Hard to know if it is picked, but it is more about the situation. No need to take that chance given the game situation. It OK to throw it out of bounds and kick the FG. Quinn is having way too many turnovers this year.. 11 turnovers in 342 touches. That is a turnover every 31.1 touches for perspective Beck is at 34.9 touches
If you pause the video at the 3 second mark, when wingo makes his cut Lee isn't ready for it and he loses all his momentum forward. His ass sinks down and he's on his heels, quinn releases the ball at that moment. I think it was all going good until the ball was tipped. All quinn hate aside we need to teach our OL to fucking punish people for jumping/leaning up in the air every time they attempt it. It's absurd that cam didn't fuck that guy up when he shifted his balance to lift up in the air.

True, but hate the playcall as well. 1-on-1 that needs to be a route and throw into the endzone.
ball to the outside shoulder there and wingo can catch that....I have no idea where it was headed before it was tipped though to be fair. I don't really understand why wingo fell down though either. Just a bizarre play all around honestly after watching it a few times. DJ campbell is not a very smart OL, he might be physical but he misses a lot.

Look at that beauty
Do we teach our OL to let people put their hands in the hair without absolutely punishing their shit for trying it? Cam should have burst forward and buried that dude for going off balanced and raising up in the air. Teach him a valuable lesson.

It is ENRAGING, Biden was a a double agent for Trump, I will never let this assertion die, he was a legacy/civilty obssessed moron that doomed us, he is along with Buchanon, Johnson, and Pierce as the absulete worst presidents in US history because he put his head in the sand.
Yes I know Trump is #1 worst but it is not the issue the issue is that people bled for Joe Biden and he fucking betrayed us for his god damn legacy.
This is not something I thought I'd see, I think there's a thread on here somewhere that's chocked full of people claiming Biden might be the best president during their lifetime. Strange times.

No wonder Quinn is such a pussy....you can't even bother to @ me if you're going to bring me up, pussy.
It’s much more entertaining to see you pop your troll head out of a hole even when you aren’t summoned lol. Giga chad that you are.

Cool, you must have a lot going on. I underestimated the defense and the run game. Glad they carried the load, especially the OL. Run game improvement the last few weeks is one of the better developments. Still think the pass game needs to improve to see Texas deep in the playoffs. I guess it is possible that Quinn can be the Texas version of Dilfer. I’ll be happy if that is how it plays out
LOL. You signed up a year after me and have 1500 more posts. Settle down James Dean. I told you and that crayon eating fuck BO&W to not panic about aggy. I have zero idea how you could underestimate Texas’s defense in the 12th game of the year. If they take the field goals offered to them they still don’t beat us lol. Water under the bridge now tho, Georgia will not be that easy to beat. Quinn needs to not turn the ball over. We can agree on that I think.

There is no chance Texas makes noise in the playoffs, if Quinn throws for 200 yards a game. Debatable that Texas makes the playoffs, if Quinn throws for 200 vs A&M
Found this gem lol. Thread is littered with this “if Quinn does this, if Quinn does that…we don’t make this or that” haha

We weren’t supposed to be able to win in Fayetteville or CS with Ewers running the show. They’re running out of material.
Any day now we will lose a game, they’re sure of it.

Idk, think the whole world sees dubs. Which I acknowledge.
The video that was posted of the good pass to helm, Kirk Herbstreit of all people is praising Quinn for the skills he shows. That dude has never been shy to shit all over Texas and their players/coaches. The whole world sees it though.

Yes, it will be a revamped OL. Let's see what shakes out but I have confidence in Flood. It will also help that Arch is a legitimate running threat to keep defenses honest.
to be clear I hope you're right, I really do. I'm just not certain it's a great idea to expect a 5 star phenom who has shown bright flashes to be the best player in college football before he actually is. See this thread for why.

. Holy projection, Batman.
You called out Arch, I answered. Yes, I think Arch is going to be great. Why would I think that? Is it the 13 TDs (9 pass, 4 run) he's had in basically 2.5-3 games worth of action? That Arch has the longest passing TD of the year? That Arch has the longest run so far of any player on the team this year? That he scored a HUGE touchdown for us on his first play of the A&M game?
He has been fantastic in limited opportunities.
You just skirted him doing all that stuff with the guys I mentioned won't be there anymore. He also will have to do it against some defenses with a pulse. ULM and miss state are barely functioning defenses. If you think replacing helm, bond, banks, majors, williams, conner, blue means arch just lights shit up next year then you're bat shit crazy.

I just hope you guys are as forgiving with Arch as you are with Quinn
forgiving? playoffs? playoffs? You are one of the morons who hated PK, and didn't like sark...blah blah blah. I'll defend arch with the same vehemence I have defended sark, pk, quinn, taaffe and etc. Everything he does that isn't up to you chuckle fucks standards I'll be in his thread sticking up for him. He's a longhorn, that's all I need to know to defend him.

Mac Jones is the perfect example. He played in Sarkisian's system in 2019-2020. In 2019, he backed up Tua and started 2 games for an injured Tua. The Auburn game and the bowl game, he went 1-1 in those games. Then he proceeded to rip through the 2020 season en route to an undefeated season with eye popping stats. I am guessing Manning performs more like 2020 Mac Jones.
You think arch is going to throw anywhere near 4500 yards, 41 TD's and 4 picks next year????? That's a hell of a take

I don't believe Arch will make a "ton" of mistakes. He's been in Sark's system for almost two years, and based on the limited action we've seen so far, he's already learning from his mistakes. After being way too aggressive and loose with the ball vs. ULM, he played disciplined vs. Miss State the next week. The problem with Ewers is after 30+ starts in 3 years he will make horrible decisions that look like a RS freshman out there. I don't understand why people are scared of Arch making stupid plays when we see it at some point every week with Ewers. Most great QBs get better throughout their college careers. People are so bunkered in with Quinn love that they forget what QB progression is supposed to look like.
Will Arch be perfect? Of course not. But he will bring big play capability that will mitigate turnovers for the most part. We will see games next year where he throws for 300+, 4 TDs, and 2 INTs. And rightly, no one will bitch about it when we score 40-50 points and put up 500+ yards of total offense.
This sounds fantastic while being fantastical. You have absolutely no idea if we will do those things with Arch. We lose two or three OL with a massive amount of experience. Our only wr who has legit big play potential anywhere on the field and a top 3 TE in the country. 50 points and 500 yards of offense...you hate quinn so much you're turning into an aggy over arch.

Why did elko keep looking down after every question they asked him?

I saw all that buddy. I saw him throw an ill advised ball trying to fit one over top and almost get picked. I saw him fit a ball in to Helm and had the DB been a step quicker he likely picks that. I saw him get a ball batted at the line and get picked. And I see those same plays every Saturday in every game. I also saw him make a couple throws that said "he is him" too that a lot of QBs can't make. Do I wish the guy didn't have turnovers? Of course I do. We all do. But if you want a guy who is going to make that throw to Blue on the road in that situation he is also going to make errors trying to make a play too. Yall are going to be pissed at this dude until he leaves if you think he isn't going to make errors.
The other thing that you don't understand is that Sark takes his foot off the throttle when he is up. It's who he is. He was doing the same thing in year one before QE even got here. Last year he proved he could open the offense up in the second half. To make my point when Quinn fumbled he was looking to throw an out route to Juan Davis. We are never serious about offense when Juan Davis is running pass routes. Even in the Georgia game Sark started opening it up in the 2nd half but we waited to long to do it.
There's a great point in here about next year that is going to really piss people off. Arch is going to make a ton of mistakes and some of them are going to be costly. It's what qb's do that are learning. He is way more aggressive than quinn and not nearly as lethal at 0-15 yards. The first pick six he throws that makes the game close or even causes us to lose the lead is going to be a sight to behold.

Ok so he is struggling?
You can't find a post where I have even attempted to argue otherwise pecker head, but I have been adamant that we can win with Quinn. Arch will help us win too, he's a wild card people can't prepare for adequately. Sark knows what's he doing and the results so far speak for themselves. Quinn is qb1.

Ark- 56%
UK - 60%
A&M- 64%
I gotcha. I am choosing to look at that like we were clearly exposed by Georgia the first time with our lack of running game and sark has made it a point to pound the football. Good practice for this game we are about to play. It's also a good guess that he's protecting our struggling QB and absolutely filthy defense that carries us for long stretches anyway.

That was exactly my pt. Sark has not been balanced recently
Oh. 55-45 is pretty balanced, or you meant in the other games aside from the 5 you mentioned we aren't balanced?

With what we have seen so far this season, I trust Helm was right more than Ewers. Ewers threw it away because he saw pressure, if he pump fakes the safety, Helm has a massive gain.
It was bryce anderson who is a damn good veteran safety and he was playing deep zone. lol. You don't like quinn, got it. No need to make up silly scenarios to prove your point. Quinn is who he is, Sark is sticking with him. I wish Sark would consult with you so we could win a national championship but maybe that's part of Sark's growth. If we get lucky he will come to his senses and keep you on speed dial.

Sark has called run plays at 55% or more in 5 games this year (CSU, ULM, Ark, UK, and A&M). Margin of victory in ULM and CSU was 100 pts, so absolute blow outs. Lot of running late in the game to skew results. He has also done it the last 3 games. He is doing to protect the defense. I give him credit for that. You know he wants to chuck it deep and win with an exciting brand of football, instead he is calling plays to protect his defense.
He has had a balanced attack his entire time as an OC, dating back to USC, washington and even the bama teams that had a heisman WR. He is methodical about being balanced.

Appreciate the response. I’m curious about people’s experiences in that we could actually learn from others. Know quite a few UMHB folks too.
in the end, the timing is off for whatever anyone wants to attribute it.
Yeah I’m with you, I like the banter. I was a part of the program when we played for our first national championship game in program history so I’ve seen some top notch football, albeit Div III. We ran a straight smash mouth football offense but we had a couple play action passes that were lethal and our starting TE that year ran the play really well. Helm is going to make a good NFL TE real soon. I think had he looked back that he would have slowed down slightly and that ball would have been catchable. Quinn was just looking for the easy first down IMO.

So were you a TE or what Mr. College Football? I’m genuinely asking with a hint of smartass.
Using the UF TD as an example, I’m not sure he got his head around as quickly on that TD as the ball was released this time. I’d venture to say that ball was out quicker than you typically see.
I actually did spend time as a TE at Mary Hardin Baylor, which is light years away from how good Gunnar helm is haha. When he started his route he immediately saw Anderson deep and nobody else close…that should have caused him to at least check with Quinn earlier in his route. 3rd and 7 with 7 people on the line of scrimmage. I could be way off based but a guy as good as helm should pick up on little moments like that and use them to hurt the defense.
