  1. I’m old. Seven decades of SWC, Big 12 football. Time for your generation to move on. I understand. Nevertheless I was always able to drive 98 miles north to watch us win in Waco. Gramp will rely on TV now more then ever. Texas 42 Baylor 11
  2. I guess they reserved the fuck Auburn for only when they play Auburn? That's what go Dixieland Delight banned for several years.
  3. One of the funnier lines on X today happened when someone asked if Paxton's wife was present. The response was no, she is making lunch for the mistress
  4. I just want Paxton gone so it is really hard for me to be objective but I thought Vassar was a wus but held his own against Little, which really surprised me. I figured he'd be an easy target.
  5. The Big 12 Media rights run through 2031. It will be here sooner then we think and then what? I don't see these media companies throwing wads of cash around by that time with streaming and cable money woes uncertainity.
  6. Satchel, are you certain we were driving the bus? I always thought it was okie who wanted the move.
  7. A wee bit off topic but intersting.. B1G 2024-2024 Schedule Released They got it right for the most part. They ended divisional play. But just in case you don't think tOSU still runs the place their permenant opponents are Michigan, Illinois and Northwestern. Each university was asked to list their three preferred rivals. Everyone is scheduled to play eveyone over a two year period. There are 11 rivalries now considered permanent, games that will be played on an annual basis: Michigan-Ohio State, Michigan-Michigan State, Minnesota-Wisconsin, Minnesota-Iowa, Wisconsin-Iowa, Nebraska-Iowa, Indiana-Purdue, Illinois-Purdue, Illinoise-Northwestern, USC-UCLA and Maryland-Rutgers. Each team will play three others in both 2024 and 2025. They include: Illinois: Northwestern, Purdue, Ohio State Indiana: Purdue, Michigan State, Maryland Iowa: Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin Maryland: Rutgers, Indiana, Michigan Michigan: Ohio State, Michigan State, Maryland Michigan State: Michigan, Penn State, Indiana Minnesota: Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska Nebraska: Iowa, Minnesota, UCLA Northwestern: Illinois, Ohio State, Purdue Ohio State: Michigan, Illinois, Northwestern Penn State: Michigan State, USC, Rutgers Purdue: Indiana, Illinois, Northwestern Rutgers: Maryland, Penn State, UCLA UCLA: USC, Nebraska, Rutgers USC: Penn State, Wisconsin, UCLA Wisconsin: Minnesota, Iowa, USC
  8. WSU and OSU are probably the two most nervous Pac 12 members left standing and they are hoping.
  9. Baylor rarely, if ever, wins in Austin. We own them.
  10. The few of us left that recall November 1959 and November 1961 think payback is way overdue
  11. The announcers in the UVA game are more excited or trying to be than the fan base in hopes they have a game.
  12. Interesting read about Greg Sankey but this one paragraph caught my eye. (One apparent concession to A&M not standing in the way of Texas’s arrival in the league: Bjork says the first football game in the resumption of the Longhorns-Aggies rivalry will be in College Station, not Austin.) https://www.si.com/college/2022/09/06/sec-commissioner-greg-sankey-leads-way-college-sports-daily-cover
  13. I've experienced the heartbreak of dementia on both sides of our families and there is nothing more cruel. The look from their eyes tells you they know what is going on but they just cannot speak. I'm glad Coach Morriss doesn't suffer this any longer. RIP big guy. Ride that Harley to the sky.
  14. I don't think so. He was speechless. As he said "I never thought I'd see it".
  15. Never forgive osborne for destroying the best conference in NCAA football at the time. I think their fans are tolerable, even somewhat admirable, but their administration sucks and I hope they never win another game. By chance if they do once make it to the B1G CG I hope they lose by 90 points. Or last second TD.
  16. Every day, the university system makes about $6 million off that land. Now, UT's crude and natural gas, not fundraising or investing prowess, has positioned the school's endowment to overtake Harvard University's as the richest in US higher education. Read The Big Take.
  17. So if the B1G has negotiated a huge payout per school, equally, including USC and UCLA, how would adding four more to dilute the pot of gold be received by the old members?
  18. I don't believe this is correct. If memory serves the SWC decided before the breakup that home receipts would not be split with visiting teams other than maybe travel expenses. That was by design to what your report, to keep teams with bigger followings with more money and let the smaller gates like UH, TCU, Baylor suffer.
  19. True but not Bama unless they are playing the three others you mentioned. Bars only count as one or two or three viewers. It's the folks that stay at home that count. The City of Houston is like a lot of Texas. They only watch winners. Texans attendance has been dwindling but UH never set any records other than Bill Yoeman days.
  20. Couldn't have said it any better myself. What a monster collection of garbage.
  21. It certainly wasn't the UH. The pros ran NCAA football out of Houston.
  22. The topic of Vandy being purged from the SEC is covered well by all schools in the SEC. Vandy will never be purged.
  23. Too bad we couldn't have these prices back in the 1990 when we went bankrupt in Webb County due to prices below a $1.
