  1. Where are y'all at with this team? On one hand this doesn't look like the same old Texas. There's clear progress and we are so young across the board. If this team sticks together it's not hard too imagine them really breaking through at some point. Especially if we can have a handful of early impact guys from this class. Also, hats off to PK, that was probably the best Texas defensive performance in at least 10 years. 14 TFL's, 5 sacks, and a TD in a losing effort is almost unbelievable. Development is there, Ford, Cook, Sorrell, Coburn, Sweat are prime examples. We haven't seen player progression like this around here in a long time.

....Though on the other hand, Sark is starting to look like burnt orange Scott Frost. You have to try really hard to lose 80% of your one score games. You cannot lay an egg like that in a game of that magnitude. 8-4 is a good season all things considered but these losses have been brutal.

That shows you the value of a RB. I think Baxter is a stud. I do not want to lose him, but I would trade him for a 5 star defense player in heart beat.

Brooks and Blue are a nice floor as well, so it’s not like we are totally screwed if he decides to look elsewhere. RB is one of the least of my concerns because barring sheer bad luck our OL should be pretty damn good these next few years.

That’s former Longhorn WR Darius Terrell, he was a better football player than he is a 9.95er and his career included 1 catch for 3 yards. He’s probably the worst/least informed person associated with Texas 9.95 sites.

Yes, he also is extremely biased due to his having a coaching position at Waxahachie. He got into a Twitter spat with Johntay Cook following their loss to DeSoto last month.

  4. Our defense isn’t nearly as bad as some of us are making them out to be. Perhaps it can be attributed to lack of trust and PTSD for what we endured last season. Yes, our secondary can get abused a little here and there but our D is good enough for us to win (especially against the run) and they are more of an asset rather than a detriment to this team. I’d bet the majority of P5 schools would trade their defense for ours. All of this being said without having a single bonafide pass rusher and only one above average cover guy I’d say we are actually playing above expectations to this point.

I think the line on this game is what it is because of the way we were able to run the ball against a really good Iowa State D. They weren’t gimmick runs or Bijan having to make three guys miss behind the LOS, they were downhill you know we are going to run but you can’t stop us kind of runs. If we can run at will like that rate moving forward, then this offense will be as difficult to stop as just about any in CFB. This offense, and team in general is just barely scratching the surface. Sark has just got to find a way to avoid a letdown

  5. This Texas team has proven to be really hard to beat at home. Also, Sark has seen this Heacock defense before and ours is actually going to be playing with something they haven’t had in years—confidence. Barring totally uncharacteristic play from Quinn or our secondary, we win this game convincingly and show Arch a good time afterwards. The fate of the rest of this season will be decided next week in Stillwater. Go up there and win that game, and heads will turn.
