  1. I like flying into Miami or Ft. Lauderdale and taking a rental car down.   Maybe stay a night on the mainland because if you leave at the wrong time the traffic will be a bitch around Key Largo and Islamorada.   I usually stay at a place within stumbling distance of Duval St. since its usually a party trip.   I also get a rental with a kitchen because I usually like cooking breakfast or lunch on my own and then dining out at night.

It was really dead. There are probably more people in the suites than in the seats.

I think there's a combination of issues. Most live sporting events are going down in attendance, cold windy day, Nascar has run off a percentage of the old school rednecks, cost, long fricking races, no wrecking, single-ish race line at TMS.

they are still completely clueless as to how to get back to what made the sport so popular in the first place

I'm curious to hear what you mean by that. Are you basically saying that it's just been an equipment/tactical advantage behind his success?

Bump for the fantasy game. Hurry up and join, nerds.

A lot of his success is because has been in the best equipment since day 1.    Also, and to his credit, he had remarkable chemistry with Chad Knaus as far as dialing in the racecar's setup goes.   It does take a great driver to be able to diagnose what a car is doing and provide the correct feedback to the team.  He and Knaus will probably go down as the greatest combo in the modern era.  My biggest knock against him is he has never been worth a shit in traffic, making great moves to pass other cars.   You can find plenty of clips of him causing the big one because he had his head up his ass.   You can't find many highlights of him making a great pass or a move that makes you say wow.  He is the ultimate front runner, getting out front due to being the fastest car or because of strategy.

Joey takes the 2nd Duel in spectacular fashion, coming from 4th on the last lap.

And to quote Menard from Sunday  - "Jimmie does that a lot at these tracks"

Jimmie is the most overrated racer in history.   He is a driver, not a racer.
