Yeah I’m not talking about the practicality of the overall concept which, as I understand it, is to use idling EVs to provide computational capacity for AI. I'm asking specifically about the terminology he used. “Kilowatts” does not seem like an appropriate unit for computational capacity. Seems like that should be expressed in flops. But I’m not a computer engineer.

Yeah, in terms of DC resources it would make sense but that's not what he is inferring in his statement. But this is a very common theme with Elon. He often says things that sound like he doesn't really understand the topic and is just repeating what he heard someone else say.  Which makes sense because he is a bullshit artist.

What really bugs me about this is not that he bullshits so much but the media always treats his commentary as something worthy of reporting.

If someone like that quack Stang talks about his theory of everything people rightfully laugh and mock him. When Elon does it people take him seriously.

It shows the audience that he in fact does leave Japan and Toranaga's velvet cage.

Nope, that was just a dream. He is never going to leave Japan.

that was the point. it's supposed to be a reveal, a heel turn for toranaga.  he's a narcissist who sacrificed his son, hiromatsu, and mariko, amongst all those villagers and samurai just so he could become shogun.  he was the bad guy all along, just as bad as, if not worse than, ishido.

Yeah, I got that hence the WTF reaction. Up until that point all of his pawn sacrifices were wrapped up in Japanes duty and fate bullshit. It wasn't until that scene that he revealed he did it for the lulz.

Toranaga: "I'm going to start chopping heads off to test Anjin. Also, Anjin doesn't serve any value but I find him amusing." Fucking psycho.

So we're gonna have to wait like what, two years for the next season?

It's a single season series. No mas.

    Subtly good finale.

Great show, never read the book but I do feel robbed of an episode of the boat ride to Osaka.

Could have used one more episode.

  7. Spoiler

Toranaga may have won and established the Edo period but Tom Cruise will have the last laugh when he visits the Japans and teams up with Ken Watanabe.

I'm pretty sure MMR vaccination has been required since I was in kindergarten in 1975. Do you have kids? Your kid has a vaccination card which someone in your family had to present to the schools.

Yeah, I know my kids received the vaccine. I was wondering if it was something we all got in elementary. I was an infant in '75 so I assume I must have received it by the time I entered kindergarten in the 80's. The last time I saw my pediatric medical records they were a stack of papers in a folder being filed away at Fort Sam Houston. Now I am curious what the military does with all those old medical records.

I like to think that there is a semi-liquid poop pool down at the asshole, so that farts percolate up through it like pot smoke through bong water, except maybe with different effects.

  10. When was the measles vaccine mandated for Texas public schools? I never had measles and have no idea if I was ever vaccinated.

Couple of thoughts here.  First: The high school format is significantly more expensive because they spread it out.  But they don’t really play more.  You go to Dallas, Atalanta, Hoover, and play one game Wed., Thurs., Fri., and keep going back to the hotel for the remainder of the day.  It can be frustrating.

Second: the kids play more and it’s almost always too much.  Burnout shows up in a variety of ways and it is prevalent.

Yeah, high school summer ball costs escalate with more travel and longer stays.

Totally agree on the kid burnout. It isn't something that stands out until they hit high school and you notice that 11 year olds are being pushed harder than 17 year olds.

15U but yea. Most tournaments have a 2-1-1 (in any order) pool play format. You do have to contend with weekday games (I guess unless you don’t care and they can drive themselves which most can’t until sometime sophomore year)

The jump used to be 14U to 16U with 16U being the equivalent of high school JV. I don't remember seeing 15U teams in the summer, it used to be a level for freshman that didn't make their H.S. team.

The weekday games were never an issue because of WFH. We'd usually stay at the same hotel and players would carpool from the hotel. The only real drawback was all the out of town travel. The only time it got rough was when one kid had to be in Atlanta and the other in Dallas.

My concern is that talent may not be the issue in the secondary. Development/coaching seems to be straight cheeks.

Diane Rhem would have been a cougar in the early 1990s. She is pushing 90 years old now and that isn't a cougar, that's weird fetish territory.

We don't have a lot of pass heavy offenses on our schedule and the SEC is a LOS league. Thank god we are not playing a QB of Penix's caliber next season. Maybe that's why they emphasized the lines?

I am concerned about what we saw with the secondary but would be more concerned if we were playing the usual Big 12 schedule against a lot of pass happy teams. I don't see anyone on our SEC schedule built to exploit our weakness in the secondary.

That's more HS baseball style.  You will find the tournaments over the summer may start on a Thursday with pool games that day, Friday and Saturday (some of the really big ones can start earlier in the week)  Then Sunday there is a bracket which depending on the hosting body and type of tournament can be anywhere from 4 to maybe at most 16 teams (big time Perfect Game tournaments etc).  So for example you may have a field of 28 teams, some subset of that makes the Sunday bracket and everybody else plays a consolation game on Sunday.  Some of the biggest of the big time ones I have seen may even spill over into the next Monday for last few games of a given bracket.

Then there are simply showcases, which is all that really goes on in Franklin. You are there to play games and be seen.

Yes, things ease up at 16U with games spread out over a few days instead of the the kiddie ball Sat/Sun format. The high school format is so much better than the kid tournaments. Oddly, the kids play a lot more games throughout the year and spend more time playing in a day than the high school players.

This is a stupid idea.  Get your starter in a groove and leave him in until the game is decided without question.  Telling Quinn to go get a hot dog from the concession stand at the end of the first quarter and sit for series is beyond stupid.

As to Gilbert, they were trying to redshirt him.  He burned his RS to play in the NC game.

I agree with all of this but will die on the hill that says Mac Brown fucked up the QB2 situation that costed the team a National Championship.

GG was thrown to the wolves and did a pretty good job and likely would have done better with more game reps. I won't even get into the Sherrod Harris situation but Mack fucked up the QB roster for years after the 2009 season.
