Is this cultural appropriation worthy of outrage? Or is this an inspirational tale of a person overcoming outdated societal norms to become the person they were always supposed to be. I'll be honest.... my "woke meter" needs some serious calibration.

I have not followed the story closely but not clear how this will shake out. Is he a brave [noun] living [pronoun] truth or an evil cultural appropriator. This literally is writing new woke case law.

I don't disagree.  Its all hands on deck at this point.  The only person who seems to have rage about "dudes starting on short rest" is you.  You do what you have to do.  Just like Texas starting Stevens on Saturday on 3 days rest.  Must win game, so you do what you have to do.  They have as much time to rest as they want in a few days.

This. You don't have a guy on short rest throw 100 pitches but try and get an inning or two. All hands on deck.

Yes he does become a PI. I didn't realize a spinoff was in the works, but he seems to interact with his half? brother Mickey Haller (the Lincoln Lawyer) more frequently in recent books, maybe that will happen?

Haller would be a fun show. I saw the Lincoln Lawyer and liked it ... I like the Haller books better than the Ballard books ... which I feel like she showed up on one of the seasons but I forget which one.

I enjoyed it. There’s definitely a Bosch formula. They could churn out 3 seasons a year and it’d probably be just fine. Kinda glad they’re gonna mix it up with the spin off. It’ll be interesting to see how Bosch acts when not constrained by rules.

Seriously. Connelly released a book a year on auto-pilot.

I made the mistake of reading wikipedia to find out about this broad. So many reason I wish I had not.

Need to add Elizabeth Warren to the list.

  7. I feel like this will not end well for anyone: https://nypost.com/2021/06/28/oli-london-identifies-as-korean-after-surgeries-to-look-like-bts-jimin/

A British-born white influencer has had 18 plastic surgery procedures to look like a member of K-pop band BTS — and now “identifies as Korean.”

Oli London — who uses they and them pronouns — on Monday shared a series of videos from a hospital bed to show off the latest round of work in their bid to look like Park Jimin.

“Hey guys! I’m finally Korean. I’ve transitioned,” London said in one video, saying they were “transracial” and now “identify as Jimin.”

“I identify as Korean — that’s just my culture, that’s my home country, that’s exactly how I look now,” the newly named Jimin said.

“I’m so, so happy I’ve completed my look … I have the eyes [and] I’ve just had a brow lift, as well,” said the influencer, who earlier tweeted about getting work on their lips to “look like JIMIN.”

Austin FC was the last new pro sports franchise Texas is ever getting. Deal with it. The big 4 leagues are never expanding again and SA/Austin aren’t on any radars for relocation.

I think this is probably spot on when it comes to the Big Four. TV is such a big piece of it, and I think the owners would rather move to a new market like Nashville or Charlotte vs. cannibalizing existing Astros or Rangers fans. I am not saying that is right, but I suspect that is how they will think about it. It may not be fair, but I am guessing that is how they will think about it. Generally speaking, I am surprised baseball would consider expanding at all. Relocation of the A's and Rays makes sense but I am not sure expansion does IMHO.

Plenty of people have opted into “yeah, I still want to be at risk.” I know of multiple teams and workplaces that have had to deal with Covid outbreaks in the last coupla weeks. It’s really shitty.

I will forever have the Chefs as the 2021 Super Bowl Champions ...
