I feel like I'm walking into a minefield, but who the fuck is Conan? Going to go ahead and assume not the Barbarian or Destroyer ...

I am going to assume you are not Team Coco...

I spent way too much on Chanel makeup and clothes ... does that get me on the team?

  2. Loved this show. I generally am terrible at remembering shows, so I do get people confused across Longmire, Banshee, and Yellowstone.

the conference alignments weren't perfect in 2010 but they were certainly better

Agreed w/whoever said a round-robin within a numerically logical conference size, applied across multiple conferences, makes the most sense. I said that in (sigh) the realignment thread too.

The fun of college football is the history and regional rivalries. I'm sure Big 10 fans get really worked up playing Maryland just as the bubba's spend all year thinking about beating Misery. Kansas-Missouri literally the bloodiest rivalry in the country.

This is the issue in a nutshell.  What any of us does to fight this thing depends entirely on where we put our trust in the myriad sources of (mis)information.  Even for the level-headed well-informed unselfish follow the science types, getting to the cat fax of the matter is way more challenging than it should be.  It is way too easy for any mouthpiece to come across as authoritative and credible, and when you combine this with how quickly the guidance can change, it's an extremely frustrating situation.

I'm not trying to call into question any of the information quoted above.  I honestly don't know which is correct, but I should, and that's the problem.

Great post. Daily I'm amazed the impact social media has on one's POV around SARS-CoV-2. I get that inherently science should never be settled and always changing, the response to this disease always has felt like drunken sailor trying to re-record a Tupac album.

They are keeping a significant number of police set up around the downtown area. Guess they have given up on the south side. We were there right before Memorial Day and they had cop cars pretty much on every block along Michigan, State, etc. with cops also walking the blocks. There were 4-5 cars stationed outside of Trump towers the entire time.

Family Spring Break to Chicago. We had a great time but the massive police presence along Michigan Avenue felt both discomforting and comforting at the same time. Such a great city ... for good and bad, misses the Daley's.

the problem there is that you would have to force some conferences to kick some teams out, and others to take teams in

there's no mechanism to do that-- I don't see how you can force the Big Ten to abandon Maryland and Rutgers, or force any schools into the Big 12 if they don't want to be there, or force the Big 12 to take new members it doesn't want

Very true, but I would just re-jigger back to pre-2010 ... except aggy. Keep aggy independent.

are they really playing Colorado in fucking Denver (meaning the Broncos stadium)? is it not at Folsom in Boulder?

I was thinking the exact same thing ... aggy is Denver worthy?

  8. I would just return to six, 12-team leagues. Each has two divisions with a championship game as the effective first round of the playoffs. Then you have six conference champions and two wild cards for the playoffs. Play the first round at the higher seeds home stadium and roll into the status quo.
