of all the times I've been to New Orleans, it wasn't until last year that I stumbled upon the Erin Rose and discovered the majesty of the frozen irish coffee
Saved my life a few mornings. -
This season is slow and mostly boring so far.

each time i saw him he was aggressively begging for free booze or weed and would throw a screaming shit fit if you didn't give it to him. every year at bob marley fest he would walk around and try to hit your joint and then literally show you his ass if you didn't comply. had this conversation with friends a few weeks ago and everyone had the same recollection of him being a piece of shit.
He was a complete piece of trash.
With a group after a game and went to Casino el Camino for food.
I had no idea who he was but my local friends did and they invited him to sit with us and eat. My Gf was with me at the time and Leslie is making a couple of comments. I blow it off as I can see how impaired he is.
Finally he gives her one more gesture and I got in his face. He tucked tail and left. -
Where does Project X fit in? Not the monkey one.

I was mostly joking with that post, but reminded me about something.
It is strange to me that everyone assumes we won't have a target on our back in the SEC like we did in the Big 12. I'm not sure I can get on board with that notion. I lived for a big part of my life in the southeast. Those people fucking hate Texas (the state) and Texans. More than A&M ever could, we represent the state of Texas and those fans will absolutely be out for blood. That is on top of not wanting the embarrassment of losing to one of the new teams from the inferior Big 12. We will 100% still be a jihad game for almost every SEC program we play. Tennessee won't hate us like they hate Bama, nor will Georgia hate us the way they hate Florida. But they will still hate us.
And that's a good thing. Fuck those schools and those fans. We're Texas. But don't think for a second that they won't play their best game against us.

As a corollary,
came home to my wife cooking dinner with 3 pans on the stove top. All 3 burners on Hi. I watched for a moment as she almost came to tears because every pan was starting to smoke as she tried to manage the pans. I stepped in and turned two of the burners to low, she looked at me like I was some sort of magical wizard.
I thought this was how all wives cooked.
High until it boils it and scorches, burns and overcooks all things inside then turn to low and say it’s ready. -
Why is it that Chripractors can be called "Doctor" when they don't actually have near the same medical training of an Osteopath, G.P. doctor, etc.?
Heck, that dentist being maligned has to go through "regular" med school. Chiro's? Nope.
Pop was in hospital admin in the Air Force and in the civilian world and this short circuits his brain. He openly calls chiros quacks and mall doctors.- 1

Yep, everyone thinks they're 300+lbs until they get them on the scale
Haha. You ain’t lying. We did a hog tourney a few years back and thought for sure we had one at 200+. He was 160.
We have running jokes about hog sizes now.- 1

Figured I would post an update since I've been trying to manage a few situations. Rough '23. System change outs were way down for us. Service, repair and maintenance were good. Increased our agreements by 50% to around 400.
Cash flow is an issue right now and I've got to make some very tough decisions very quickly. We built the company framework for growth but the growth didn't come with it this year.

Has anyone mentioned Kevin Costner yet?
We talking Jake from Silverado or Ness from Untouchables? -
It saddens me not only that there are so many stupid people...but that they choose to display their stupidity so publicly. Quinn is QB1. He's a RS-Soph returning as the Heisman frontrunner who had a season stat line of 272 of 394 for 69.0%, 3,479 yards, an 8.8 ypc, with 22 TD against 6 INT and a 158.6 passer rating, but, more importantly, a 12-1 regular season with a Big 12 championship and 0:01 and one misread pass away from playing for a national championship in a game where the other team had a nearly perfect outing until the very end of the 4th quarter. If you want Arch over Quinn for next season right now, you probably still think John Chiles should starts and VY should be moved to WR.
Kindly go fuck your own faces so you can stop the noise pollution coming from your own mouths but, in any event, pretty please with sugar on top, shut the fuck up.

Wife's car was totaled in an accident so we had to go shopping.
Downsized from a QX80 to a Toyota Highlander Limited. Took walking out twice but we got it ~7% off MSRP and 3.99% for 48.

The only reason we were in that position was because that UW RB somehow hurt himself on the kneel down
I was surprised they had him in. He had been hurt most of the game and limping around on the sideline.

Without naming names I'll just say it's lame as fuck for posters to jump in here after a tough L and start beating their chest about how "right" they are that the QB who won the Big 12 this year and got us within one play of the national championship game really sucks at football.

Why was the fucking clock running after Ewers ran out of bounds?
At around 11 to go in the 4th the clock seemed to keep running after an incomplete pass by Washington. About a minute. -
Dial of Destiny. How Voller survived the train incident made him resurfacing hard to take for me.

If I played in a league that went into week 18 I would quit. That’s some dumb fucking shit most years.
Won my home league and finished second in my more competitive auction $ league. Grabbing Puka on waivers after week 1 carried both of my teams.
I stopped playing in one league where I lost 3 finals in a row due to the last week of the season.- 2

Going to end up 3rd and it pisses me off. The one week all my guys sucked ass had to be the first week of the playoffs.

Grandfather got arrested in Goldthwaite for having 4 cases of beer heading to the deer lease. Told him he was a bootlegger.
Um, four cases of beer for 30 days for my grandfather was nothing. And it was Pearl so not like it was that strong.
I got a bootlegging ticket in college taking Tx beer into OK.

This hits home except that my MIL talks about the vacations she’s going to take like she’s capable. “I want to do a river cruise in Germany.” Other than, you can’t fit in a seat in airplane, walk or stand long enough to get on the ship, walk up stairs, walk around the villages, and the cost that you won’t ever spend your money for, yes, this would be great. This is the lady that once vetoed a trip to Telluride because “the hotel rooms will just reek of marijuana” and made us go to bumfuck Arkansas where she sat in the house and pouted because we wanted to go hike/fish/play golf and she couldn’t physically do those things.
My MIL won't go anywhere unless a casino is in the very near vicinity.

What kind of fees would an M&A advisor typically charge? Flat fee or % of sale?
Some work success fee, some retainer, some take up front.
I’ve taken a retainer but credited it back at close with a % of the Enterprise Value of the sale.
Varies shop to shop. -

I'd like to know size and how great that 10x company is knowing you are in residential services businesses.... I'm selling a manufacturing company in a sought after market segment for 7x right now. and chewbacca may be in a niche market that could drive multiples up so that's entirely possible.
We offered 10X on $10MM Adjusted EBITDA and were 2-3 turns short on Total Enterprise Value. $47MM in Annual Gross Revenue.
