Yesterday I posted that I drove to it from the wrong side and had to drive across it. I didn’t think they would let me but they didn’t care. My wife was scared shitless
2. I made the mistake of visiting the royal gorge bridge from the backside. Had to drive across it - my wife was freaking out. I freak out over heights but never have had issues with bridges

Place was a huge tourist trap as well

3. Until the next heat freeze you mean?

Yeah, I’m starting to think this has taken a toll on my st aug lawn. Was always in great condition with few weeds until the last 2 years or so. I need to get on it and get it back into shape

I’ve always been organic and it worked great. Although I haven’t had it aerated and top dressed with Dillo dirt in a few years. Probably should get that done

In the past it was always healthy enough to choke out the weeds but that’s slowly changing the past few years I’ve noticed
4. https://arstechnica.com/security/2024/03/hackers-can-extract-secret-encryption-keys-from-apples-mac-chips/

A newly discovered vulnerability baked into Apple’s M-series of chips allows attackers to extract secret keys from Macs when they perform widely used cryptographic operations, academic researchers have revealed in a paper published Thursday.

The flaw—a side channel allowing end-to-end key extractions when Apple chips run implementations of widely used cryptographic protocols—can’t be patched directly because it stems from the microarchitectural design of the silicon itself. Instead, it can only be mitigated by building defenses into third-party cryptographic software that could drastically degrade M-series performance when executing cryptographic operations, particularly on the earlier M1 and M2

5. AISD just sent out their newsletter and it says schools will definitely be open on eclipse day. We were thinking maybe they'd cancel because we didn't have any snow days this year, but no.

I expected them to cancel but hopefully they make it a learning event

If they did cancel I would have tried finding some unknown roads and getting as far as I could. But I’ll probably just watch it from sw austin
6. Buying new car for a college-aged person. Want the process to involve as little wasted time as possible. Willing to travel for the right car at the right price. Can be patient and I don't care much about the financing since I am probably going to use my own bank. Anyone been through the new car buying process recently?

Check out the Costco auto program. Had a great experience with it pre pandemic. No idea how it is now
7. Hertz is selling off their Hertz fleet at fire sale prices right now, but as gsoda3 mentioned, there’s a reason they’re unloading it on the cheap.

Why is that? I couldn’t find his post
