I never said we were getting Leal only that we shouldn’t give up. We should try to get him to the USC game in particular.

    Well this is good news.

Decent chance we finish our class with these guys after we excel this season and aggy does their usual flop.

Did you see what Clemson did to their opponent today? They destroyed them. aggy was only up 7-0 on Northwestern St in the 2nd qtr., their lines were evenly matched for most of the game, Mond was off target as usual, their WR’s were dropping balls, they are thin at RB, etc.

Leal can’t avoid the truth that is coming to aggy this season. All we need to focus on is just getting him to the USC game. He sees that combined with aggy rape and we’ve got a good chance at the flip. Once Leal flips it makes it easier for Demani and crew to do the same. Let’s not act like it would be a tremendous precedent for us to exert our dominance on little brother. Many in here have a myopic outlook because of the loss today. Did this team fold after losing to Maryland last year? No we went nip and tuck in LA against USC when nobody gave us a chance. We’ll beat USC and gain momentum on the field and in recruiting as the season moves along. Bookmark this post.

This place is going to have such a different feel after Clemson stomps aggy by 60.

We are not getting anyone from aggy as I remind you for the 10th time. If anything aggy is now in the position to flip Shepard from us.

Didn’t CDC stick with Patterson through some rough years early on? I think that experience is going to play a big role in how he deals with Herman...he’s going to be here longer than anyone wants to think about right now.

CDC stuck by Patterson because CDC new that he was a winner and TCU was transition from the mountain west into the big 12 and was going to suffer some growing pains.

Recall your stud QB comment, and then recall what happened to FSU’s stud QB in their first game last year. There’s a reason 5-6 was overlooked.

No healthy program goes from #3 to desperately trying to make a bowl game even losing a their quarterback. Jimbo is a less successful mack brown and 2017 was jimbos 2010

This ain’t 1985.  4 AP top-10 finishes since 2010. Dude can coach, the program is legit.

Oh, and the last 4 years’ UT-TCU games too.

TCU is on borrowed time at the snap of Texas finger they are back in the moutian west. In 2014 a 11-1 TCU gets jumped by OSU and get told to pound sand, had that been an 11-1 Texas team instead they go to the playoff. Patterson has TCU maxed out at the this point just but he is just a home town hero if he ever wants to be a legend with his name listed among the greats he will have to leave.

He wouldn't because he's making a ton of money where he is, he's a legend where he is, he has a better program than Texas where he is, his team is more relevant than Texas where he is.

Again, why would he leave TCU?

For the same reason CDC left, TCU is maxed out. Patterson can't take the frogs any higher and they are on borrowed time TCU will not survive realignment in fact they are lucky to be in the big12 at all. If Patterson ever wants to be one of the greats in all of college football to really leave a legacy  like the greats he will have to leave tcu.

    Here's a question or two:

Does Herman (most coaches) read what's being written about him (them)? Did he know in the third quarter that the RB who averaged 6ypc in the first half was sitting on the bench, or is he too busy trying to decide whether or not to call a time out? Does he need a bench coach standing beside him to whisper in his ear, "hey, I realize you're a fucking numbers nerd, but you should be thinking about blah blah blah"?

Is he gonna sit down with Beck and ask him why in the fuck was Porter in there at crunch time, and then tell him that he ought to consider reordering his priorities about why someone plays and why they sit - for example, just because a guy doesn't fumble, it doesn't mean he should be on the field when you are losing. Instead, get someone who produces out there. Someone who breaks tackles, who turns nothing into something?

Does he read the riot act to Beck, or does he calmly tell him that we need to do better?

Herman is not going to do shit because he thinks he is smarter than everyone else.

Tom Herman needs a serious dose of humility or he risks losing the entire fan base and (perhaps the only thing that matters) losing the BMD as well. The only way I see him changing anything is by Del Conte sitting him down and explaining the seriousness of the situation to him.

Next time a reporter asks how offensive playcalling will be handled, he should skip the condescending and insulting tone. Answer the fucking question. “Tim calls plays. I have veto power.” Or “I decided to take over play calling for the rest of the year.”

I am willing to bet fat stacks of cash that humility and Herman do not end up in the same room.

I think Mike Emfinger said it best.

What we've got in Tom Herman is another John Mackovic.

    On steroids.

So does that mean we are going to hire a national championship winning coach next?

It’s a cultural virus. Recruits choose Texas for the city and all that comes with it. They want the lifestyle that only Texas can offer. It’s the easy route. The players that will pour out their heart and soul in order to make the league are going elsewhere.

It’s why our players look like they’ve been half assing it in the gym and a school like Maryland with 2 and 3 star recruits is bigger and faster across the board.

The culture is why guys like Gary Patterson tell us to go fly a kite when the job opens up.

You sound like fucking aggy. "dem lib tard tsip in austin ain't real men" We got our asses kicked because our coaching staff doesn't prepare the team.

Not worried at all. I’d rather start at the bottom and work our way up then the other way around. We beat USC, aggy gets impaled by Clemson and we got a stew going. All our energy needs to be focused on DeMarvin Leal, he is the only thing keeping their class together and keeping ours from being elite. It should be all hands on deck just trying to get him to visit for USC.

JUST. STOP. WE ARE NOT HAVING A BETTER CLASS THAN AGGY. WE ARE NOT FLIPPING ANYONE FROM AGGY. LET IT GO.

Honest question - has any coach at a big time program, in recent history, not gotten shit together by year 2 and still worked out?

I guess you can say you need to be patient, but I’d say the writing is on the wall.  Hit eject and take the next one   If we don’t have 8 wins, TH isn’t the guy

Herman is gonna sell us that we are 2014 OSU losing to VaTech. Hahahahahaha...

The only one I can think of is dabo but he was a fucking WR coach that got promoted.

Everyone is spending all of their time "trying to be perfect." This was said many times during post-game interviews.

This raises a lot of red flags. When I hear shit like this, it reminds me of a workplace where everyone is on pins and needles when the boss is around because they are scared of making mistakes. People are just going through the motions.

No real work is being done, no progress is being made, and the only thing that matters is the boss swinging his dick around to create the perception that he is the smartest person in the room and has all of his people in line.

When it comes time to perform, everyone fails miserably.

    This is scary fuckin accurate.
