After the first half, Self told the ESPN reporter that he mentioned that loss in Lawrence constantly.  Self didn't spare feelings about how shitty they were that game and they wanted revenge.

Truth--but that talent difference that was obvious in Lawrence in January was basically squashed completely last night. TCU looked way too tight and almost as if the lights at home were just too bright.

You can rest your starters in the second half to help your run. If these had been decently close games I'd be okay but three straight blowouts. We've always struggled to make shots but after leading the league in a bunch of defensive categories for most of the season, now all it takes is a few passes to get wide open. We are fundamentally broken. Nobody recovers this late in the season from this level of shit.

Yeah, it appears that your peak was in Ames a few weeks ago. Not going int he right direction, obviously. Would help everyone out a lot if yall can get it right for the Baylor game in Stillwater next week...

  3. What amazes me about Kansas and Self is that they got absolutely boat-raced by TCU at home last month, 83-60. TCU looked a million times more talented and athletic than Kansas that day. And the entire conference schedule is just a ball buster, so you'd expect things to not be exactly in KU's favor in FW last night. And TCU manages to score 58 points at home and gets out-rebounded, with Miles and Lampkin back, a game after scoring 100 on OSU. Keep in mind, that this is also after KU comes back in a huge way against Baylor just two days earlier.

I doubt we would see anyone else in the league do this...but Self shows again why he's the best coach in college hoops.

  4. I’ve seen this movie before…KU takes first by themselves or with someone, then we watch ISU go all in at Hilton South and win the Big 12 Tournament…and then when everyone calls them a Final Four dark horse, they’ll get beat by some midmajor in the 1st round.

  5. 12-6 is probably the most likely finish for the top teams in the league. Just too tough on the road against so many of these teams, especially if TCU gets healthy with Miles and Lampkin. My guess is that UT and KU finish 12-6, BU, 11-7, ISU 10-8, KSU, and TCU get to 10-8. OSU is 9-9. WVU has 5 games left and I think 8 regular season conference wins gets them into the Tournament, especially if they win their first game in the Big 12 Conference Tourney. I just don’t think OU or Tech have enough winnable games left to be anything more than a NIT team.

NBA player Greg Brown, NBA player Jericho Sims, NBA player Kai Jones, 4-year starter at PG Matt Coleman, 4-year starter Andrew Jones.

    All on the same team.

Couldn't beat an Abilene Christian team who shot 29.9% from the field.

I hate to bring it all up again but you have to almost be purposely throwing games to be that bad of a coach.

Not to mention that ACU had the talent of an above average rec team at your favorite Big 12 campus.

This post seems extremely sarcastic, but last night's collapse was classic ISU shit that's been driving nails in my coffin since I was old enough to give a shit.

Thankfully I was exhausted from getting up early and moving snow all day and fell asleep with ISU up 23.

NO sarcasm at all--except for the Big 12 Tournament that brings out the best in ISU hoops for some weird reason, y'all seem very mercurial every season.

I understudy there is a lot of young talent with much higher potential than last year and it’s year 2 in a complex system on both sides of the ball. These facts are not lost on me.

the facts that seem to be lost on many people who are blindly excited for a championship caliber season this year is that this staff went 5-7, lost 6 games in a row and one of those games that was lost was Kansas at home.

I want to believe...help my unbelief. It feels like it shouldn't be worse than last year. I mean, no way should we expect a 6-game losing streak or a loss to Kansas, right? But the nagging feeling that Sark is in way over his head, just as I felt watching Strong in his second season and Herman by his third season, keeps hanging in there.

Changing coaches again would not be ideal, but its also inevitable if another 5-win season rolls around.

I can't see OU ever going to the B1G (without UT). After what the CFB world has witnessed happened to Nebraska, nobody in the OU stables would be willing or foolish enough to take that risk.

KU is the only piece that the B1G will want from the next iteration of the Big 12. If KU can make their football program anything above worst P5 program, their hoops program, AAU membership, and KC market will make them the next B1G piece

Yeah, I can’t say I’m jealous. I’d sincerely rather lose with Shaka Smart than root for a Scott Drew coached team. Calipari beats him as my least favorite coach, but not by much. It pains me he gave up his stupid zone and became a really good coach.

Completely agree--the fact that Baylor and Scott Drew have a natty is as ridiculous to me as the fact that Texas hasn't come close to winning one ever.

  11. I think Baylor wins this outright by beating ISU, KU beats TCU, but loses to Texas on Saturday for the 2 seed, but Tech loses at OSU to stay as the 3 seed, TCU loses at WVU and will be the 5 seed, and OU loses at KSU, which will make the 6 seed ISU, the 7 seed KSU, the 8 seed OU, and 9 seed WVU.

Final is Tech vs Baylor with Baylor winning.

Sounds like it's time for us to do what we do best.  Drink KC dry and win the Big 12 tournament after a middling regular season.

Albeit, this "middling regular season" has been an overwhelming success for us, all things considered.  Winning the Big 12 tournament buy Otz a mountain of good will regardless of what happened in the Dance.

I mean, Otz would just be following in the line of Prohm, Hoiberg, and Eustachy. All 3 have won tourneys for ISU at Hilton South.

We can make the 3's but today was not one of those days. I think playing defense the way they do affects their shooting. We just are not as physically gifted as Baylor, Tech or Kansas.

I don’t know about being less physically gifted Tech and Kansas. Tech just plays harder than anyone else I’ve seen this year and KU is SOFT. Baylor is definitely better though…
