Are they treated like everyone else in the military, at least to start, with the limey version of R. Lee Ermey in their grill, or do they go through a more "refined" basic training experience?  I'm sure whatever it is, it is as close to the real world as they get, but I imagine it would take some brass balls to haze the guy that you know is destined to be the boss of your boss very soon.

Prince Philip was determined that Charles be sent to boarding school to "toughen him up".  I don't think they get any special treatment from the military and all have served.

"During Charles' service window, the UK saw a number of shooting conflicts, most notably the Falklands War with Argentina and The Troubles, a military occupation of Northern Ireland. He saw action in neither conflict.

While the Prince of Wales didn't see combat duty, he still trained vigorously with the members of units to which he was attached. He has trained in undersea warfare and commanded a Royal Navy Destroyer and has learned to fly helicopters and twin-engine jet fighters with the RAF. Charles also successfully completed the parachute regiment's jump training at an age much older than the average recruit."

  2. I got to see DKR play on my birthday in 1949.  My parents took us to the game in Dallas.  We lived in Tulsa and I was a Sooner growing up.  I had never seen such a huge crowd.  Luckily I changed teams, just like DKR.  He will always be my football hero.

  3. I'm really starting to feel better about the market today and this coming from a guy who basically sold 75% of portfolio around early April.  I think I actually heard the number of air travelers is climbing, no longer declining, and that Starbucks in China is doing well with a huge percentage now open and just now learned that China auto sales in April outpaced April a year ago.

When I compare my eagerness to buy back in I have to balance that with what Buffet said, or didn't say.  Still on the fence but warming up.

Actually, there was a Neiman Marcus in Preston Center from 1950-1965 off of Preston and Northwest Highway. It was free standing and not in a mall. I am not sure what corner it was on at Preston Center though. I know that the Titches later turned into a Sanger Harris then a Foleys then the Target/Ross/Office Depot/DSW.

Thank you thank you thank you.  I knew it was in that area.  Grandma got her first pair of "city" shoes there.

Since it’s a pay site, what % is “some” according to Andrew?

Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that of the 37,000 who died in the U.S. with Covid-19 between Feb. 1 and April 25, 31% were over 85. But 40%, or 14,600 people, were between 45 and 75 years old, and could have expected to live many more years. Total deaths linked to the virus in the U.S. passed 64,000 on Friday.

Most of the responses to the article stated this was BS

I understand actuarial science, in general, but I am skeptical of a metric that says someone 50-59 with severe health problems will live an average of 21+ year more--which is only 6 years less than an average person. This is a characterization of "severe" that is unfamiliar to me.

Without a doubt. But she loves me and knows I’m fully committed to her and fidelity so that means we get to have theoretical conversations that are pleasant about goofy shit. She’s my best friend and we talk about pretty much everything.

You sir will have a long and happy marriage.

Well it opened in 1965 and I believe basically in the configuration that it is in.  They added the Lord & Taylor wing in the 80s, or 70s, then the Nordstrom wing (Barney's wing at the time), food court and theater in the 90s or oughts.

That makes me think it was open at one time.  I seem to recall it was located on Loop 12 at i35??  Was it maybe called Prestonwood?

By my unofficial count I've been to north of 200 games at DKR, and all but 3 since 1992. The atmosphere that night was the best I've ever seen in that stadium, and I don't know anyone who was there that feels differently...

This is WHY regional rivalrys are so damned fun.  ISU, WVU, nada.

  9. I managed to listen to the entire broadcast and I cannot imagine how he lasted 4 1/2 hours.  I'm about 8 years younger than Warren and I had to go to the bathroom 3 times :).

His sidekick had very little to say and if he is the heir apparent we may be in for 1 hour shareholder meetings.

Most businesses had enough momentum, backlog, billed work, etc so that April wasn’t too bad. May will be a bloodbath.

I'd hope 3rd Qtr 10ks will be the bottom, possibly YE.  By then we should have a pretty good indication if the economy is regressing or progressing as I hope at a much faster rate in 2021.

Dumped last of my TSLA shares yesterday. It’ll prob rally long term and I might buy in again at some point, but wanted to book some profits this week based on the recent rally. It’s volatility was a bit distracting for me, so it’s gone.

Ouch!  I hope you made a huge profit.   I understand buying naked calls.  That's easy.  Where I get confused is buy to open or sell to open naked puts.  Right now May 15th puts $700 are going for 48.35 Bid.  If you BUY TO OPEN what is the profit/loss if it goes to $800 or down to $600

Oh yeah, well that's too bad.  When I was a kid, I didn't get the luxury of Toys R Us.  I had to settle for the miniscule toy aisle at a Gibson's or a Winn's or Edison's,  or if I were REALLY gotdam lucky, a once per quarter trip to Best products.

So you and your fancy childhood growing up with Toys R Us can go eff yourself.

I've never heard of any of those companies.  Where do you live?

I'd settle for tearing down the monstrous malls that are 99% empty but have your aforementioned bank and a TGIF and two or three other shitty chain POS places that sell shit you can buy cheaper from China or in a bag at HEB in the frozen section. All the non-food fucking come from China any fucking way. Why can't we tear down the huge AMC theater housing center called a mall and plant some fucking trees.

Can we start with West Oaks and Greenspointe in Houston?
