I make 50-60 dozen. Only pork. Hombro. Traditional. 5 different chiles in the meat. Masa only bought on the side door from the factory. Cash only.
Give most away. Keep 8-10 to snack on for two weeks.
The amount of Manteca needed to mix is impressive. Cholesterol checks are mandatory. -
Just young folk calling things what they experienced instead of the OG way.
I still call em all the following, even if people have changed them. Off the top of my head:
Decker Lake, City Park, Town Lake, Paleface Park, Ben’s Long Branch, Fiesta Gardens, Chicano Park, Lanier HS, Johnston HS, Reagan HS, La Loma, Hungry Hill, South Congress, 26th St., Cocktails.
No need to correct. Just accept that some folk are multigenerational Tejanos/Austinites… and call things different.
We also have been making and eating tacos and BBQ before Waterloo existed.
It wasn’t a trend… it’s a way of life.TLDR: Don’t Tilt my Gold Mine.

If @South Austin’s mom was an arcade, would she be Le Fun?
BTW, is she the original smash and grab?

In the early 80s, and maybe even when you worked there, you could get a blowjob for $5. You just go to the J.C. Penney’s and head to the sporting goods department. There was a high school kid there and you would tel him you wanted to buy some socks, and then he’d blow you in one of the dressing rooms.
The kid loved UT football and if you told him you were a football player he’d blow you for free. Poor kid, I know of at least 4 people that told him they were Todd Dodge. He probably didn’t have a UT media guide or a Dave Campbell’s guide laying around, so he couldn’t have known what Dodge looked like without a helmet.
I didn’t know there was a JC Penney’s at Pease Park.

Coach Samples was like I done already told you. Do I need to say it again?
Block better.
If he would have pimp slapped that reporter, I would have had no problem with that.- 1

On the cool, this ref is everything. That’s somebody’s cool ass uncle from the cookout.

Can we haz either of these two DCs on the 40 acres?
Some good ass defensive coaching going on at both of these schools.
Defensive clinics going on. -
Very impressive these two teams are. Fundamentally sound. This is what Texas HS football should look like.

DVille using the pass to open up the run.
That was a big boy drive. Well done.- 1

Sarah Merrifield can get it.
Timonera!

Watch Duncanville’s D. It’s nasty af.
99, 90, 8 and 23 would take my lunch money… If I had any back in school. I would just have to give them my lunch card like a muhhhh.

Damn that was a great piece about the Duncanville head coach
Samples is a good dude and a helluva coach. He’s earned it. Let’s get this for Coach.

88 dallas carter v 85 houston yates would be the game of games and finally decide the best Texas HS football team of all time
Agreed. Yates would have won either way. Because forfeit.

Big ups to SOC. Great season.
-
Damn. That’s a badass throw. Wow.
Ball game blouses. SOC is too mucho and both their OL and DL Is too bookoo for LH.
-
SOC is playing with some serious juice. Confident and hyped up.
-
SOC not going to be denied this year! Wow! Nice drive
-
Wow. Big nuts to go for it. Nice run
-
I predicted SOC earlier on this thread 31-21. Sticking to that. Yeah, that LH formation is hell to prepare for, but there’s something about this Bear team.
And that DVille D is the best I’ve seen for a while. I think they stop that freshman QB.
Samples gets it finally.- 1

There’s 4 high schools out the 9 south of I-10. And yes there are African Americans south of I-10.
Fort Bend is very multicultural. The high schools south of I-10 tend to be very international.
Energy corridor and what not. -
I got SOC winning today. The drought for DISD ends today.

We need a dedicated geopolitics section as threads like this are healthy discussion and insight. Of course with a good mix of surly spice notes, as this thread has.
Always plenty of geopolitical things happening: China and Uyghurs, KSA and Houthi, Lebanon with their perpetual financial and government crises, current situation in Tunisia, what’s happening in Sudan… just to name a few.
I would down for that and would be intrigued on different surly lenses, expertises and experiences.
