Didn't read all the way through this thread but the scene between Mav and Ice was fucking nails.  Dead solid perfect.

The fact that is reflected real life made it all the more touching and cool.

Sirius and Danny chose this life. The grim realities of media life were there when they got into it. I worked in radio and newspapers in high school and college, and loved everything about it; it’s addicting. I also was heavily in the music business at the time, another financial disaster to be part of.

Except it’s hard to make a living at it. Always has been. It’s why I decided to do something else. The old fuckers I worked with were living in shitty parts of town, were are multi divorced, and were day drinkers. They made jack shit. The sales guys were driving Cadillacs, but being a newspaperman looked like a grim future.

There’s no need or precedent of T1 talent giving up money to share with those below. They paid their dues. That doesn’t happen in other jobs. Movie stars make big money, ingenues and crew nothing. Dak makes $40m. Others get cut. Same in your job.

It’s show BUSINESS. Better have a side gig. The Ticket is never going to be what it was. My grandfather believed Harold Taft was the only weatherman that could be trusted. It all ends eventually if the business model isn’t sustainable.

I had the exact same experience. Mrs. and I both in media after school: me print, her on TV. I think I made maybe $20K and she might have made $18K. I looked around the newsroom and realized everyone was a smoker-alcoholic with at least a couple divorces. Saw the same grim future as you and pulled the ripcord.

I used to be a P1 and listened to the devil suit and Lambeau arrest live, but checked out a few years ago. Corby is insufferable, and the Musers have become so confidently stupid could take it anymore. Had no idea Sirois or Danny left.

I get that people like Todd, but his phony sincerity always rubbed me the wrong way ... but it is a talent to do the Sirois interview and pretend he's not the problem while feigning empathy. Just like some pro athletes do, all of those guys could walk in and agree to a 10-20% pay cut (and still be millionaires) and help out the others, but they never will put their money where their fake empathy is.

  3. Not easy to do a sequel to an iconic movie. Not sure it could have been better. Even fixed the spelling error in the opening. The Penny callback was truly inspired. A love letter written with attention to detail without cheesiness or absurdity.

We've gone through the entire Buc-cee's lifecycle over the last 10 years. The Mrs. raved about the original one for years after taking kids to Houston. We have moved from the "must stop" and dropping $50 every trip to avoiding at all costs for all the reasons noted ... I no longer have patience to navigate the hundreds of people wandering aimlessly and not paying attention to anything or anyone. Still an impressive operations - clean, efficient ... shocking an aggy runs it.

Still angry at Dr. Pepper for fucking with them.

But their offerings I find in Central Market are pretty damned solid, even if they aren't the name brands.

Yeah but you think it's Dr. Pepper so there's that.

With the reported 36,000 food processing plants in the US, I would think that the loss of 18 could be absorbed.

Depends. You knock out 18 Dr Pepper plants, and we could have a serious national emergency.

  7. I don't know if this is "normal," but there does seem to be a lot of these occurring. I can't say I've ever pondered how many food production facilities are destroyed each year; but it seems like there have been 18 recently in the U.S. and some around the globe from India to Europe.

I can't figure out the purpose of adding Munson to the cast. It would seem that they could have had one of the gang get falsely accused of murder and go on the run. I assume that he serves some purpose (like dying) that they don't want to waste on the long term cast.

I think they're just trying to force in so-called "Satanic Panic," so they need the prerequisite metalhead ... a bunch of nerds don't really do it.

One of the orderlies should have reminded him Matlock re-runs were delayed and Black people can vote or school integration is a thing ...  - that would have gotten you ANGRY JOE.

A large mansion listed in El Paso, Texas, for $2.5 million has been raising a few eyebrows on a popular social media real estate page — and it mainly has to do with how the interior is decorated.
