  1. Listened to Billy on Texags radio. Here are some basic notes

    • Lanning's total buyout is closer to $50 million all in
    • Kiffin wants the job but they don't want him (LOL)
    • Schumann won't be a candidate. Not on the Lanning/Smart track right now
    • DeBoer will get a real look but not sure if they could hire him (he has a $12 million buyout).
    • ERob could end up being a real candidate especially if they beat LSU.

I think Deboer is from the midwest too. He might even like being in the Big 10.

True for NIL but can't the extra money from the Big 10 TV deal easily pay for a big raise in his salary? Doesn't seem like you even need donors.

They are only going to make around 30 million for the first few years and they don't have knight to fill the gap. Not saying he would take the a&m job but there is a huge gap in the UW money and what the ags can offer

    Question - which is better?

    A.  Blue chip coach for $9mil a year

    B.  Up and comer coach for $4mil and $5mil to NIL some o-line/d-line players?

Based on my unscientific observation, I'm taking B unless A gets me Saban.

A only works for Saban, Meyer, Smart and maybe Dabo if the kids buy in. Those are the types that would get kids to stay regardless of ERob staying or not.

B and ERob/Durkin staying to keep the kids in place would work out if the the coach is a Traylor type. If Traylor or comparable try to bring in a new staff that doesn't have big game experience then it will be a tough 6 years in CS.

  4. Bjork has made two football hires since becoming a full time AD.

At Western Kentucky in 2010 he hired Willie Taggert who was the Stanford RB coach. Side note: Jack Harbaugh was the replacement for Taggert at Stanford for the bowl. They also worded together previously at WKU in the 90s.

At Ole Miss 2012 he hired Hugh Freeze after his first year as a HC at Arkansas State. He had taken over as HC at ASU after being the OC for one year.

Some seem to think that he hired Kiffin at Ole Miss but that hire happened 7 months after Bjork left for College Station. The only connection there is the 2 years Durkin spent at Ole Miss.

Based on his history, Bjork likes younger coaches and they don't have to have any history as a HC or even coordinator in Taggerts case.

So my off the wall predication using his history of plucking Harbaugh staffs and up and comer types is Jesse Minter who is the Co DC at Michigan now. This is of course assuming that staff escapes without any NCAA penalties going forward.

How?  Oregon would have beaten No 12 Oregon St and No 5 Washington.  They are already ahead of us and their schedule on the way out is harder.

The committee always contradict themselves. Why is OSU #1? Due to the wins. So, why isn’t Texas or Bama ahead of Oregon? A better loss > better win/worse loss?

There's no other reason to rank them ahead. We have wins against 8, 16, and 25. With a top 12 ish likely CCG opponent. That clears what Oregon has done and can do on the way out.

If FSU drops one though it'll all  a moot point

  6. We just need one conference to implode over the next 4 weeks which isn't unrealistic and usually happens eventually.

Current conference ranking of positioning to get in.

    1. B10- 2 in the top 4 that play each other and get a cake walk int he CCG

    2. SEC- Georgia only has to survive and get through against Bama in Atlanta. Bama gets in at 12-1.

    3. P12- Ranked 5 and 6 just waiting for the Mich/tOSU to play. CCG rematch determines who goes.

    4. ACC- Only 1 team that can get in and can't afford a slip up from FSU. Louisville at 12-1 would need a miracle to make the CFP.

    5. B12- Only Texas can make it but need 1 of the other conferences to implode.

So of that our most realistic opportunities to get in come from FSU, Washington, and Oregon. Bolded matchups that could cause the chaos we need.

FSU finishes with  Miami, North Alabama, and Florida. Then likely get to play Louisville for the ACC title.

Washington finishes with Utah, Oregon State, and Washington State before a Oregon rematch in the CCG.

Oregon finishes with USC, ASU, and Oregon State before a rematch with Washington

Can’t underestimate the added revenue from signing a player like Shohei. There will be a post-WS windfall anyway, but you add Japanese Babe and you’ve got a whole other rev engine.

Also- what’s the contract status with Max? I thought he was back next year but can’t find info on it.

This ownership group has felt that impact from the Yu singing. I saw it firsthand when I watched a lady zoom in her camera and proceed to take pictures of Yu the whole game on his off day. Lol.

Post championship we're gonna go over 3 million in attendance and could push 3.5+ with Ohtani.

  8. The beauty of winning this early in the window is getting to go star chasing with a championship under the GMs belt. Add Ohtani and let the vets who want a ring file in.

Let's hope Langford can be ready to go by May so we can flip Leody for assets over the summer.

Anticipation…on a screen pass. A do what. Watch that replay, 4 or 5 times if you have to. Brooks shucks that DL and sits down in between his blockers, in no universe does he keep running to the sideline away from the mass of his OL on a screen pass. He should throw that ball down at brook’s feet or into the upper deck of the stands, or turn and hit kleiman in the face with it. Anything but tossing it to their only defender on the sideline. That might be the worst play in Texas history if you take all the context into consideration. Those are 3 star k-state recruits, an all American LT, several all conference players mixed in and most likely an all American rb. Fuck my life.

I would agree with this point if not for last week when he threw a pick into a players cheat  named, and I'm not making this up, Crew Wakley who is a 24 yr old SO for BYU. You don't even have to look him up, he's as unassuming as you'd think.

  10. Arch wouldn't be worse. Mainly because of how insanely bad those ints and missed ints were. He wouldn't be mistake free but he wouldn't be making elementary QB mistakes.

Secondly the first Arch TD will break the internet (as well as first INT). It's a net positive for the program to have Arch on the field for development/perception.

All that said here's to hoping Quinn suits up next week for a TCU route for eternal scoreboard.
