Dre turning into a legit arm in a throwaway year is simply great comedy

About to score fewer than 3 runs again against midweek arms. Only consistency is the inconsistency.
Walks are down this year, Ks are up. No walks tonight, 1 vs Corpus. We come into these games with a dog shit approach and the long ball isn't going save us every night

3 ABs, 3 Ks on breakers for Galvan

Nothing. Both on and off the field.
I'd been giving him credit for the LA kids, but I suppose that pipeline predates him

Max is so good. Best approach on the team

Yup. I want the team to win every single game, but when it doesn't happen embarrassment is a good thing. Charlie had to lose to KU. Shaka had to lose to ACU

Oh get fucked. Gutsy 3-1 pitch and painted 3-2

Yep, it's Shit. Outlaw it.
They do it so that if they make the regionals/super-regionals/CWS they can do it for the ESPN/Sportscenter hoopla and claim they were doing all season (so they only do it for months so they can do it in the playoffs).
It's CRINGE, and I remember in '86 when Astros reliever Charlie Kerfeld, after making batters hit weak grounders to the mound, would field the grounders and used to point at the batters and talk shit before tossing the ball to first.
But since the weak NCAA won't even get rid of the fucking multiple Vandy whistlers, I don't expect this cringe second-base shit to end.
Maybe it'll end when there's a half-dozen bench-clearing brawls in a short time as a result of it-- won't that be something to see! Lulz.
Celebrating xbh and energizing the dugout is objectively good. The idea that this is some new thing that has the potential to start fights is udderly regarded

Jeez that's unlucky. Has Powell made contact that well in weeks?
-
The fact that Galvan is hitting over .300 is a horrendous indictment of opposing coaching. Throw 3 breakers and he walks back to the dugout

Making 14 ERA Cam O'Bannon look like an ace

I used to think LBJ could just fill the zone with 96 and be effective, but it always feels like guys are pretty easily turning it around

I’m about ready to lead the search party for Peyton Powell.
He's streaky, but this is especially bad. 2 xbh since the Tech series (12 in the first 15 games), BA has fallen 150 points. Had a few extended slumps last year too, especially in the postseason.

Coming to terms with losing Flores this summer

I thought it was lame to pull him after 2 batters but at the same time that's part of baseball. Sounds like he has an attitude problem and needs a change of scenery.
We were his change of scenery...

Wut? This is the first time in a long time that we haven’t had a legit Friday night guy.
LBJ still can be that guy, he’s shown he can for one night, but I do think he’s done as a real lockdown starter.
LBJ is done. He’s had 1 impressive start all year and it was vs Cal Poly in February

Every time we give up more than like 5 runs we score less than 5. Have we played in a high scoring back and forth 10-8 type game since that finale against Tech?
It’s more that we can’t hit Friday guys (not new for Pierce teams) and our Friday guy sucks for the first time in the Pierce era.
That’s 4 Friday Ls in a row and 5 of the last 6. Not a single quality start from LBJ in any of those 6 Fridays.
For all the warts the roster has, any 1 of Cooper, Kingham, Madden, Hansen, or Gordon would have this team within shouting distance of hosting.

Ace deserves the ball in game 1 of a regional at this point

Surprised JT isn't in CF with this lineup. Maybe Pierce is giving up on that one. Draft boards seem to be respecting his positional flexibility with or without game reps this year

Probably need to sweep this series to hold serve / maintain a a good pole position to win the Big12 reg season.
BYU is in Baylor RPI territory. Wins basically do nothing to help our metrics. Any loss will cost us close to 10 spots.
The other top 6 teams in conference play each other this weekend: OU-OSU KSU-UCF KU-WV. Should be good for breaking up the log jam a bit.

Probably an ill-advised send. An average throw from PB gets him
