I plowed through Midnight Mass.  It's less horror and more just spooky, but I enjoyed a lot of the dialogue.  Definitely a good watch if you are a fan of the other horror ventures Flannagan did on Netflix (Hill House, Bly Manor)

Enjoyed.  Unlike others, I didn't care for the Preacher man's acting.  His cadence or something with his voice was off.  But, it slowly grew on me and even more so after learning about his history.

So... I just thought about this and maybe I am just wishcasting...

But this new defensive system is a "keep the OL off the LBs" type, right?  We're more accustomed to the DT / NT attacking/disrupting.

Think about it... we're bitching exactly the opposite of what we've always bitched about.  Before, it was, "The LBs suck ass and can't get through the wash, but our DTs are kicking ass..."  Now it's, "The DTs looks slow as shit, but our LBs are looking good - finally."

If every DT looks bad all of a sudden, there is something we aren't seeing (other than production.)

I think there's some truth to this but Sark has voiced his concerns with the lack of disruption from the DL.

How many starting defenders think a shoulder charge into the runner is tackling?

    Thompson

    Overshown

    Foster

I have no complaints with Overshown's tackling.  B.J. needs to get it together. My biggest complaint with him is selling out for for the strip without securing a tackle.  He gave up two TDs in the first two games because he went all out for the strip without leaving his feet for a tackle.  Shoulder charging is not necessarily bad when using the sideline to your advantage.  Earl Thomas made plenty of those.

Was at the game and don’t want to crawl way up thread:

Unless I was so drunk I couldn’t see straight (always a possibility)…J’Tavion Sanders was in on several snaps at TE and DE.

Do we think he’ll land at one or the other? Or will he try to be a two-way?

Pretty sure you're confusing him with Jacoby Jones as they both wear #3.   Would be cool if it was him though.

What? No. I wish to have another QB ready to go in case he gets knocked out of the game.

What I am wishing for is for Casey to continue to score on just about every drive and wins the Heisman.

I knew what you were saying.  It's amazing some people are so invested with the QB debate.

We have no DL.  None. None of them make plays and I’m honestly not sure of who is out there at any point in time. We had some giant fat guy wearing 46 playing DT. What the fuck is that?

Thornton.  One of the "standouts" in Spring.  Our edge game is... unsatisfactory.

The personnel was very puzzling as well. Maybe PK just had no option, but at one point we had an edge guy that reminded me of Hager get pushed and ragdolled. I think our guy was 43. I’m not exactly sure why we didn’t go heavy up front and stopped getting pushed off the ball.

J Bush? Some may be confusing him with Brockermeyer.  Teams run at Bush every time he goes in, dating back to Colorado.

Thats the one that stuck out the most to me - the play where he broke (literally?) that LB's ankles but instead of going upfield he cut towards the sidelines where there were two defenders and one blocker.  All I can think is that he must have thought that LB was in pursuit and so he didn't want to cut back toward the middle of the field.

This - he's not used to breaking ankles in practice.  And, his view and path to EZ were blocked by the ref.

Thanks.  Already watched it.  I’ll just have to  wait for the full replay.  Interested to see how the defense looked.  I’ll take <20 pts every time.

Take away 2-3 plays, and the D played excellent.  There was at least one coverage bust and one play with far too many missed tackles.  Overall, very sound.  Like many, I expected more disruption from the DL.  But, I think we have to temper our expectations with PK's scheme. Don't expect to see as much penetration in the backfield as last year - also expect to see less explosive plays from the other team's Offense.  Still looking for a legit pass rusher.

  10. Card seems to excel at short to intermediate routes and throwing the ball over the middle.  Something we haven't been the best at.  Would like to see more touch from him (see Bijan TD catch).

Worthy had an absolutely filthy route.

On LHN, you could see Jamison walking around the field after the game with a smile.

Check out this scuttle butt route by Bijan:

I haven't read anything negative about Worthy except that he is currently sick. Has he been dropping passes or not getting separation? Or maybe just young and learning a new system?

Coach Banks says he has the football IQ of a JR.  Could have been limited to special teams but would guess he's talking about offense as well.  Most "reporters" expect him to start at slot.

Yeah, I was also appalled when I saw someone use the word “stupid” on here.  I try to have a reasonable discussion where the worst thing anyone says is “you flat out fucking suck you fuckface”, but invariably someone has to ruin it by typing something really nasty like the s-word.

Totally dude.  Was quoting someone else too!  But ya know, quotes on this site don't always work.

That majors and junior are working at C and kerstetter only at RT makes you think that if major gets the job and gets hurt that they would move and replace junior rather than kerstetter. But would kerstetter’s replacement at tackle (assuming karic) be better than junior’s at guard?  Haven’t heard much about guard depth pushing okafor or junior for a spot.

Latest reports have Tope at guard when Angilau is center.

  14. If I remember the documentary correctly, peeps in Mexico buy large quantifies of chemicals from China to produce fentanyl.  Much cheaper to produce something from raw ingredients vs. buying something that's already produced.

Would guess the majority of fentanyl gets mixed with other drugs by dealers trying to make more money by lacing it and not the peeps producing it.

Pretty sure most of this is covered on "Dope".

Loki is on a different timeline. Statue at the end should have told you.

Struggling to understand this.  The sacred timeline was a sort of pruned parallel universes, yeah?  So what's the difference between that and a mutiverse that Kang defines (besides order)?  No comprende.

  16. For this comic book non-nerd, it's been more about the performance and dynamic of characters, along with dialog.  My least favorite episode was the one where TH and OW weren't together.  Their dynamic together drew me into this series and the plot almost went off the deep end.

Edit - the plot did venture way too off for my liking but the characters kept me in.
