I’m not doubting you, just mind bottled.  I’ve never seen his coaching attributes mentioned anywhere (here, numbers, txag, rant). Literally every post is about his ability to bag drop, and been that way for years now.

If he is dropping bags, he needs to get better at it because his recruiting has been lousy. By far the weakest link on the staff, imo, and I'm not even sure what Dickey does.

Look, yall will see how it goes.  You can say it was Banks, but I'd argue JFF's success with Kliff Kingsbury's offense was probably a bigger selling feature, regardless of how 247 assigns the credit for recruits.  What I'm saying is that, to posters who weren't looking through maroon sunglasses, it was apparent that Banks was, at best, a mediocre recruiter.  And that isn't going to get it done.

A guy like Banks has a reputation as a top recruiter, but does that predate his time at Bama? He was there from 2018-2020, so at the time he was hired they had won 5 of the last 9 national championships. Looks like he was part of some nice classes early in his tenure at aggy (coming off the JFF high) but then they trailed off a little to just "okay".

He was dogshit at A&M. Honestly. Not trying to be a dick, but I couldn't believe yall hired him. Or Terry Joseph, for that matter.

No. This meltdown is warranted and timely. We need a serious wake up call. Theres a reason we have sucked dick on the field for so long. Elite OL and DL are the scarce resources everyone has to fight over, and we have barely been in that fight.

Good take here. Although when you have a good OL and DL but no elite receivers (and a mediocre QB), you definitely realize the importance of those positions.

Yup, the NIL scares our athletic department because donors paying players directly might mean those donors pay less to the department in general.

The goal of this AD is to continue to be the #1 grossing athletic department, actually winning seems like an aside.

I think you'll find that bags will need to be dropped-- legally, now, of course-- to field a competitive team.

I liked some of Ole Miss’ JUCO DL signings, it’s clear Kiffin is trying to get up to speed now on that front. That OL class is...rough.

If A&M has to miss at one position, DT was it.

True, I guess, but true DT isn't that deep. Leave it to Childress to shit that one down his leg.

I agree that Vaka seems like a good kid but I think even with his excitement a guy that would start buried on the depth chart (because he ate his way down it) is going to be hard to keep in the program with the portal, etc.

I wonder about the WR room as well, but I don't know who you guys are truly targeting there. I assume that both Brown and Daniels could see some time at WR a la Smith to go along with Banks. There are 53 offers out from the Ags but I don't know how serious any of them are.

@bizzle are you thinking someone like JJ Henry or KJ Liggins?

Any flip candidates, like Hal Presley (no offer), Sturdivant, or Ketron Jackson?

Roll the dice in the Quay Davis recruitment?

I liked Vaka, too.  He seems like a really good kid that was excited to be a part of the program (for some reason, it's harder to let go of those types), but I'm not sure how much he'd play.

I think JJ Henry is the only realistic WR option of those mentioned.  Staff would love Brian Thomas, Jr.-- not sure how good our chances are there unless Bama steals the Cali kid.  Then he may be ours to lose.  I rarely hear about the rest of those guys; of course, I hadn't heard much about Regis, either.

I loathe aggy as much as anyone here but can’t help but note the they were going to be below 500 two weeks ago and now should win 9, but they still suck major ass.

Eh, we have a ways to go.  I'm not ready to say 9.  I was saying 8-2 before the season.  After Vandy, that looked more like 3-7.  Now I'm back to 8-2, but we could just as easily win or lose the rest of the games.

We'll go as far as Mond takes us, and it's certainly not hard to argue that he sucks.

Think the jury is still out on y'alls O-line. They looked like shit against vandy, serviceable against Bama, and solid against Florida. Ours undoubtedly sucks ass though.

Hard not to agree with this.  We'll see against a better DL (I think?) in Miss State.  So far, it looks better than last year by a pretty wide margin.

Especially if you're a RB. Spiller put up 174 yards and 2 scores on the ground against Florida. Our three RBs combined for 29 yards on 11 carries.

After all the clowning of A&M's O-line we did, too.

We're still in awe of what happened with the OL.  I never thought your/my offseason Horn/Ag OL comparisons were far off.  I didn't think either would amount to much.

We haven't been seriously recruiting him in a long, long time. Maybe he sticks as an OT, but thats a pretty big maybe.

I'm still trying to figure out what he is.  And what Regis is.  We're taking these project guys that don't really have a position when we've finally got a little momentum.  Another head-scratcher.

You win Aggy. Baron Browning, Kenneth Murray, DaShaun White, and Josh White all suck.

Yeah, i know there are some good ones. But relative to skill positions, it is light. Look at our wr commit shadrach banks. Probably should be playing lb. It's not the kids so much as it is where they are choosing to and/or having to play.
