Listen, I would murder every single person on this board for $500. I'd murder you and several others twice for $1k. That range is still plenty fine to chase in my world.
I'm putting together a list of posters that I'm pretty sure have $1k stuffed in their matresses.

If Wilcox becomes available (very likely), are we sure he's here next year?
Hold on. I’ll text him

Mack and GD mismanaged that side of the ball if you ask me.
Those of us that can apply context agree.

It was a dumb move to choose Ohio State and he doubled down on stupid by reclassifying and going early

Is there any fucking good news anywhere near this program?
Fuck.
Dude, it’s just a bye week circle jerk. Nothing here is of substance.

It sounds like to me that Surly needs to unionize and get a seat at the table with the fat cats and spineless trust funders. I nominate CTJ as the people’s’ president. Solidarity!

Not once on this board or in real life have I ever represented that Sarkisian's staff had poor hires on it, on paper. Literally, you cannot find a single instance in which I pointed at Flood or PK as a bad hire "on paper". I have said that after 9+ months, yeah, the PK hire isn't like the home run that it was. That's called having eyes and a brain and watching the games. Watching anyone defend what the dude has done so far has been laughable.
As to Sarkisian himself being a bad hire? That is absolutely true. I didn't like the hire, said as much, and have continued to reinforce that I thought it was a shit hire. Then, he hired, on paper, a pretty good staff which gave me some hope. Now, we've seen little fruit borne from the "great staff" he assembled. I had some hope and optimism for about 7 months, and it was nice. Since September 11, I've seen a reboot to the same horror film we've been subjected to for the prior 11 years.
So, no, the assertion that I claimed the hires of the assistants was a bad thing is bullshit and revisionist. And yes, I said Sarkisian was a shit hire and I am comfortable with maintaining that position. You and the other guys can continue to preach patience and sing his praises, and that's fine. I'll keep watching and hope you're actually right. But when he's shitcanned after his 4th consecutive 7 win season and Texas is still in the spin cycle of college football retreads, I will absolutely take dark, petty, cold comfort in getting to mock all of you for it.
I did enjoy the Yosemite Sam imagery though. It made me laugh.
The important thing is that you take a position.

i've alread said Sark is here for 4 and PK is back again next year. that is separate from I think he ain't gonna cut it.
Prediction is an illusion, and you ignoring this fact is diminishing your enjoyment of Texas football in this moment. Open yourself up and let's see where this thing goes.

He's a RT that should please Flood the Size Queen. Los Angeles kid so that should make it easy for Sarkisian to recruit.
We need to get all up in SoCal's guts this and next cycle.

this. I believe Mr CDC himself said he required our programs to be top 10. then he hired 7 win steve who hired a PAC 12 DC, not to mention a S&C coach from the football factory known as Cal. I wonder how much it will pain CDC to allow his HC to fire his DC, pay the buyout, and hire a new guy at a higher rate only to shit the bed again.
We're not going fire PK. We're going to hire Wilcox when Cal fires him and then you're going to have to cheer for both of them next year.

So Lincoln didn’t fire him after game? He wasted an entire offseason after this one? Huh… crazy

I'm thinking/hoping this is because the DL in PKs scheme have different responsibilities than they did under Ash, and this is causing our players to be hesitant while they learn to play instinctually in the new scheme.
I know we're currently just shitting on things, but do we get all of them back next year? I'm assuming our preseason thoughts about Coburn getting drafted flew out the window.

I guess lots of bullets are being saved for the portal, which makes sense on the OL.
Absolutely.

Yeah they can. It’s called a pass rush and we’ll be annihilated with it.If we have elite WRs, the pass rush won’t have time to get home.

With a Vegas O/U of 7.5, I had us at 8-4. Then I drank the kool-aid after TCU and went to 9-3. After two thorough bed shittings, I’m at 7-5.
Make no mistake, it’s hurting recruiting. We suck until we don’t, and there are some elite players who like us but want to see improvement.
Portal baby! Pitch playing time to guys that have been around the block and value the opportunity Texas provides.

Has anyone seen any reporting on the portal success around the country? Like which programs have taken the most and how they are doing. Probably not worth looking at until the end of the season, but I imagine some teams have added a lot of wins.

Don't love this part. If Kiffin leaves, Ole Miss could make a hire that helps them a lot. Monken leaving UGA and getting replaced now would also reduce some of the uncertainty there.
Quit being afraid.

I propose "hey recruits, Sark schemed a WR open and got him the ball on the run for the first time in 20 years come to texas."

If we get Evan Stewart to pair with Worthy, it's going to forgive some deficiencies in other areas. I always look at the two deep on paper and want some sort of balance, but the reality is that building one elite unit can also be the way to attack things.

This going to be crazy. I really hope Texas is able to grab some talent (players, coaches, support staff) during all the uncertainty.
