My distance vision remains very good.  But I can't read shit from shinola up close.  I have readers stashed all over the place.

Thanks Lat.  Sounds like a lot of 50 somethings around here.

    Same for me.  Also 53

  2. WEST

Washington, Oregon, Cal, UCLA, USC, Arizona, ASU

    EAST

Texas, TT, OU, OSU, Colorado, Kansas, Utah

14 teams and you lock up all the major TV markets west of the Mississippi and cover 3 time zones.  SC gives you the 1 private school that every conference needs.

As a newly transplanted texan in Colorado, please don’t do this. I dont want to listen to sound clips from Bielema ad nauseum on sports radio.

They only talk about the fucking broncos 24/7 up there

That seems like a horrible fit.  He'd immediately be the fattest person in the whole state.  He'd get winded walking to his car.

What's the altitude at Boulder? That thin air might literally kill him.

CU should hire him and buy a huge life policy and solve the money issues going forward.

    Worse.

Lots of Texas high school kids on your roster from when your team was great.

Some people on this board know some of them. We know what happened on the recruiting trips.

It's not what you know, It's what you can prove.  We have never been popped like aggy and OU with TV bans etc.

Now that I'm retired, my doc has seen fit to ween me off my meds (which allowed me to function for decades as a thinking, feeling human being dealing with work-related stress).  So, last night was a bad night and I am not close to being on top of my game.  However, I >am< in the game and share this link detailing CU's violations from 1959 - 1961 which led to the firing of CU head coach, Sonny Grandelius.  News accounts at the time claimed that Grandelius was the first coach in the country fired for recruiting improprieties.

Before I was born but I do remember reading about that years ago.  All of the other violations were pretty much small time and I doubt the ncaa would have popped OU, Nebraska or ohio state for the same thing.  Hell, it took guns, drugs and swords for the ncaa to go after switzer.

yeah, I think it was more about establishing a proto-Baylor kind of culture where you guys brought in antisocial reprobates and then did everything possible to keep them academically eligible and out of jail

there was the famous and prescient quote from one of your players in 1984 that "we got enough choirboys, we need some football players". at least that's how I think he described it, maybe he used something even more euphemistic

Need some thugs to win.  Never had the rape culture of baylor and, Mac would suspend guys if they got in trouble.

It will be funny if both our daughters end up at Trinity.  Mine got a pretty big $ award, which brings the cost down from "holy fuck" to "minor 2nd mortgage".

She may try CAP at UTSA as well, which is non-binding.  Still waiting on total scholarship from UMinn and UOregon.  Boulder wasn't worth it, their final net cost was well above what we've already seen from the Pac-12 and Big-10 schools.  Apparently Boulder is not fond of being cost-competitive.  (That's an actual perspective I've heard from a half dozen UC parents.)

We are also trying to leverage UT Butler School of Music as an end-around.  Sort of the "athlete" approach (except she's not an athlete).  It may work.

CU needs the out of state money as the state does not pay shit
