I get what you're saying but the CBA is set up to protect the owners (essentially from themselves) and the new CBA is even more punitive towards higher taxpayers with new handicaps on player movement/acquisition. If a player wants to take the supermax, he damn well better know what he's truly signing up for -- and that's kneecapping his chance for a ring. It shouldn't be like that but it cuts both ways. The players didn't have to accept the CBA. They could have held out for a different cap structure that made it easier to build teams around winning, but they wanted to max their earning potential.

Billionaires that sell their franchises for about five times more than they bought it after like 30 years of ownership certainly do a good job at painting players as the bad guys.  Props to them.

Damion Lillard signs $176M deal to eat every meal for the rest of his career at Romano's Macaroni Grill. also Damian Lillard: "i dont have much of an appetite for italian food."

this guy really gets on my nerves. "i don't want to chase titles, i'm not a ring chaser that's not me. also, i want this organization to give me all the money they have to spend on players. also, i want to play on a competitive team, because i don't really like not competing for titles."

jesus christ. score your empty buckets, swim in your scrooge mcduck style money room, and stfu.

I mean, Portland was the 5th worst team in the NBA this year. Some of the blame can be put on Dame sure but still might be time for a divorce.

Lillard likes to smell his own farts like most superstars, but think Dame had a point about the devaluing of the regular season. Sure the playoffs are where legends are made but as a fan I kind of enjoy the regular season! It's interesting when a guy like Dame can drop 70 points and not just be the 2nd or 3rd option on some loaded team when he was in his prime.

Punching a concrete wall hard enough to break your hand sober is wild.

Have seen one guy break his hand on a tree, another put his hand through a wall in a frat house but they were both 21 years old or so, hammered and having girl problems. Anyways...NBA playoffs.

I just don't feel the same for Luka as I did Dirk. Two totally different personalities and how they approach the game. Dirk was extremely locked in to get better during his career. Luka isn't. I believe he's on record saying he's not even a big fan of the NBA and the style of game played. He comes into camp overweight too often.

He's a great individual player but as far as making his team better and being a leader, not sure if he's ever going to be that or even cares to. It's going to be hard to pair him with teammates to be a legit contender because of his style of play.

I'm indifferent at this point if he leaves but that might be more of I'm just indifferent to this front office and Cuban for a long time now.

Yeah, Dirk and Luka's maturity are miles apart. Dirk was an emotional rock. Luka can be high fiving a teammate one moment then two minutes later he's giving said teammate a side eye and 15 feet behind the play because he's yelling at a ref.

Mavs front office has definitely done a terrible job the last couple of years but at the same time feels like the organization is walking on egg shells around Luka sometimes. Hell, we had to trade KP at his low value mark because KP/Luka didn't get along for some reason.

Sacramento supposedly made a franchise altering bad pick in choosing Marvin Bagley over Luka and they're doing just fine a short time later.
