  1. Cyclone Corral - the bbq is good, but nobody would ever mistake it for a current Texas Monthly top 50 place.   I like it better when they do a catering job instead of eating at the restaurant.   I'm pretty sure its still only open from like April to October.  It's a very large open air pavilion for the dining area with a shitload of fans blowing to keep it tolerable during the summer.  It's good for large groups.   It's great if you are a big eater, they serve it all you can eat family style so you can get your money's worth that way.

  2. I caught a game in Cedar Park the other night.   Gurianov really stood out with his speed compared to everyone else on the ice.   Hinze did too but not as much as Gurianov.  Bow needs some new pads or something because he was giving up some huge rebounds.   Gleason had the best puck handling and passing skills of anybody on the ice, but good god he is a slow skater.

You can’t argue with his results.

But holy fuck how are his receivers always open?  It doesn’t matter what scraggly white guy they toss in there, come 3rd and 10, he’s going to be open, and Brady will find him.

they run a shitload of pick plays

Sounds like people in crowd are blowing whistles. Is that even legal?

in the same vein- stupid that Mississippi state fans can still use their dumb ass cowbells at home games and bowl games but they’re supposed to stop using them when the offense lines up. They still use them during the snap count but nothing ever happens to them.

goddamn this is annoying as shit, to the point where im about to watch something else

  5. On the day of the Jarrell tornado I was in Moody.   I heard on the radio there was a tornado warning nearby and could see the cloud but I got some bad info on where it was headed.   I thought it was headed for where I was at on the north side of Moody but it was going actually going to the southwest at a parallel angle to highway 317.    I started going south on 317 and then after a few minutes the radio said it was headed for where I was at on 317.   I had my truck doing 100+ mph going southbound, then I cut over to the east on FM 1237 to go pickup my grandmother and get her out of her old house.   I took her out for a ride back to the east away from all the action.   The tornado had gone back up in the clouds when the storm crossed the path I took.

It was really amazing that it struck where it did in Jarrell.   That subdivision at the time was in the middle of nowhere and as powerful as that storm was it was incredibly lucky that that few amount of people were killed.   If it had come through the middle of Temple or Belton it would have killed hundreds.   Sheltering in a bathroom or closet did nothing for those that were killed.   There was nothing left in that subdivision except for the foundations.
