Urban Meyer is still very high on this UT team:
QuoteBig Noon Kickoff analyst and former CFB coach Urban Meyer joins Colin Cowherd to break down the CFP matchups between No. 1 Michigan and No. 4 Alabama and No. 2 Washington vs. No. 3 Texas. Watch as Coach Meyer breaks down why Alabama will upset Michigan in the Rose Bowl and why Texas's defensive unit resembles the 2008 National Champion Florida Gators.

Looks like both of tOSU's '23 WRs with the last name Rogers are entering the portal:

Bryson Rodgers.
I just looked up tOSU's 2023 season team stats & it looks like Bryson Rodgers didn't have a single reception + he was a '23 unanimous nationally unranked low 4-star recruit coming out high school in Florida.
He doesn't fit the profile for the type of player UT would go after in the portal. Especially when UT already has 3 '23 nationallly ranked unproven WRs on the roster they already like.
EDIT:
Looks like IT agrees with that Horns247 tweet:

Both the analytics duo of College Football Nerds has UT beating UW by double digits (Keep in my mind they accurately predicted that OU would beat UT close in the RRS when most fans & media assumed that UT would beat OU comfortablely):
1 interesting they talked about in this video is that they feel UW's running game actually drives their offense which plays into UT's strength.
On 12/28/2023 at 2:11 PM, sushihorn said:That is correct. They have to run or have a lot of success in the short passing game to force a safety closer to the LOS and open things up downfield. And only a real running threat can slow down the pass rush. Their outside receivers are very good on jump balls but that’s against single coverage, not with a safety over the top.
IMHO Washington needs to at least have our LBs thinking pass first to sustain drives with the run. If they play run fits with a 6 man box there won’t be any room between the tackles. We will need contingent run support from a weak side DB but the team speed match up is going to make it hard for Johnson to turn the corner. I think UW will have to double team at least the play side DT to run the ball so there will be an unblocked defender with 11 personnel vs 6 in the box. That changes if the QB is a real running threat but Penix is not.
I'm currently listening to Scipio Tex & Longhorn Scott on the most recent 3-part episodes of the "Everybody Gets a Trophy" podcast and they seem to agree that UW is a playaction passing team & NOT a profolic dropback passing team (i.e. 2019 LSU) that everyone assumes.

Better Barking Carnival/Recruitocosm X&O's pundit, Ian Boyd or Longhorn Scott?
I had to ask seeing as Scipio Tex resurrected Longhorn Scott on his most recent 3-part episodes of the EGAT podcast previewing UT-UW CFP game.

QuoteMichael Penix and this Washington passing attack are coming in sky high after dumping Oregon for the PAC 12 title. Quinn Ewers is healthy and ready to run Sark's offensive wizardy to its fullest extent after leading Texas through the Big 12. Sugar Bowl victory and a shot at the title is on the line.

TBH, I've hated this forum's software & been wishing the admin switched over to XenForo forum software since the mid-2010's on ShaggyBevo. When I suggested it in the past, folks disliked the idea becuz other UT forums (i.e. IT, HornSports, & OB) also use XenForo and felt that it would make Shaggy/Surly looks too much like those forums.
If that isn't gonna happen, than I gotta co-sign the talk in this thread about shifting to the Discord Server app (or even an alternative option like the Telegram app). Both of those apps got better functionality than the current SurlyHorns forum software. The only thing I worry about Is if a Discord Server is as easy to find & use as a messageboard for Noobs & casual posters.

Posted this earlier when it was in doubt but seems to me like Moore may be the biggest prize in the entire portal so far. Look at the list of top-tier teams that pursued him. It's pretty much unmatched.
Huge get.
Yeah the amount views on this tweet speaks volumes:

After hearing Justin Wells & Scipio Tex's comments on Elko during the most recent episode of the EGAT podcast, I'm glad Aggy's irrationality lead them to settle for the Elko hire. LOL. They called Elko a "Sweater Wearer".

Aaron Butler is one of the TOP ATHLETES IN THE NATION... and he still hasn't announced where he'll be going to school!! We linked up with our guy AB for a full day in the life of one of the top football players out there. Obviously had to get some work in on the field and in the weight room. My guy is seriously jacked, and he pushes himself so hard in the gym. Kinda crazy he could also be a tough boxer too. AB is seriously one of the most humble and hardworking guys out there, and we can't wait to see where he ends up. Comment down below where you think Aaron should commit 👀

Today we feature Aaron Butler from Calabasas High School in Calabasas, CA. He is 6'0" - 165 lbs. and plays Athlete. He is a 4-star recruit according to On3.com and has committed to the Colorado Buffaloes.
Coach Hayes Football has created a segment called W.R.E. (Watch - React - Evaluate). In this segment, we will be watching player highlights and giving an unbiased reaction and evaluation based solely on the highlight film.

Hampton is ranked #232 & #224 on the On3 industry rankings & 247 Composite rankings, while Butler is ranked #179 & #122 in the same rankings

Never watched it while it was on. Binged it with my wife in the summer of 2020 and thought it was great. Same for True Detective Season 2. Apparently, those shows were trash when released slowly but have been reviewed well when watched in short order. The amount of people I know who watched either of those the traditional way who mock me when I say that is absurd.
Also, Breaking Bad is the opposite. It’s almost unwatchable if you binge it because it is just constant, angry, brutal, depressing shit.
100% agree with CTJ on "Lost". I binged the show back in 2012 & loved it. "Lost" has the GOAT TV show musical score IMO.
The disconnect between folks who watched "Lost" while it was on & the for folks who binged it after the show ended is wild AF. Like clockwork everyone who shits on "Lost" & encourages other people not to bother watching it are people who watched the show while it was on, meanwhile most who binged it later on likes the show. My theory is that the folks who watched "Lost" while it was on, got caught up in the goofy mysteries & cliffhangers and were unsatisfied how they were concluded. Meanwhile people who binged "Lost" after the series ended, don't need to get caught up in the goofy mysteries & cliffhangers becuz we can just move on to the next episode or season.

Texas was finally able to land a game changer at edge. What does Colin Simmons bring to Texas that can make this defense even more scary?
