eugene the next night. I had been to Portland and Astoria before but this was my first time down in the southern part or Oregon.

(I had never been to either Boise or Bend before, but each was exactly what I pictured the other to be. Boise is hot desert and very flat, kind of like Lubbock. Bend is supposed to be in the desert but felt a lot more alpine.)

Bend was awesome and was one of the most scenic cities I've ever visited. Would like to go back there and spend more time in the future.

Went here for dinner in Bend and it was great: https://www.yelp.com/biz/pacific-pizza-and-brew-bend

The drive over the mountains to Eugene the next day was pretty cool. Lots more traffic on that road than I had anticipated, but very very scenic.

Did not care much for Eugene but admittedly didn't spend a lot of time there. My immediate impression was that it reminded me a lot of Ann Arbor. Much more dense and urban and older than I expected. The portion right around the UO campus felt very much like an east coast college town.

I don't know about Bend being the most scenic city, but it's definitely an outdoorsy city. I think Sisters is more scenic, and good for a stay. It has an old town aesthetic, with 3 mountains looking down. It's also not too far from Bend anyways.

No.  They don't need to.  They all carry a firearm, and have gone through training to use it (and there are thousands of examples every year of cops using their sidearm to engage an armed suspect, so it's a thing that they are trained to do).  That's enough.  Sure, if facing an active shooter, I'd love it if a trained SWAT team responded.  But that's almost never going to be the case.

So, street cop with a Glock who comes upon an active shooter: engage him.

PSA for any of you assholes dealing with GERD.  Go get it checked out.  GERD leads to worse things than heartburn and there are things that can be done to prevent it.  I had a surgery 21 years ago to deal with GERD and I likely wouldn't be around here today otherwise.  There are several medications that help as well.  Don't waste years eating Rolaids or Tums.

It's what killed my great uncle. I definitely need to get it gone.
