  3. Wouldn't count on it. Weather should be pretty nice as long as rain chances don't increase.

Supposed to be 80 degrees. Just didn’t know if it was predetermined .

  4. I've looked but haven't seen anything, but are the Shriner Classic games televised?  ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU?

And is the roof being open a tbd thing? Hoping to catch the ucla game Sunday and would be great if roof was open. Weather permitting of course.

  5. From stuffed this week:
    Crawfish Information
The weather is moving in the right direction but the catch has not starting coming up.  We hope that changes in the next couple of days but we do not know for certain.
Here's the deal...  The live crawfish will be expensive.  $4.99/lb
They are still immature and a lot of them are soft.  You have a good chance of seeing 10% plus dead loss on average in a sack.  Some sacks have been better than others.  We are taking orders but are certain that we will have to stop soon as we only anticipate getting about 20% of what we would normally order.  Of course this number may change but we have to stay conservative.  I absolutey hate calling people and telling them we do not have their crawfish.  It keeps me up at night and I desparately need my beauty sleep...
If you do one boil a year, wait.  We'll have a good season, it just hasn't started yet.  If you do several small boils a year, then you probably know what you're getting into.
The online ordering portal is open for now.

Thanks. Went to grab some at a restaurant in woodlands today . Small and chewy. Jumped the gun big time .

  6. Yeah, NET rankings are confusing as hell. UH simply does not have the resume to be ranked as highly as they are. They still don't have a single Q1 win.

Most overrated team in ncaa .

  7. I received an email from the NCAA - "Season Tickets" for Omaha go on sale March 22nd.

Tickets are not a problem . Just go. Went last year for first time . Heading back this year. Glorious . Don’t overthink it. Hook ‘em.

  8. I had to turn him off when he proclaimed the PAC had 6 tourney locks. I synced up the Josh Lewin radio broadcast from the UCLA website and I am much happier (loved Josh when he did Texas Rangers games).
Also, had no idea Jacob Young plays for Oregon now.

More overrated team ? UH or UCLA. Go…

  9. Ok dad.

but in all seriousness I might be closer to retirement sticking to that plan. But dat dopamine rush doh.

Yep. I totally get it. Did my dopamine rushes in my 20’s and 30’s. Spent most of my money on women and wine. And the rest just pissed away. Then Quit dicking around in my 40s thinking I was smarter than the market . Retired at 55.

  10. One hell of a rollercoaster
DOW went from down nearly 900 to up 90
NASDAQ down 300 to up 435
    S&P down 90 to up 65
Oil was up to $100 at one point and closed just $1 higher at $93.
Gold went from $1910 to $1973 to $1904

It’s almost like you shouldn’t try to trade markets and just stick with long term asset allocation plan.

  11. Not gonna be able to make it to Austin for the Bama series but I will be in Houston for the Shriners Classic the following weekend.
I highly recommend that weekend for anyone on the fence. It's a great event and fun to booze it up in downtown or EaDo and walk to Minute Maid.
Saturday night is gonna be electric vs LSU. Interested to see what the attendance figure is for that one.

Are those games televised ? Don’t get lhn.

  12. Last night I made the trip to the Globe to watch SHSU square off against AP #4 OSU. After traffic and stopping in at Texas live I got in on the last play of the T3 with the score knotted 0-0 and the following were my untrained opinions on the SHSU team that has now beat Nebraska 3 of 4 and taken out a top 4 team in OSU.
    • Sam was able to work their way on base in 9 of the 10 innings and seemed to work longer into counts
    • Both teams got out of jams consistently and forced weak groundballs to get outs
    • Sam belonged on the same field and we felt they could have broken it open at anytime
    • Sam let their guys get out of their own mess while OSU had an revolving door on the pen (pitchers used OSU 9- Sam-5)
Obviously take this Tuesday night game with a grain of salt but with both teams coming out hot and winning series vs favored opponents this was a good showing for a mid major team vs a solid B12 squad. If Texas can work the SHSU pitchers and pound the zone then we should wrap up a win by the 5th or 6th inning. Either way should be a solid midweek matchup as Peirce returns to the program he built into one of the better mid majors in the country.
If all goes to plan I will be in attendance and I would recommend the trip to anybody free that night as it is one of the best small school stadiums and will be heavily attended as SHSU is hosting their annual crawfish boil for students.

Assume can get tickets walking up? Thinking of making it up there from the woodlands

  13. The good beef is cheaper than the less good beef. It takes longer and better feeding to grade out choice vs. select, so if select is worth more lighter weight cattle go to town sooner. If choice is soft you aren't moving the better cuts of beef for good restaurants and grilling like you should. Right now reported whole sale prices are the cheapest they've been since fall 2020 for the most part.
