Damn! Maybe we really did spend 40mil on this years roster and don’t have anything left

Lott is elite, and I definitely wanted him on our team next year. I'm not going to pretend differently. Oh well.
Same!!
I get what everyone’s saying, but let’s be honest — this isn’t the NFL. The roster will probably look completely different in two or three years anyway. That’s why I’d rather see us build around players who come up through our program, learn our culture, and develop under our coaching staff.
Instead of throwing crazy money at portal guys we might not even get — or who might not even hit the portal — I’d rather we use the transfer portal to cherry-pick, not build from scratch.
The foundation should come from high school recruiting. That’s where you develop a real identity and roster continuity. The portal should be about adding what you need, not creating who you are.

I'm a little what? Gay? A sponge? Because a sponge is often a euphemism for smart, which is at least the opposite what I'd think you'd want to imply. Either way, your post is rock fucking stupid.
I feel like you're so fucking dumb that you were designed in a lab to test the capacity for human stupidity, and you were given a diet of only paint chips and glue.
And imagine calling someone Gay in 2025 and thinking you're making a sick burn. -

When we win the National Championship this year I hope Collin Simmons or Ant look in the camera and say
“The best in Texas STAYS in TEXAS. HOOK’EM!”

Maybe give them credit when they do something on the field. They've recruited at a high level very recently and have had absolutely nothing to show for it.
I said that.
They’re at least giving themselves a chance so , -
Lol I mean, we could sit here and throw dirt on them, but hey—they’re making it happen. Will it be another Jimbo situation? Who knows. But they’re definitely recruiting at a high level, even with their mediocre past records, and they’re heading in the right direction. Honestly, that mediocre roster probably freed up more money. Gotta give credit where it’s due.

Wide Receiver
Ryan Niblett was mentioned very early in a recent conversation after a good week that included a big play touchdown from the slot receiver position. Niblett’s role is to be a matchup hunter who motions in and out of the backfield. This play saw him motion out and catch a corner route for six. So far, this role appears to be more than lip service as we’ve heard Niblett’s name pretty frequently this offseason.
Young Cornerbacks
Fade to Black. When IT asked about coverage preferences for this season, we heard they’ll likely run more Cover 3 than last year. Part of the reason, “they have good cornerbacks in Malik Muhammad and Kobe Black and this will help bolster run defense.” That’s how it was put, with the source mentioning Black before Guilbeau. That’s going to be a good competition in August. It sounds like it’s already a good competition.
WR
I’m so happy Niblett decided to stay. I know a lot of people thought he might leave, but man—he can be a game-changer with that speed. Once he gets it between the ears and locks into just one position, I can easily see Sark using him like Jameson Williams or DeVonta Smith. He’s got that kind of potential to play himself into a draft pick. I saw him in high school—dude can go.
Corner
I love the battle between Black and Gilbeaux! I’m hoping Black locks down that opposite corner spot, and then Gilbeaux either splits reps with McDonald—which I think would be a good thing—or moves inside. At times, Gilbeaux was doing too much, so cutting his reps could raise his level of play. Either way, keeping him at corner makes sense too, especially since Littleton is too good to keep off the field—and I’m all for that.

My only beef is, teams like A&M ar going to turn this like “Texas didn’t have you as prized as we did” and that could hurt us with the flips down the line and either make us pay more or may not happen.
Lee may be easier because we a actually really wanted him and told him he was high on our board

I like Gerry, but he also said Cam Williams would be a 1st rounder. Turntine definitely has the athleticism, but there's nothing simple about adding 30lbs while still maintaining his explosiveness. I'm glad we got him though. We'll see how he develops.
To Gerry’s defense Willliams very well could’ve been a first rounder (probably high) if he stayed and started at least two years

Anderson wasn’t what I would say good/great though, he made it work and made himself money in the NFL. I hope we’re pass the stages of having to settle and start players of that level

I’m sure Ojo was probably the reason we didn’t get a few linemen so let’s get Lee or Roseborough and call it a day.

And expecting to land them all out of high school is sane? Do you feel like you’re the most sane person you’ve ever talked to? Just curious. He’s just saying that if we have to win an auction, win it when they can contribute.
Trying to shame someone for their opinion doesn’t make you sound any smarter
the best teams are constructed through high school recruiting that portal shit may work for a season, just ask Florida State or Ole Miss. -

Bruh neither of these guys going to contribute for the next 2 years. Just buy them back in the portal when they're physically ready to play
thinking we’re going to get all these guys in the portal like they’re at a juco is crazy

Sooo let me get this straight—
We missed out on guys like Lee, Krempin, Roseborough, etc., because Ojo and Turntine were the ones we keyed on. . . .and now y’all are already trashing Ojo because he’s doing what literally every other recruit is doing and trending away from Texas the day before his commitment?? 😂
What, y’all gonna turn on Turntine too if he flips?
Y’all are hilarious. Just admit we’re losing momentum with legit prospects and hope we can circle back later. SMH.

Tell that to A&M, UGA and Bama. Seems like they have that and some more.
