Cannon rejected Trump's motion for a continuance of the trial date. https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/67490070/215/united-states-v-trump/

"Defendants’ Motion to Continue Trial, currently set for the two-week period commencing on May 20, 2024, is DENIED WITHOUT PREJUDICE, to be considered at a scheduling conference on March 1, 2024, following the initial set of pre-trial and CIPA steps in this proceeding as outlined below."

Reading between the lines it wouldn't be shocking at all that come March the trial gets kicked down the road a bit due to the unique and challenging issues of the case.

we will have to agree to disagree here.

whenever he leaves i fully expect it to be a situation where he can step in and be successful. i don't think A&M is set up for plug and play success no matter who the coach is.

their team has fundamental issues at linebacker and OL - both involving strategy and depth (or lack thereof.) their OL room has more cubes than they have P5 level starting players. the QB room has big talent issues if you don't keep Weigman, and Max Johnson has been beat out at 2 SEC schools at this point. their offensive staff (Addazio, Damayune Craig, James Coley, Bobby Petrino, Marquel Blackwell) has exactly one dude who you really even consider keeping.

they will have fallout from Jimbo leaving. again, that guy is going to leak everything and shit all over the program on the way out.

they are in an incredibly difficult conference with incredibly difficult permanent rivalries (Texas, OU, LSU or if they are lucky Arkansas)

they have no recent success to speak of. they have no real alignment with the AD/booster/program. they have no functional NIL program compared to any other top school/program. they don't have a super strong recruiting base from within Texas (look at how much they recruit OOS.) they don't have a history of putting dudes in the league.

i just don't see Schumann leaving one of the best coordinator jobs in the country for Texas A&M of all places. especially not at any kind of discount on either his salary or the assistant pool.

I don't know the man, but if he wants to be a head coach he'd take aggy and it wouldn't be a question. Making $1.9 as a coordinator is great, but more than doubling that as HC at aggy is quite a bit better.

  3. Fisher pledged this week. “… Guys aren’t backing off..... As long as you’re that close in that way and they have that look in their eyes, you can get there. I'm seen the look in a lot of guys' eyes when they're getting close. When they really want to get in there and pound it. It excites me to watch them do her, it, I meant it. You know football.”

  5. Was amazed at an article are saw pointing out all social media posts about how ABC shouldn't have shown the crying and allow the kid and his family to have their privacy.

It's a nationally televised night game at the Rose Bowl with a 21 year old man who makes millions of dollars a year and has played at two blue bloods and won a Heisman who is in line to be the #1 pick and lead a franchise in a billion dollar industry in about 6 months.

This reminds me of a tv comedy where a random episode takes place in a courtroom, and all the crazy characters all do their typical crazy stuff, to the amazement of everyone there.

Or like Michael Scott in a deposition with David Wallace.

AG: Mr. Trump, do you realize you just contradicted yourself?
    DT: "I did."

    AG: Yes, you did.
DT: Can I go to the bathroom?

    AG: No.

DT: I really have to. I've been drinking lots of water."

AG: You went five minutes ago.

DT: That wasn't to go to the bathroom, that was to get out
    of a question.

AG: You still have to answer it.

I'm not sure how that's an astonishing admission. Isn't that why everyone provides financial statements and personal guarantees to banks? Was someone expecting:

AG: you provided financial statements and a personal guaranty to the banks so they'd give you loans, correct?

DT: No. I was just bragging. I dropped of some financial statements at four different McDonald's last night so people know how rich I am. And, the personal guaranty wasn't a guarantee for repayment of a loan, I was giving my personal guarantee that I'm very rich.

  8. Weird week to shit on him. 3rd highest passer rating with 6th most yards from yesterday. Last drive was 4-5 passing for 58 yards, converted 4th down on a scramble, 14 yard TD pass to take the lead with 46 seconds left. I didn't watch. Was he playing corner or something yesterday and Stroud kept picking on him?

Thai stuff is literally the evidence to be used against a defendant in a criminal trial. They don’t get to just surprise someone in the middle of trial with the evidence of their guilt. JFC.

  10. Don't know how the tv folks never had a Fall Guy and T.J. Hooker crossover event. Or, maybe it was determined all teenage boys would suffer permanent dominant arm damage if the Heathers appeared on screen together working undercover in bikinis to wrestle a perp/bail jumper to the ground on the beach.

It arose out of flat-out hubris, and the belief that 1) I'm a super disruptive brain-genius who is changing the world, and 2) therefore, if I have an idea to do something, it's not wrong, because I'm a super disruptive brain-genius who is changing the world.

It's just good old fashioned human hubris/arrogance/folly.

So, not a simple country boy and cockeyed optimist who got himself mixed up in the high stakes game of world diplomacy and international intrigue?

Social media in general will be the end of society as we know it. The wheels are already in motion.

The wheels are already of the rails and wildly hurdling about like a homicidal Uniroyal white wall from a 1970s horror movie.
