Oh, hell yeah. Now just reel in Austin Goosby and Cam Williams and I will be one gruntled Longhorn.

I love the Beach Boys. They were unqualified greatness.
Mike Love is an insufferable prick for non-CR reasons, and is extremely distasteful to many people for CR reasons.
This.

Agree with Oscar, but my vote goes to Wilt. Other overlooked offensive juggernauts are David Thompson, Kareem and George Gervin.

I have given this some thought and whew, boy, you have posed a difficult question. All I can come up with for matching academic and athletic futility is Rhode Island. But it's in a suburb of Providence so that's already better than Starkville. Fresno St?

Unless one of them blows up the second half of the season, Sark needs to go all in on a senior RB transfer in the offseason.
As out of left field (or absurd or insane, choose your preferred adjective) as this is, I wish Nick Townsend had been cross-training in the backfield. He did everything for Dekaney, including RB and Wildcat. He's big, monstrously strong and very fast for his size. We've already seen how physical he is blocking. Doubtless it is too late for this, but it might have provided dividends.

That DBs last name is really Outhouse? He must take tons of shit.

Aggy about to land the #1 CB in the nation for this class from Texas. John Meredith, Fawcett hinting at it.
Going back to the 2022 playbook?

In a big mea culpa… I laughed repeatedly at Ian Boyd saying in the offseason that Kanu would be a starter for us. Just based on who we brought in, I didn’t see that happening at all. He’s our best DT right now, IMO.
Did Shaw play against OU? I don’t remember seeing him.Shaw and Brevard get more snaps against running teams. We have better pass rushing DTs.

Yeah Filmguy complimented Hutson and Brooks for "hunting blocks" downfield...
Yeah, I noticed Hutson whiffing a few times "downfield," missing blocks to unlock edge plays. Is he really such an OL Svengali, guiding our line, that we can't risk playing someone more aggressive? Genuine question, because to my eye he's a liability.

Awwwww... so cute and all.
One thing, though: lose the "Rivalry" bullshit. Errbody and they brother got a rivalry. We're Texas.
Make it Red River Shootout, or better, how about Shootout at the State Fair
Or just call it The OU Game. My first was in 1967 (I was 7 and yeah I'm old) and I never heard it called different until the 90s.

8-10 in conference + likely 9-2 non conference
That is assuming a loss to Duke (duh) and UConn and wins over ASU and Virginia and the other 7 traffic cone opponentsI'm slightly more optimistic. Pre-conference play I am right there with you, but our roster is better than last year, the coaching staff is light years better, and our aforementioned pre-con is crap and allows the new teammates time to meld. I think we can break even in the SEC, maybe a smidge better. I think we reach 20 wins before post season play.

The only thing he got wrong in his rant was saying "I hope we pull the upset next week." Even with how horrible we played Texas enters the Red River as a -3.5 point favorite with a 61% chance to win 😅😅
Like how?!
Cuz Hawkins?

can we talk about just how bad Gus Johnson has gotten? It has reached the point that Beth Mowins' voice is less annoying than his screaming at every 1 yard carry.
It really is weird, I can remember a time when he was excellent. Did he suffer a head injury or something?

Tech does have a lot more research programs and spend than those schools, right? I feel like I hear about it a lot with ag stuff specifically.
I think it's those pesky research doctorates holding Tech back. SMU and Baylor have been pouring $$$ into doctorate programs and research projects. TCU awards fewer doctorates than the aforementioned colleges but their entry level salaries roughly double the other Texas schools. Tech awards a lot of doctorates but their entry level salaries are lower than almost any other Texas college.

I'm doubting that this was ever a recruitment. I'm guessing pops wanted him to hear Barnes' sales pitch and he took a flyer on Purdue.
Hope this kid kills it but neither of my brothers think he's actually a top 50 guy. A lot of opinion that Disu's brother (Holy Cross commit) was St. Michael's best player when they shared the floor together.
Now - that may mean that he's more like a top 100 guy. Which is still a big get.
Apparently the big programs disagreed with your brothers. I mean, Holy Cross, is he studying for the priesthood?

He has. Add him to the list of guys who just can’t match everything Stroh gives us. Hell throw a Coleman brother and Jackson Christian in there and that’s about seven guys. All hoping to one day be as good as Stroh. Thanks, I haven't experienced the singular pleasure of throwing up in my mouth in many a year.

That ship has passed. Schools now want a head coach who is fully vested into all things NIL and portal. Gundy either couldn't or wouldn't get involved in such matters, plus his relations with boosters and fans over the past few years was just horrendous.
Coaches are always auditioning for their next gig. Gundy's age + flunking his audition has doomed him. He should have taken the Tennessee gig 10 years ago or so.
I figure he will end up on

All it would take is one walton grandkid to care about football. The family gives alot to the university, just so far they dont care about football. However the Kroenke side of the family own the Rams, avalanche and nuggets. So maybe that side of the family could/would but as stated above they can't NIL and own an NFL team.
Oh and another side owns the broncos, i forgot lol They rich.
And Arsenal.

So who's paying you to show up regularly and debase yourself on surly with horrible takes?
Simmons and Lea are both Vanderbilt alums, and have gotten some pretty decent investment in facilities. I'm not saying Lea won't leave for another job, but both have been pretty vocal about making Vanderbilt a regular football power. And they've been pretty successful so far in taking steps to that direction. I'm not sure Lea will leave for another program at this point, and certainly Simmons isn't going to follow him just because...Simmons is already extremely wealthy. I think these guys want their school to win at football.
A similar situation currently exists at GaTech. I'm pulling for them, except when or if we play them.

I haven't been this excited for Longhorn hoops since neither Rodney Terry nor Shaka Smart was head coach here.
