  1. Any time I see a high ranked recruit in the 6’5-6’9 range described as athletic/bouncy/high-motor I assume they’ll be gone in a year. Mitchell, Liddell, Greg Brown, etc. AJ Johnson averaged under 3ppg on 37% in NZ this year At least the 5* centers can be a defensive anchor even if they go pro before they become all that efficient offensively. And a wing that can’t score ruins spacing way more than a center
  2. Wing without elite length that can’t shoot. Feels very Gerald Liddell-y
  3. I heard someone say we got shafting with scheduling vs them, but just looked it up. I think this is every sport we played them in excluding "meet" sports - golf, rowing, t&f, xc, s&d. What are the odds of this randomly occurring? VB: at coog, 2 game sweep WBB: at coog, win W Tennis: at coog, win Soccer: at coog, win Softball: at coog, series w Baseball: at coog, series w MBB: home/away L Football: at coog, w
  4. Hilarious game. They forfeit a home series to sell tickets to orange shirts. LF takes a fly ball off the dome extending the inning in the 7th and we launch 2 bombs. Win it in the 9th
  5. The 2025 picture is starting to look pretty. Pope and Garrison and we're top 15
  6. The biggest Pierce-Herman similarity is how 1-2 bad recruiting classes can have you on the street in a hurry. 2019 for Herman. 2020 and 2021 are now the classes that are plaguing Pierce. Pierce neglecting HS pitchers is akin to Herman neglecting OL/DL recruiting.
  7. Beard being an alcoholic dickhead didn’t help. Nobody wanted to stick around getting no minutes while dealing with him. And he didn’t have patience for guys worth 0 minutes either. Now RT doesn’t command the respect for guys to want to stick around and get better
  8. How many coaches in the country can manage a roster in an organized fashion? It’s a small group and most, if not all, would laugh CDC out of the building. I know that losing talented high schoolers doesn’t help change this, but we haven’t had a true high school success story since Ramey in 2018.
  9. Yawn Having $ to reallocate to the portal is a win
  10. Dre turning into a legit arm in a throwaway year is simply great comedy
  11. Walks are down this year, Ks are up. No walks tonight, 1 vs Corpus. We come into these games with a dog shit approach and the long ball isn't going save us every night
  12. 3 ABs, 3 Ks on breakers for Galvan
  13. I'd been giving him credit for the LA kids, but I suppose that pipeline predates him
  14. Max is so good. Best approach on the team
  15. Yup. I want the team to win every single game, but when it doesn't happen embarrassment is a good thing. Charlie had to lose to KU. Shaka had to lose to ACU
  16. Oh get fucked. Gutsy 3-1 pitch and painted 3-2
  17. Celebrating xbh and energizing the dugout is objectively good. The idea that this is some new thing that has the potential to start fights is udderly regarded
  18. Jeez that's unlucky. Has Powell made contact that well in weeks?
  19. The fact that Galvan is hitting over .300 is a horrendous indictment of opposing coaching. Throw 3 breakers and he walks back to the dugout
  20. Making 14 ERA Cam O'Bannon look like an ace
  21. I used to think LBJ could just fill the zone with 96 and be effective, but it always feels like guys are pretty easily turning it around
  22. He's streaky, but this is especially bad. 2 xbh since the Tech series (12 in the first 15 games), BA has fallen 150 points. Had a few extended slumps last year too, especially in the postseason.
  23. Coming to terms with losing Flores this summer
